Chapter 9 - Your Scent....

"You again?" Lee Jaehyuk was stunned at the familiar sight of the petite young man he had seen just outside.

The one that added to his already annoying day. "What do you want from me again?"

His voice was loud, and the male alphas who were there to audition were already looking up in their direction. They were curious to see what would unfold.

They knew Lee Jaehyuk was a big-shot actor in the industry—a child actor from a rich background whose fame in the industry kept growing.

And even at the age of 20, he is already a renowned figure in the industry.

Seo Yujin knew this as well. But what he knew more than that was the hate he had for him.

Seeing Lee Jaehyuk, he couldn't bring himself to really think about his fame, let alone gush over him in admiration.

Rather, all he thought about was his single encounter with him...

When Seo Yujin had decided to take a dip into acting after his idol career came to an end at the age of 28 with his last survival show—which ended terribly—he had actually come across him. Lee Jaehyuk.

Although not in a direct way, it was still pretty memorable to Yujin.

His acting career had always been minor roles, background characters, or something insignificant. Sometimes he'd act as a corpse, a market vendor, or something else forgettable.

But at the age of 35, it seemed as though his acting career was about to take a good turn. He had gotten a side character role in a drama—the highest he had gotten so far.

And it was in the same drama as Lee Jaehyuk, the hot actor at the moment.

So of course, Yujin was sure he'd get something out of this! Even though he had like five interactions with Jaehyuk in the drama, at least that was something.

He was positive it'd get him some exposure.

But how naive he was back then! Because little did he know that the author was about to play the cannon-fodder card with him.

A scandal broke out shortly after the drama started filming, and it hit Jaehyuk's career since the scandal was directed at him.

But as time went on, investigations were carried out and it was exposed that the director had a silent beef with Jaehyuk, and so the director had used "some actors" in the drama as pawns to set Jaehyuk up.

And as fate would have it, Seo Yujin was one of the actors.

Seo Yujin wasn't even aware of what the hell happened, but suddenly he discovered that he was part of a plan that sought to ruin Jaehyuk's career.

He wasn't even aware that HE WAS PART OF A FREAKING PLAN!

But it seemed the author somehow cobwebbed him into the "some actors" the director used against Jaehyuk.

And then, his career automatically fell through. He got thousands of hate comments along with the other "actors."

The highest attention he had probably gotten in his whole career.

He was pretty much blacklisted and lost the little connections he had. He paid compensation to the already collapsing company that housed him, losing a lot of money.

And although the hate train stopped about a month later, his career was already over.

He quit acting—and pretty much the entertainment industry.

And now, seeing Lee Jaehyuk stand before him drove flashbacks through his mind. Painful and detestable memories flashed through his eyes as he glared at Jaehyuk.

It might not have been explicitly because of him, but Seo Yujin couldn't help but feel like it was also because of him. And since he was protected by the author's pen and fingers, Yujin could only feel trashy about his own fate.

"First you ran into my car earlier and now you're running into my body?" Lee Jaehyuk snapped. "Do you want my attention so bad?"

Seo Yujin stared at him, hatred running through his veins.

Lee Jaehyuk scoffed as he ran a hand through his hair. "Well, I know I'm pretty popular and handsome, but are you that shameless to get my attention and cling to me in such pathetic ways?"

Jaehyuk looked ahead at the auditioning audience. "You're obviously here to audition, so you think clinging to me will get you a higher chance, right? You really are shameless to think you could get my attention and my fame with such petty tricks."

Seo Yujin glared at him and casually scoffed, his expression cold. "And who the hell do you think you are?"

It came short and sharp. Plain yet hard. The others at the back heard and couldn't help but cover their mouths in shock.

Lee Jaehyuk, who the question was directed at, couldn't help but blink in shock and confusion. "Huh?"

"Who the fuck are you? And what makes you think that everyone wants to cling to your pathetic existence?"

Lee Jaehyuk almost choked at the response. He didn't expect that at all.

No one responded to him like that. As the big shot he was, he was used to people clinging to him, begging him to help them or something.

He wasn't used to someone asking him who the fuck he was!

Everyone knew him!

"Are you being for real now?" Lee Jaehyuk questioned. "You're saying that to get my attention, huh?"

"I don't need your stupid-ass attention and your jinxed ass around me. So maybe fix your stupid personality and maybe someone would genuinely want your attention."

Seo Yujin had a whole lot to tell him—a lot of curses to throw in his face and maybe even some punches.

But he held himself back. He didn't wish to cause a commotion here since he needed to get this audition.

Especially since he felt his suppressant was weakening—and his perfume too.

He casually picked up his bag and was about to walk out when Lee Jaehyuk held him by the wrist, stopping him from leaving.

Yujin paused, turning to look at Jaehyuk holding his hand. He was confused. "What's it? Let go of me now."

Jaehyuk stared at his face. His eyes gently searched through Seo Yujin's petite and porcelain-clear face.

Lee Jaehyuk studied his face for a while.

"What?" Yujin questioned again before he replied.

"Your scent…"

Seo Yujin panicked.
