Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

David Ramirez POV:

Bang!

He hits the mat hard, groaning as the impact rattles through him.

"Come on," Clint Barton says, standing across from him with his arms crossed. "If you want to be a hero, you've gotta learn how to fight. You don't want the same thing happening again, do you? You were getting beat up without even a chance to fight back."

"Yeah, well…" David mutters, pushing himself up. "I still won."

"Yep," Clint says dryly, "you won — but you also killed over five people." He raises an eyebrow. "What would you do if you needed one of them alive, huh? You didn't control your power, kid. The power controlled you."

David scowls but doesn't argue.

"So," Clint claps his hands, "we're gonna keep going."

"Yeah, yeah, fine…" David grumbles, wincing as he gets back on his feet. "But can you not hit so hard? It hurts!" He groans loudly at the end.

"Doesn't matter," Clint says, smirking. "You'll heal. Come on, do the thing."

"Fine." David sighs, placing his hand over his chest where he'd just been hit. Slowly, a faint green glow spreads across his palm, covering the bruised area. Within five seconds, the injury is gone.

"Gotta admit," Clint says, watching him, "I'm kinda jealous of that."

"Yeah, well, don't be." David shrugs. "And hey — you've got that cool ring. You can actually control your power. Mine just… do their own thing."

"Look at this." David lifts his hand, showing his fingers. His nails suddenly harden, turning into sharp, wooden spikes about five inches long. A second later, they shoot off at maybe five miles per hour… and fall to the ground halfway between him and Clint.

Clint stares at the sad little projectiles, biting back a laugh. "We all gotta start somewhere, kid."

"It's not funny!" David snaps. "I have no middle setting. I'm either super weak or way too strong!"

"Right, right." Clint shakes his head, slipping back into a combat stance. "Enough whining. More training."

"Oh, for God's sake…" David groans, mirroring his stance. "Fine, let's—OW!"

His back arches suddenly, and he freezes. Slowly, he turns his head to look over his shoulder. There's a faintly glowing, transparent purple arrow sticking out of his back.

"What the hell?!" David yells at Clint.

"You need to be prepared for everything," Clint says calmly, not even trying to hide his smirk. "What if someone attacks from behind?"

"This is a spar!" David screams. "Ow! That hurts! You actually stabbed me!"

"It'll heal. Come on!"

"I'm not fighting with this in my back! Get it out! Ow!"

"Ugh. Such a crybaby." Clint sighs, holding up his hand. The ring on his finger glows faintly as he clenches his fist, and in an instant, the arrow dissolves into nothing.

David groans, pressing a hand over the spot as the green energy flows again, slowly knitting the wound shut. "Ow… don't do that again! That's not cool!"

Clint raises both hands in mock surrender. "Alright, alright." Then he exhales sharply, smirk returning. "Ready?"

David glares at him. "…I hate you."

"Good," Clint says, grinning. "That means we're making progress."

Nick Fury POV:

"MOTHERFUCKER! …Say that again."

Fury's one good eye locks on the nervous S.H.I.E.L.D. agent standing in front of his desk.

"Sir," the agent stammers, "we've… recently discovered an island that's never appeared on any maps before."

"…Go on."

"When we sent a team to investigate, they found… a giant ape."

Fury freezes. Then, slowly, he leans forward, his glare sharp enough to kill.

"Motherfucker… Are you being serious right now? A giant ape? You're standing here, in my office, telling me that out there — on some random-ass island that didn't exist yesterday — there's a big damn ape?"

"Yes, sir," the agent says carefully.

Fury's jaw tightens. "…And how big is 'giant,' exactly?"

"We don't know the precise size yet, sir, but… at least over 300 feet tall."

"MOTHERFUCKER!" Fury slams his hand on the desk.

The agent hesitates, then clears his throat. "…Would you like us to send more people to investigate the island?"

"And do what, exactly?" Fury snaps. "Take selfies with it?!"

"Contain it, sir?"

Fury shoots him a look sharp enough to cut steel. "Why in the hell would we want to bring it here? No. Hell no. It stays on its island. We don't poke it, we don't shoot at it, and we sure as hell don't piss it off. Let's just hope it doesn't figure out how to build a boat."

The agent blinks. "…Right, sir. Of course." He mumbles something under his breath, salutes awkwardly, and quickly leaves the office.

Fury leans back in his chair, pinches the bridge of his nose, and mutters under his breath, "…Motherfucker."

He exhales slowly, staring at the files spread out on his desk. "What the hell is happening to this damn planet?"

First, there's David Ramirez. Fury flips through the report. The kid's a mess. Weak, but somehow strong. Unstable as hell. One minute he can't fight his way out of a paper bag, the next he's tearing down walls because his emotions spike. An unpredictable wildcard — and yet, they're recruiting him for the Avengers Initiative.

Then there's Barton. Fury shakes his head. The man's already one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s top agents, but now he's running around with powers — because of a damn train. Opened some altar, found a glowing ring, and now he can create anything he imagines.

S.H.I.E.L.D.'s scientists tested the limits. Turns out Barton can't make anything too big — a bomb the size of his hand? Fine. A bomb the size of a car? Not happening. But there's no limit to what he can make. Weapons, tools, traps… whatever he pictures, it's his.

"Perfect," Fury mutters, dragging a hand down his face. "Just what I needed."

He leans back, staring up at the ceiling. The world's changing — fast. Too damn fast. But he knows one thing for sure:

"No matter what kind of crazy shit comes crawling outta the woodwork…" Fury says quietly, a hint of steel in his voice. "…S.H.I.E.L.D. will handle it."

He grabs the next file on his desk, flips it open, and mutters one last time under his breath:

"…Motherfucker."

Gaia POV:

I made Kong.

It felt weird not having him around when I already had Godzilla and Ghidorah, but this one's different. I made him at full power — the version you see in the movies, not some weaker draft. But he will be gaining more power overtime slowly.

I'm also thinking about making my own religion. Not by revealing myself to the world — because, honestly, that would just get boring. For me, at least. Instead, I'm probably gonna pull a Poison Ivy move. Well, not me personally, but I'll make a Poison Ivy — basically someone with the power to command the Green. Forests, trees, plants, all that stuff.

Pretty much the same ability David Ramirez has, except I'd make it limited to wood, and unlike him, they'd have full control of it from the start. I'll probably send them visions and have them recruit followers. The world's gonna think it's some crazy cult — but it'll be real, so… it'll be hilarious when everyone finally figures that out.

Also, lately I've been feeling an invisible connection to other planets. Some connections are faint, but others… a lot stronger. I've never visited them, but I'm pretty sure this is connected to Yggdrasil — the tree that binds the Nine Realms together. I'm already linked to two planets in it, so I should probably head to Jotunheim, Helheim, and Muspelheim next, just to claim them too.

And since I've got control of the Bifrost now — because I am Asgard — traveling between realms is basically easy mode. Once I've gathered control over every planet tied to the Nine Realms, I should technically become Yggdrasil itself.

And after that?

Another day, another step closer to becoming the universe.
