Chapter 75: Cheetah and Black Widow
The school's office building, near the very top floor.
Xi Nian walked quickly down the corridor and stopped before a half-open office door. He knocked lightly.
"Come in." A cool, distant female voice drifted from within.
Xi Nian pushed the door fully open and stepped inside. The curtains were drawn, leaving the office dim.
Behind the desk sat a striking woman draped in a leopard-print coat. No—more than striking, she carried herself like an elegant socialite. Her figure was full, at the height of feminine maturity, and her face flawless, untouched by the years thanks to careful upkeep.
Her bare legs stretched out from beneath a brown sweater dress, casually crossed, exuding a sultry allure. The hem of her dress had ridden up, exposing a dangerous length of thigh.
She was the very definition of a mature, sensual beauty—enough to make men lose their senses.
Every bit as captivating as Natasha Romanoff, but with an untamed, primal edge.
And this was supposed to be the new Dean of Discipline? Wasn't this just asking for trouble?
Xi Nian couldn't help but complain inwardly. Feeling uneasy, he deliberately opened the door wider, letting the hallway light spill inside.
"Close the door." The woman turned her chair slightly, facing him.
"Why close it?" Xi Nian felt even more on guard.
The woman smiled faintly, lips painted a dark shade. "Because what I'm about to tell you concerns Diana… Wonder Woman. Are you sure you want to leave the door open—"
Before she could finish, the door shut firmly by itself. The office was now even darker than before.
"Who are you?" Xi Nian's gaze sharpened.
"Child, no need to be impatient." She turned her chair back to the desk and gestured to the seat opposite. "Sit."
Xi Nian drew a breath and sat down across from her.
"That's better." Her smile grew as she studied him, eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "My name is Barbara Minerva. Considering my ties to Diana, you could call me Aunt, or better yet… Aunt Cheetah."
"Barbara Minerva… Cheetah…"
Xi Nian's pupils shrank slightly. He recalled Diana's younger aunt once mentioning her past, a friend and enemy alike—the infamous Cheetah.
Cheetah was no hero's title.
It was the name of a supervillain.
Barbara noticed his reaction and smirked. "So Diana already told you about her true identity, and about me. Then you should also know—it was I who planted that photo of Wonder Woman at your house."
"That's right," Xi Nian admitted after a pause. "And for that, I should thank you."
"Thank me? Why?" Barbara looked genuinely surprised.
"Because that photo gave me and my aunt the chance to finally break through sixteen years of distance."
For a moment Barbara stared at him, then suddenly burst into laughter, her chest heaving beneath her sweater.
"I never expected that. I thought once you knew who Diana was, you'd run from her in fear. Instead, it brought you even closer together."
Still smiling, Barbara slid the leopard-print coat from her shoulders, revealing her body wrapped tightly in only the sweater dress.
Was she preparing to fight?
Xi Nian's brows knit. With Gwen's Spider-powers he wasn't afraid of Cheetah, and he could escape if needed.
But without a suit or disguise, if he fought here his powers would be exposed. Unless absolutely necessary, he couldn't reveal them.
Thinking quickly, he said, "There's a lizard monster loose in the school. It may come here any moment."
"Lizard monster?" Barbara sneered. "That would be Dr. Curt Connors, wouldn't it? I already suspected your school was crawling with freaks."
She leaned forward, her eyes glinting. "But that has nothing to do with me. My target is you."
Barbara suddenly crouched, slipping under the desk.
Xi Nian stiffened as her dark-polished nails traced up his legs, gripping the arms of his chair.
Cheetah's upper body rose from beneath the desk, her sweater straining against her chest as she leaned in close. Her long, narrow eyes glowed with a beastly green light.
"Diana raised you well," she murmured. "Your scent is intoxicating. Let me devour you…"
Devour him?
Diana never mentioned Cheetah being a literal man-eater. She must have fully given in to the beast within!
Xi Nian's body tensed, Spider-Sense blaring warnings. His fists clenched, ready to strike if he had no other choice.
Just then—
A shrill fire alarm blared outside the office, followed by the shouts and screams of teachers and students. Mixed among them came a guttural roar, savage and terrifying.
It was from the classroom building across the way. Trouble had begun.
Xi Nian was about to kick Cheetah away when she acted first.
Her tongue, slick and red, lashed out and licked across the sweat-damp skin of his cheek.
Xi Nian's eyes flew wide.
At that instant—
Crash!
The office window shattered inward, glass raining across the floor. A slim, black-clad figure vaulted through, her boot catching Cheetah squarely and kicking her across the room.
Xi Nian's chair slid back, giving him space to clearly see the intruder.
It was Natasha Romanoff—the Black Widow.
Her short dark-red hair framed her face, as seductive as ever, but she now wore her familiar black tactical suit, her aura colder, sharper.
"Black Widow."
Cheetah slammed against the wall, then rose without injury. Her heels had fallen away; she stood on bare toes like a predator, glaring at Natasha.
"He's my target." Black Widow's eyes flicked briefly to Xi Nian, then locked back on Cheetah as she drew a sleek black sidearm from her waist.
"No one steals my prey." Cheetah chuckled darkly.
Xi Nian's face twitched as he watched the two stunning women face off.
Target? Prey?
Was he really being underestimated this much?
Wait… this was starting to feel like two apex predators fighting over a mate in the wild!
