Chapter 24 - Second Artefact...

Dante and Raion appeared into a vast corridor that seemed to stretch endlessly. As they walked side by side, Dante's eye drawn into the, various artefacts displayed within the glass cases.

Each artifact is shown along with their details. There he saw different subgroups the artifacts were divided, from the weapons to the shields to the miscellaneous ones, they were also further categorized according to the different energy based, from mana powered ones to the spirit based.

It is not a secret in the universe that human can master the different paths as well as can create new paths through the use of Psion. That's the reason why Psion is one of desirable energy but alas, no one other than human could use it even when it is not an innate energy of theirs.

"Dante, welcome to the Hall of Artefacts. Here the Stage 10 Awakeners chose the weapon or artefacts for the advancing. You can choose the artifact you preferred for your second ER, but I will suggest you to choose that will has a good synergy to your previous ER. Also, as you took the military test, you are eligible to took one more artefact for your child.", Raion explained the rules to Dante.

Dante nodded and thanked the Enforcer. After explaining these Raion teleported, leaving only Dante in the Hall of Artefact.

As an avid polearm user Dante went straight to the polearm section. There he met with the various style of polearm from simple spear to composite one like glaives, halberd and other ones like Warhammer etc.

As he roamed he came across many pole arms artefacts with different energy usages that caught his eyes

1. Eclipse Fang

Energy Type: Mana (Sun-Moon Synergy)

Design: A long obsidian glaive with a blade that gleams silver under moonlight and burns golden under sunlight.

Abilities:

Dual Radiance: Shifts between searing solar fire and chilling lunar frost depending on celestial alignment.

Balance of Eclipse: When both energies overlap, it releases a devastating shockwave of pure Mana equilibrium.

Origin: Forged during the Solaris-Lunaris Wars, discovered in the ruins of a floating citadel where both sun and moon cultists perished in battle.

2. Gravemind Pike

Energy Type: Psych

Design: A thin, barbed spear with crystalline veins running along its shaft, pulsating faintly like neural synapses.

Abilities:

Mind Pierce: Inflicts psychic shocks with every thrust, bypassing physical armor to strike at the consciousness.

Echo Field: Creates a mental distortion zone around wielder, confusing enemy senses and slowing reaction times.

Origin: Unearthed from the catacombs beneath Auralith ruins, believed to be a psionic weapon meant to enslave enemy minds during the Mirror Wars.

3. Tidepiercer Halberd

Energy Type: Spiritus (Emotion & Light)

Design: A crystal-blue halberd whose blade refracts light like water's surface; the shaft hums with flowing resonance.

Abilities:

Resonant Flow: Converts the wielder's emotions into powerful waves of kinetic force.

Healing Current: Can redirect Spiritus energy to heal allies nearby, though it weakens offensive strikes.

Origin: Carried by a Selkar Tideborn admiral who fell in the Leviathan Abyss Battle. Recovered from the deep ocean trenches of Arilath by human divers.

4. Ironroot Naginata

Energy Type: Aura (Runic Craftsmanship)

Design: A wooden-shafted naginata reinforced with metal veins, carved with runes that glow faintly when activated.

Abilities:

Runic Guard: Summons temporary barriers of dense aura whenever the weapon is swung in defense.

Earthbind Strike: Each blow increases gravity around the target, slowing them and anchoring them down.

Origin: Crafted by dwarven rune-smiths for a legendary human warlord. Buried with him, it resurfaced when his tomb collapsed during a tectonic quake.

5. Crimson Howl Lance

Energy Type: Ki (Martial Battle Force)

Design: A blood-red lance with a serrated tip, its shaft wrapped in beast-hide; faint growls echo when it's wielded.

Abilities:

Blood Surge: Amplifies wielder's strength and speed the more injured they are.

Beast Roar: Emits a concussive shockwave of Ki, stunning weaker foes and intimidating stronger ones.

Origin: Said to be forged from the horn of a slain war-beast that terrorized the Orcish tribes. Claimed as a trophy by human warriors during the Savage Campaigns.

6.Tempest Reaver Naginata

Energy Type: Wind (Masked)

Design: A long silver naginata with jade-green edges. The blade curves like a crescent gale, etched with faint spiral patterns resembling air currents. When swung, faint whispers of rushing wind echo around it.

Abilities:

Cyclone Guard: Generates compressed wind shields that deflect projectiles and disperse elemental energy. Appears to others as refined wind mastery.

Rending Draft: Unleashes arcs of razor-thin wind slashes, extending the naginata's reach with deadly precision.

Origin: Retrieved from the collapsed citadel of Aurelian Skydome, a fortress once suspended within unending cyclones. Legends say its commander wielded a naginata that could turn storms into unbreakable bastions.

These are the six polearm artifacts, that Dante noticed. Among these the ones he most noticed was Gravemind Pike, Ironroot Naginata and lastly Tempest Reaver Naginata.

The Gravemind Pike will complement the defence ignoring property of the Special Attribute. His Special Attribute can ignore the physical defence whereas this can directly attack the mind of his enemy.

But that's not what he want, he doesn't need more attack synergies, he is currently now lacking in active and dynamic defence that's why he chose the other twos.

The Ironroot Naginata which is better atthe active defence as well as the crowd control.

But what he chose was the third one, Tempest Reaver Naginata.

It gives both attack and defence synergy to him but that's not what he after.

He is after the mutation that will caused by his Special Attribute of its first ability, Cyclone Guard. It uses the wind cyclone to provide him a dynamic defence along with the defence he has Storm Barrier.

But the most potential it will offer is when Tempest Veil will mixed with the Cyclone Guard. Though that will wait in future to see if his right or not.

With it Dante chose the Tempest Reaver Naginata artefact for his second ER. And just he about to announce that he had chosen the artifact to the Enforcer Raion, he suddenly appeared before him.

Raion looked at the hand of Dante, where he held the artefact.

"Hmm... Tempest Reaver, not a bad choice, though it will be redudant to you."

"Some of its ability was slightly better than you had, but you can always improve though."

Enforcer stated the drawback of Resonating with this.

"I know Enforcer, but that's not what I am after.", Dante explained.

"Elaborate..", Raion asked.

"What I want is the mutation that will caused to the first ability after I Resonate with it."

"My Selective Compression will mutate this Cyclone Guard to an other ability which will provide me a better defence and mobility than that."

Dante gave his reasoning for why he chose this instead of others.

"That's a good thinking. As you have finished here, let's go to the first Resonance artefact section. There you can chose one artefact for your child as a reward for passing the military test."

Dante nodded to the Enforcer, this solved the one of his predicament about his son, Kaios.

Kaios already reached the Stage 2 and the environmental mutation was also completed for the metal affinity, a week before their depart.

He is only waiting for an appropriate artefact to start the process of ER. Now that he has the opportunity, it will be better to check the one that Kaios had seen in his vision.
