'Boom' Compressed air formed as sharp as a blade and hit the claws of the beast and pushed it back a few meters. This was one of the application of the wind rules.
Brune had been fighting the beast for a while now and not even a claw had been cut off from the beast. They would exchange blows and hit the walls of the cavern in resounding booms, rocks and dust were flying everywhere but Brune was coming to terrifying thought, the beast's body was as hard as the strongest metal. The sword he was using could not even leave a mark on the beast and for these beasts being mindless, there was no other beast that had come to attack him even with all the commotion.
'I have been calculated, but who is it that wants me dead?' this is the conclusion he had come to as he continued fighting the beast.
The beast knew his moves like it had practiced battling him before, whatever he would do, the beast had the best counter.
'If I find out who trained these mindless beasts, death will be a blessing to them' he cursed out as he finally understood as to why the dark beasts were attacking the city in patterns. He always asked himself why mindless beasts wound not attack the city en masse but now he knew, they were being controlled by someone and that warrior was close to him.
'Time to use that move'
Brune had two affinities, space and wind but the known affinity that everyone was used to was the wind affinity. He had already reached the patterned stage and had started inscribing wind pattern rules on his core thus giving him control over some of the rules of the wind element but while battling the beast, he realized it countered his every move.
Brune kicked the beast away and during the respite, a pitch black sword with a single round pattern appeared in his hand.
His spiritual aura changed from being chaotic to being ethereal as if he was in another dimension or reality.
When the beast felt this change, it paused in its attack as it felt a faint sense of death from the Brune and let out a growl of intimidation. Brune just smirked in confidence and raised the sword.
'Grrr' when the beast saw the raised sword, it felt impending danger and stepped back but before it could realize what was going on, Brune disappeared from its sight. There was no displaced air or spiritual pressure from where he had been standing, just disappearance as if erased from existence.
'Booom, crack' the beast felt its bones crack and was sent flying backwards. The man had appeared like a ghost and could not react to the attack. Before it could come to its senses, Brune disappeared again.
If any warrior was watching this battle, they would exclaim in wonder at Brune's accomplishment. Any warrior who reached the seventh level could move very fast but not the way Brune was doing. These were space rules, Brune had reached the accomplishment stage in one of the rules in the space element.
The space element was one of the hardest element to gain enlightenment, anyone who had a small accomplishment in it was a prodigy.
'boom… booom…..' the dark beast felt like a ball, bouncing from one wall to the other and with one last attack, a black ray of light shot out from the sword and pierced through the beast as if it was made of paper.
Brune had leveraged all his spiritual aura into the sword to light up the pattern. That is how he had been bale to shoot out that deadly ray but now as he looked at the shriveling beast, he felt it was not worth it.
Brune felt empty from the lack of spiritual aura in his body and worried at the same time, with the passing time he could feel vibrations from ground which more beasts were coming for him.
'hehe' he let out a sarcastic laugh. 'this was a good plan but I wont have you celebrating early' he could not fight more beasts as he was out spiritual aura. He looked around and found that the cave walls and tunnels that had been destroyed during the battle were repairing themselves.
'huh' Brune was surprised to see this. 'something is very wrong in these mines' and before he could think of how this could be happening, he felt a stronger aura approaching him. It was way stronger than the one he had just killed.
He smirked and removed a large blue bead as big as his palm from his ring, threw it out into the 'healing' tunnels and bolted out of there.
'hope you enjoy my gift' he laughed and used all the remaining energy to run. The blue bead he had thrown out was a lightning bead that had been infused with some of his space rules making it a very deadly weapon.
He did not stick around to see his work.
'boooooom' a world destroying energy was released as the bead hit the ground. It destroyed all the oncoming beasts, lightning and space energy went through the beats like they were made of nothing and since these were tunnels, the energy became more concentrated as it chased and destroyed anything living in these tunnels.
This was an apocalypse that had just arrived in the mines, whoever was in the mine and could not run fast enough, well Brune didn't care about their deaths, that is how ruthless he was.
…...
As for the three women who had run off earlier, they had gotten lost in the tunnels as the one who knew these tunnels well had long disappeared.
They had just appeared near where Wesley was being kept as a prisoner when they heard the apocalyptic sound.
The tunnels started shaking like it was the end of the world.
'What now?' Verina asked in fear.
