The MC was a popular actor as well.
Now standing on the stage, he had kicked off with an introduction of himself and the show
In front of the rolling camera.
He also presented the concept of the show, which was in relation to the constellation. Indicating the starry concept for the debut line.
Alphas in constellation.
And after giving the needed introduction, he went on to begin calling in the 50 contestants of the show.
The 50 male Alphas who were going to compete in this show for a chance to debut in an all-Alpha boy group.
One set to become the next big thing in K-pop.
And one by one, these contestants came out to the stage—be it one by one, or in pairs, or in a group of four or so (depending if they were from the same company or so).
As they got to the stage, the MC would sometimes ask them some questions to generate some exciting content.
Questions relating to their past group or something like that. And sometimes he didn't. Besides, not everything was going to make it into the final broadcast—not even every contestant was coming out.
Some were cut out. And some would be rushed. You'd be lucky to even get a proper shot of you coming out to the hall.
The auditorium was huge enough to contain them all. And the contestants who came in were asked to take their seats at the elevated area, which looked like a stadium's seating arrangement.
An area where they'd sit and look down at the stage.
And the seats were arranged in ranks, from 1–50. And from the bottom to the top spot where the rank No. 1 seat stayed alone—beautifully decorated like a throne.
The dream seat of all contestants there.
The contestants were asked to randomly sit anywhere. And they'd be sitting down based on where they aspired to be, or where they felt their rank would be in.
Soon, the place was filled up, and everyone took their seat. There was only one person left—Seo Yujin.
He was the last person that was called, so everyone stared curiously to see who this last person was.
As Seo Yujin confidently made his way out onto the stage, all eyes were automatically on him.
"Woah, he looks pretty."
"Is he an Alpha?"
"I think so. Only Alphas are allowed here after all..."
"But he doesn't look like one... he's too..."
"Pretty."
"He looks ethereal. I never knew Alphas could be this pretty."
Everyone was already talking, commenting on the pretty "Alpha" that had just stepped onto the stage.
And Seo Yujin had a pretty smile on to crown it all.
The MC seemed to have some questions for him too.
"Woah, you really look so pretty that I could actually mistake you for an Omega or a lady."
Yujin smiled. "Thanks. I don't think I'm that pretty though..." He placed a hand over his mouth with a smile, playing along.
"Has anyone ever told you that you were pretty?" the MC casually asked, obviously for content.
"Ah, yes I do. A lot," Seo Yujin flaunted his new "pretty" aura.
"Then they're all certainly right," the MC laughed.
Soon, he asked Yujin to take a seat. And as Yujin looked through the audience, his bright expression immediately fell after seeing that there was only one seat left.
And it was the one beside Lee Jaehyuk.
Fuck!!!
He found himself screaming in his head while glaring at the murderous eyes Jaehyuk was already casting toward him.
It was already clear that neither of them liked the fact that they had to sit beside each other, especially after their first encounter.
But there was nothing Seo Yujin could do. He casually smiled while making his way to the seat.
He walked past contestants who couldn't help but cast him a second glare, and soon found his way to sit beside Jaehyuk, completely ignoring his existence.
Others who sat around Jaehyuk were super excited, and they struck conversations with him Jaehyuk.
"Oh, I'm such a big fan of you!"
"I've seen almost all your dramas. You're so good."
"Can I have an autograph?"
They would all flatter Jaehyuk, who would in turn feel good about himself.
But Yujin didn't do any of that.
He completely ignored the fact that Jaehyuk existed beside him.
"I told you to stay away from me. And keep your scent away too," Jaehyuk said to Yujin, clear enough for him to hear it.
"Mind your business and keep your mouth to yourself," Yujin snapped at him in a low tone, enough for him to hear without even looking his way.
"And it's not like I wanted to sit beside an Alpha who smells like dog poop," Yujin added, still not even looking his way.
"....."
Jaehyuk was beyond shocked. He blinked as he sniffed himself and stared at Yujin. "What the hell—"
"Quit being noisy and don't talk to me. The performance is about to start and there are cameras."
"....."
Jaehyuk was instantly muted by Yujin.

The mentors [judges] were introduced.
Two men and a lady.
Yul, who was from an older-generation boy group, now a soloist and an actor. He excelled best in dancing, which he came as a mentor for. He was an Alpha.
JayY, a solo rapper who was in charge of raps and stuff. He was a Beta.
And then Luna, the female judge who was a member of an active, popular girl group. She was their singing mentor. She was also a Beta.
The contestants marveled in excitement at the sight of these familiar, popular figures in the industry.
They all cheered while welcoming them one by one as they took their seats in front—a seat meant for the three judges.
Seo Yujin casually sat there watching. He knew them all and knew how popular they were in the industry. For the show to get them as the judges alone said how big the show was aiming to be.
But Yujin was only a fan of Luna. He could say he enjoyed her group's music so much.
---
The judges introduced themselves and gave a few speeches of welcome and encouragement to the contestants, urging them to try their best.
And then they went ahead to introduce the rule for the performance they were going to give.
It was pretty much simple.
All contestants would be graded based on stars after their performances.
And there were four stars:
Three stars for those with an excellent performance
Two stars for those with a good performance.
One star for those who had a mid performance.
And no star for those with terrible performances.
Seo Yujin gulped hard.
For some reason, he could already tell the amount of stars he was getting.
