The moment Kaios heard the shout of the fairy his vision blackned, before he found himself in front of stair of hovering rocks. This is the staircase, whose destination is first Island.
Form this view point, Kaios could already see at least a thousand steps streched upwards. Also now that he is near, he realized, this hovering rocks were not small at all— instead each was the size of a football stadium, seeming like hovering platforms.
He could also see an image of counting of timer, which was freezed at present. Beside him he could see three hearts, signifying the three life of his.
After checking everything, he lowered his stance, before launching himself up— a jump so high, that carried him for hundreds of meters into the air. With a incredible start like that, he flies past across at least thirty massive platforms before he began to descend, crossing another bunch of steps along the way. Then he finally landed on the fifty-second, all this with a single jump.
Without pause, he rushed forward to gather momentum once more, then leapt again—this time clearing another fifty platforms with another breathtaking leap.
Kaios repeatedly did it for many times, with his strength of stage and the properties of Gravistone— that he exchanged with his ability to talk, it was easy for him. In just half of an hour, he already soared past five-hundred rocks.
Like this just as he about to reach the stone platform number seven-hundred, some thing strange happened.
The next platform vanished, Kaios found no sign of it, and before Kaios could react, the one beneath him tilted sharply, flipping him under in an instant. There was no warning, no rumble— just an instant shift, and suddenly he found himself under the rocky platform, while it was above.
His instincts flared. Just as his legs left the surface, he draw the property of Gravistone alloy, but he didn't push himself away like before— instead he polarized the stone above his leg oppositely, gluing these against the surface. To further secure him, he carved his fingers into the rock making a grip to stabilize himself.
Just in couple of seconds, the platform came to his original position, he could also see the next platform above.
Hoooh...The heck was that, was this the reason why there was a rule that even if I could rest in these, i have to worry about these hazards.
Thus he again went for his previously effective method of climbing.
Though this time, there was a slight caution in his steps. He measured all things, before taking the next leap.
This continued for another half an hour, he was in the platform number fourteen-hundred ninty-nine, next platform being the last one.
For previous one he didn't experience any thing, like the one in seven-hundredth platform. He took a large jump, and landed on the 1500th platform.
He could see the entry point of the first island, so he rushed at it. In a second he crossed the half of distance.
Finally the first is..... Before he could even complete that sentence, the ground beneath began to descend rapidly.
Fuuuck...this shit again. Thinking this Kaios lept with all his force at the entry point of the first island.
But will it that easy? Well no. Just as he about to grab it, the small gateway shrunk, leaving not a single object behind for Kaios to grab his hand upon.
One life gone. As Kaios saw this, he already accepted the fact of losing his first life.
Because of this, Kaios plummeted down rapidly, towards endless fog covered abyss beneath, not dark. Though from the rush of air he caught the massive shift as he descend lower and lower, it shifting of 1499th platform to the place, where platform number 1500th should have been.
And like this, Kaios lost his first life, even before he could reach the first island.
Away from the trail, Raion was laughing loudly as he saw this, the popcorns were flying all around from his mouth.

"All that bravado, and you couldn't even reach the first island before losing one life.hahaha..!!" Shaking his head, "though at least you didn't scream, at your way down, that would had been more fun."
On the trial Kaios stood on the 1499th platform, just before the last platform. It took him another hour to just reach at this point.
He then took a large inhale, then approached the midpoint of last platform slowly. Just as he crossed the mid point, the platform descend rapidly like before.
But this time he didn't jump forward, instead he turned and leapt at the previous platform. As he approached, he used the attraction property, to hold the platform and locking himself.
In a second, the platform started to shift, and take the position of last platform. Kaios climbed it, before walking slowly at the gateway of first island, that again came to its previous position.
Like this Kaios reached first main step out of five. Just as both of his were came upon the surface of island, a sound echoed in his ears.
[Congratulation participant, you reached the first hurdle island. The name of this island is Devouring Maw.]
"Who who is this?" Kaios asked, while scanning his surrounding for the origin of the sound. He already cancelled his special attribute, that's why he could now speak.
[I am the assistant of Miss Clement, and in the management of minigames.]
"Clement? Who is it?" Kaios questioned as he didn't meet anyone with that name here.
[It is name of the golden fairy. She is the overseer of this whole plain.] The same voice said again.
Ohh.. so it is the name of that clumsy fairy, her name sure sound grander than her work. Kaios thought in his mind.
On a small cloud, surrounding with flowers Clement lied, suddenly she began to scratch her ear, "Is someone badmouthing me?"
Here on first island, Kaios asked the rules and obstacles for this island. Answering his the voice said.
[As, the name suggest in this island, there will be sudden maw appear from the ground. Your task is just to pass this.]
As Kaios heard this, it he nodded his head, "Okay simple enough."
[Then the timer will start now, you have fifteen minutes to pass this island. Any delay your life will gradually decrease. I wish you good luck, participant.]
The moment, the voice stopped talking a lound sound filled the area, signifying the start of Timer.
Kaios looked above at the countdown, before activating his Special Ability. Then like before Kaios used the Property of Gravistone and launched higher.
His body was cutting the air as well as the cloud in sky, but his eyes remained downwards, scanning a suitable platform for landing.
As he was searching, his eyes locked onto a fairly large stone platform. He marked it as his first landing site, as it was broad enough to give him room, for who know if something like the treacherous incident in hovering rocks happened again.
After all, the voice had warned him already; having extra space to move could mean the difference between survival and a plunge into the abyss.
Thus, Kaios landed at the middle of platform. With full caution, he used both of his hand to anchor himself, just as he landed on the platform, expecting any mishaps— but nothing happened.
He cautiously took a step forward, but suddenly a blinded light surrounded him, before the stone platform split apart beneath his feet, as if an abyss opened its jaw to take him.
Kaios jumped above, as if he was already anticipated it. But his direction was not platform in front, instead it was the one in back.
He learnt it from his previous mistake in hovering platforms. With this Kaios safely landed in the back, after some second the maw also started to close slowly.
Hooh... Kaios sighed mentally as he saw this.
After some time the maw was almost closed, but then— then a wall appeared from the back surface, before Kaios could react to this, it gently pushed him into the abyss.
Fuuuuckkkkk..... Kaios shouted without any sound, only within him.
And thus, once again Kaios Grimwold got played by his own mind, while experiencing the plummeted into the abyss once again.
