Hey everyone,
Twenty chapters have gone by. When I first started publishing this fanfiction, I asked you all to stick with it for at least twenty chapters, and here we are. Thank you so much for reading and for your support.
There are a few key things about my process and the story that I want to share with you.
The Writing Process
I'm writing this story as I publish it. I initially had twenty chapters ready to go, but before I released chapter five, I decided to completely rewrite the next fifteen. This is why I'm usually only four or five chapters ahead of the publishing schedule, unlike many other writers who have a huge backlog. The big advantage of this, though, is that I can be a good listener. If you feel like the story is heading in the wrong direction and you point it out, I can fix things before they get out of hand. This story belongs to you as much as it does to me, and your feedback means the world to me.
The Story's Concept
If you've been following along, you've probably realized that the goal of this fanfiction isn't to present an overpowered character who will completely change the Naruto universe. Instead, this is more of a parallel narrative to the main story. You won't find a classic hero here. My main character, Mitsuru, is a complicated person who might cross some moral lines to achieve his goals, but he's definitely not a bloodthirsty monster. He currently has a lot of knowledge about the Naruto world, but I plan to change that in the near future and challenge him with a more grounded reality. All in all, this story is a look into the complexities of a gray character who could ultimately be pulled into darkness.
