Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Names Forged in Light

Yoriichi, cradled in his mother's arms, felt the unfamiliar world envelop him. The air buzzed with soul power, a vibrant energy unlike the demonic auras of his past life. The language around him wasn't Japanese, confirming his earlier guesses from the womb's faint perceptions.

His half-open maroon eyes caught Qian Xunji's face as he first held him, noting the blonde hair and purple eyes mirrored in Rexune. He must be our father, Yoriichi thought, sensing the resemblance. When he turned to his twin, her angelic glow and tiny giggles sparked joy. My sister... so cute, so connected to me, he mused, smiling at her. Rexune's eyes sparkled, her happy giggles echoing as she mirrored his smile.

Yoriichi: This world is strange, its tongue not Japanese, its power unlike any I knew. The soul power hums, promising strength for my Sun Breathing. The man who held me—our father, I see it in Rexune's face. Her smile, her giggles... my twin is a light I'll protect forever.

Bibi Dong: My heart bursts seeing them—Renxue's giggles, Yoriichi's quiet strength. Unlike my hateful future, I'll name my son myself, forging a bond Xunji can't touch. Their connection is my triumph, my love their shield.

Across from Bibi Dong's bed, Qian Xunji stood in thought, pondering names to play the "responsible" father. Qian Daoliu watched his son, a flicker of hope stirring. Is he changing? he wondered, seeing Xunji's rare focus. Bibi Dong, cradling her twins, waited silently, knowing from her future memories that Xunji would name the girl Qian Renxue. But for her son, she'd claim her right.

Minutes later, Xunji approached confidently, taking Rexune into his lap. Bibi Dong's eyes flashed with a silent, hateful glare, but he ignored it, proclaiming proudly, "This girl shall be Qian Renxue—'deep' for Ren, 'snow' for Xue."

He expected admiration, but Bibi Dong nodded calmly, inwardly scoffing. Predictable, she thought. The healers and maids praised the name, their voices lifting Xunji's mood. "Beautiful choice, Your Holiness!" the level 76 healer said, and he grinned.

Xunji returned Rexune to Bibi Dong and reached for Yoriichi, who gazed calmly. Bibi Dong slapped his hand away, her movement sharp. Xunji's face twisted in agitation, but Daoliu placed a firm hand on his shoulder. "Why?" Daoliu asked, his voice steady.

Bibi Dong's tone turned calm, persuasive. "I will name my son," she declared. Daoliu's deep gaze met hers, then he nodded. "Very well."

Xunji, stunned, opened his mouth, but Daoliu's telepathic voice cut through: She won't yield on this. Let her name the boy. Renxue can be the heir. Xunji's eyes widened, but he calmed, thinking, The heir's name matters more. Let her have the boy. He nodded grudgingly, accepting the compromise.

Bibi Dong turned to her son, who seemed to brighten, sensing her intent. Rexune, in her arms, pouted briefly, her baby mind feeling a twinge of jealousy, but Yoriichi's excited expression softened her, and she giggled happily.

Bibi Dong smiled sweetly at her son. "You shall be Yoriichi," she said, her voice warm, hinting she knew his past. Yoriichi's tiny face lit up, surprised yet delighted. Destiny... the same name as my old world, meaning 'fated one' in Japanese. My mother chose it, and I accept it with all my heart, he thought, his soul warmed by her love.

Daoliu raised a silent brow. Yoriichi? Unfamiliar, but they're happy. Xunji, however, spoke up. "He'll be Qian Yoriichi, as my son," he insisted.

Bibi Dong's voice rose, firm and clear. "No. His name is Yoriichi alone. 'Qian' doesn't fit him." Daoliu questioned her, but she stood her ground. "You agreed I could name him, Grand Worshipper." Daoliu sighed, nodding. "I keep my word."

In telepathy, he ordered Xunji, Accept it. Be calm. Xunji, agitated, relented, but his false smile hid resentment. I've lost to this woman beneath me, he thought, storming out minutes later.

AMV

Yoriichi: My name, Yoriichi, echoes my past, a destiny reborn. Mother's smile knows me, binds me to her. I'll grow strong, protect Rexune, wield this world's soul power for them.

Bibi Dong: Yoriichi, my sun, your name is my vow. Xunji's defeat today is small, but I'll crush him entirely. My twins, your love for me will be unshakable, my empire built on your light.

Daoliu ordered the maids, "Care for the children. No mistakes." He turned to the healers. "Is Bibi Dong stable?" The level 84 healer bowed. "With rest, she'll recover fully, Grand Worshipper." Daoliu nodded, promising generous rewards. The maids and healers, overjoyed, left the room.

Daoliu lingered, playing gently with the twins, then faced Bibi Dong. "Hold no grudge against Spirit Hall," he said softly, a rare apology in his tone. "Your children need you. I'll honor your requests." Bibi Dong, surprised, replied calmly, "I love them fiercely and will protect them always." Daoliu's tension eased, and he departed with Golden Crocodile Douluo for the Martial Soul Temple.
