The prison shook like a living beast alarms screamed, chains rattled and the air grew heavy with the stench of poison.
Magellan loomed at the center of it all, his body a seething fortress of venom. The Hydra towered over him, its multiple heads writhing and snapping, each exhale releasing clouds of violet steam that hissed as they devoured the stone.
Magnus stood opposite, silver hair catching the dim torchlight, eyes unblinking. His hand rested lightly on Shusui's hilt with the blade angled toward the floor, black lightning dancing faintly along its edge as if eager to be unleashed again.
For a long breath, neither moved.
Then the Hydra struck.
Five heads lunged at once, fangs dripping rivers of poison. The air warped, sizzling droplets burning holes into the walls before they even touched.
Magnus exhaled and stepped forward.
His body blurred, the stone cracking beneath each push of his boots. Shusui carved an arc that tore the first two heads apart in a burst of sizzling venom. He spun, the edge singing as it clashed with another, then ducked low as the fourth slammed into the ground, spraying acid across his shoulder.
The fabric hissed and smoked as his skin reddened beneath.
Magnus didn't flinch. He just moved faster.
A flicker of black lightning raced across the chamber as Shusui cut the air in a sweeping wave. The slash collided with the Hydra, exploding against the venom in a roar of heat and light. Poison splattered across the walls like molten metal, burning new scars into the prison itself.
Magellan's massive form staggered back, his expression twisting into rage. "THIS IS MY FORTRESS! YOU THINK YOUR TRICKS CAN CUT DOWN POISON?!"
His arms spread wide and the Hydra dissolved into a tide. Venom poured across the floor in a wave flooding the chamber. The ground hissed and melted as rivers of purple steam rose.
Magnus leapt, landing atop a crumbling pillar as the tide consumed everything below with his grip on Shusui tightened, veins pulsing at his temple as his Haki flared.
The pressure filled the chamber. The guards watching from the higher levels collapsed immediately, some screaming before their bodies hit the floor. Torches flickered violently, shadows dancing across walls that seemed ready to collapse.
Magnus's blade hummed.
Black lightning crawled its length, fusing with the steel until the sword seemed less a weapon and more a storm in his hand.
He whispered, almost to himself.
"Sovereign Rend."
The strike tore the chamber apart.
The slash split the venom tide down the center, ripping open the sea of poison with a shockwave that cracked the walls and sent chains snapping like twigs. The venom exploded outward, splattering against stone, devouring everything it touched but it did not drown him.
Magnus landed, boots splashing into steaming puddles. His aura burned the poison away before it touched him with his Haki shielding his frame like an invisible armor.
Magellan snarled, steam hissing from his mouth. His body swelled again, new heads forming, larger and heavier than before. His venom dripped like liquid fire, his steps eating through stone as he advanced.
"You won't leave this place alive!"
Magnus's lips curved, the faintest edge of a smile touching them.
"Then watch me."
The chamber trembled as steel and poison clashed once more.
---
Magellan roared, his voice reverberating through the prison like a war drum. His Hydra surged again, its heads ballooning to monstrous size, fangs dripping rivers of purple death. Each head lashed like a whip, smashing pillars, tearing chains from the walls and drowning the battlefield in a storm of venom.
Magnus's body blurred between the strikes. Shusui arced black under the torchlight, its edge coated with crackling Haki that split the air itself. Every slash severed a Hydra head, splitting it into showers of poison, but for each one he cut down, two more rose from the writhing mass of venom.
The heat of the battle warped the air. Steam hissed as venom melted stone, filling the chamber with a suffocating miasma. Guards watching from the higher levels choked and collapsed as their screams swallowed by the clash of titans.
Magnus's chest heaved but his eyes burned sharp. His body was already marked with streaks of acid burns carved across his arms, patches of skin raw where droplets had landed. Yet his grip on Shusui never faltered.
He vanished forward.
Shusui cut through the fog, its edge trailing black lightning. Magnus's strike split one Hydra head in half and tore straight for Magellan's chest.
The Warden crossed his arms as the venom surging into a hardened wall that shone like molten glass. The blade struck which made the impact explode in a storm of sparks and venom spray.
For a heartbeat the chamber was nothing but blinding light.
Then the floor collapsed.
Stone shattered as Magnus's strike forced Magellan back, both of them crashing through the ground into the level below. Poison cascaded with them like a waterfall, eating into the fresh floor. Screams erupted from prisoners in their cells as rivers of venom carved through stone.
Magnus landed in a crouch, boots hissing against steaming stone. He rose, eyes narrowing as Magellan's massive form reemerged through the poison tide, venom dripping from every inch of his armor-like body.
"You're nothing but a boy," Magellan growled, his face twisted with fury, "yet you dare challenge Impel Down itself?!"
The poison writhed coiling around his body like serpents preparing to strike. His presence drowned the air, the sheer weight of his venomous aura enough to smother ordinary men.
Magnus tightened his stance, Shusui low at his side. The blade trembled with anticipation alive with his Haki.
"I'm not here to challenge this place," he said calmly, his voice cutting through the chaos like steel. His silver hair clung wet to his face, his baby blue eyes lit with unyielding resolve.
"I'm here to take what I want."
Magellan's Hydra surged again, larger than before, its fangs gnashing as if the prison itself had turned into a beast.
And Magnus charged straight into it.
The clash ripped through Level 2 like a storm with venom flooding corridors, stone walls splitting apart, prisoners screaming in terror and awe as the battle carved destruction into the heart of Impel Down itself.
