"Nothing?" Victor questioned, not sounding disappointed or judgmental.
"Appears not," I said in utter disappointment. I turned towards the bathroom to clean myself up.
"You don't seem to be upset about it?" I questioned. Victor followed me to the bathroom. For a moment, I thought he was joining me to be satisfied, but then he yanked the faucet.
"There is a trick to it," he said, showing me how to turn it. "You, like this, means you stay my pet for a bit longer."
I rolled my eyes at his back as he left the bathroom and surprisingly shut the door. I didn't know why he was so different towards me.
The next morning, breakfast was waiting for me in the kitchen, but Victor was nowhere to be found.
'Ah, well,' I sighed and started eating. After breakfast, I left the house. I knew I wasn't far from the higher council, but something told me to stay away from there. So, instead of going to the higher council, I went for a run. When I got back, Victor was busy fixing up the place.
