Chapter 7 - Freedom, a fickle thing, but not for Sirius (Part 1)

"Lady Rosier, your efforts on my behalf are most gracious. If it pleases the chamber, I believe it is time I spoke." Dumbledore was too shocked to even counter our little display... Probably because he got confirmation that dad was as straight as an arrow... Oh and that i was his daughter, that probably affected him too, come to think of it.

~Good job sis, dad would be proud~

I smiled a little at my brother's words.

Lady Rosier nodded before walking back to her seat, her nerves hidden below the front that was her noble position. Lun was giggling at the faces and sheer awe or befuddlement that plastered itself across all of the assembled lords and ladies. I couldn't even hold back my glee at their current appearance, several of the lords in particular sporting gaping mouths; opened wide enough to catch flies and perhaps even a dragon.

Once our vassal lady sat we regarded the chamber, our formal grey-silver robes fluttering around our admittedly small figure. Being eleven was painful in many regards, one of these displeasures was our height and intimidation factor. That never stopped me or Lun though.

"My Lords and Ladies, it is wonderful to meet you all on this fine day." Slowly the chamber began their recovery, awkward shifting upon seats and hushed coughs filling the space after my words. They were uncomfortable, a state that dad had emphasised was excellent for assuring them of your poise and also to reinforce your nobility.

"I must apologise for the theatrics and surprises sprung upon you all... You see, I couldn't for the life of me figure a way of introducing myself without needing to invite every single member present here to a formal dinner. A fate all of us would, perchance, hope to avoid."

A few chuckles escaped those who would be considered the least experienced whilst the remainder simply sat with a small grin or smirk; reserved singularly for themselves.

"Taking your silence as agreement I must come to the conclusion that this was the best outcome..." laughter broke out from Lady Rosier at the faces of her fellow Lords and Ladies, her voice being the stone that broke the camels back, as the rest followed her for a miniscule moment of levity.

Observing Dumbledore however, I could see dread crawl up his face like dew in the early morning. He'd supposedly defeated our father and possibly killed him. Both of our anger and hatred concentrated into an umbral ball of heat within the pit of our stomach but I, being in control currently, put on a façade of neutrality. We couldn't let people know that we were 'like' our father in anyway; publicly, otherwise we'd be persecuted... No, we needed to show that we were changing our family; not that we planned to do a single thing in that direction other than make the appearance of doing so. I broke our observation and turned back to the Wizengamot proper, the silence bringing us both back to the matter at hand.

"Now!" Our voice cascaded through the silent chamber, bringing the eyes of every adult in the room to us. "I have several issues with Britain..." There were some murmurs of discontent before they were silenced by a flare of her aura, a few gasps shooting out from the aurors around the room. "But, for this session, I would like to bring forth the singular most embarrassing and dangerous blunder that the Ministry of Magic has allowed to occur within modern history!"

She had them by the balls now, everyone was waiting on her next words; despite her age. Lun and her smiled, the former in pride of his sister's skills and the latter in the fact that her words and mannerisms were working like father had taught her.

"The supposed traitor of the Potter Family, the family of the BOY-WHO-LIVED, Sirius Arcturus Black... Has never received a proper trial and was in fact thrown in Azkaban, as the Lord of a Most Noble and Ancient House, without due process! As a vassal of the Most Ancient, Most Arcane, Most Mighty and Most Imperial family of LeFay-Emyrs-Grindelwald-Nightingale, I call for his immediate trial and an explanation from the current Magical Government of Britain as to why one of our family's closest allies, has been treated so unjustly!"

If one had ever been to a muggle supermarket before, they would know now what the sound of a furious and slightly apoplectic Wizengamot was akin to. Verbal curses sprang through the room, strings of 'merlin's bloody ball sack' and 'Fucking Ministry' were as common as grass during this uproar.

Fortunately, or unfortunately; if your were Solaris and Lunaris, a gavel slapped down onto that hard oak wood podium of Dumbledore's, bringing everyone from their aggressive swearing and angered shouting, the old man himself frowning with all traces of his tell-tale sparkle vanished.

"Enough! Enough...!" The discontent continued for a few more minutes but eventually died out as the Wizengamot settled themselves into their seats once more, recovering from their impropriety.

"Lady... Lady Emyrs... Would you perchance have evidence to back your claim?" Amelia Bones, the head of the DMLE finally spoke up, her words slightly strained as she regarded the small child before her that was handling these adults like they were the children.

We smiled at the lady who was obviously related in some way to Sirius; considering her wet eyes and the slight tremble in her body at our news. "Of course Regent Bones... Lady Rosier?" Galatea waved her wand and banished three large folders over to the director of the DMLE, Amelia catching them with absolute prejudice before quickly flipping through them.

It was at this time the silly looking minister in his stupid hat-thingy decided to stand up and voice his opinions.

"N-Now look here little girl..." Galatea immediately narrowed her eyes at the minister whilst I and Lun just stared directly into his gaze, causing him to flinch like a kicked puppy; we'd seen many of them that dad had saved from alleys around the world.

"If you are to refer to me, it will be by my title as Lady Emyrs; as I have formally introduced myself... You snivelling little weasel."

Gasps echoed around before being crushed by an ungodly screech from a pink monstrosity who was attempting to stand and draw her wand all at the same time, whilst failing horribly. Lun rolled his eyes and then coughed inside our mind.

~Can you let me do the spell on her?~

'Eh... Can you keep this form? I'd rather not let them know our full capabilities.'

~No problems sis, I just wanna make boils explode all over her face...~

He giggled after his declaration, our wand raising upwards just as the pink-monster managed to pull her wand out; though it was back to front.

"Pimpulous Prodactus"

A weedy little beam of orange light surged from the end of our wand before plunging into the face of the woman, her body flinching back as boils slowly began crawling all over her body and then bursting like popped balloons. I wouldn't like to see the cleaners after this session, considering the puss and water dripping from her face onto her clothing and inevitably the floor below her.

The woman screamed out her infuriation but was stopped by the aurors with, perhaps, too many stunning spells to the face. She was an adult and was drawing on a minor, even before the prank spell hit her... In fact, many of the Lords and Ladies seemed to support Lun's move as they tried not to snicker and laugh at the expense of the garish toad.

The Minister ignored all of this and coughed. We both sighed and rolled our eyes internally, our exterior façade maintaining an air of sophistication.

"Lady, Emyrs..." The words came out strangled. "You do not have the authority to question the government and neither do you have the authority to speak within this body. I hereby revoke your access to this building unt-" I couldn't help but growl at his stupid, incompetent, words. Lun wasn't any different, except he showed his dislike for the sod with a disdainful glare; which was communicated through our combined façade.

"Shut up you useless slug. I am a LeFay and an Emyrs. My family is older than your cute Wizard Parliament and even older than the council that preceded it. We have forever been allowed access to Britain's services and allowed within its power structure, think very carefully of the power at my fingertips and just what it would mean for your administration."

The slug gulped as his undersecretary was levitated away by two aurors who were glancing back at the political spat that the Minister was having with an eleven year old girl.

"S-slug!? H-How da-dare you!!??"

"I fucking dare, now shut the fuck up and let the adults speak or I shall scold you further you nitwit."

He sputtered in a flurry of rage and deep amazement. He had clearly never been spoken to in such a manner and his actions showed it. I couldn't help but feel frustrated at the fact that most of the adults around her were thick-headed and had the emotional maturity of a wet tea-spoon.

~Calm down sis, I don't like him either but he has a decent amount of power...~

'He only has the power we grant him! His family is indebted to ours the most! Yet the little bug thinks he can have the cake and eat it at the same time.'

~Wait... He's in debt to us?~

'Mhm, unfortunately his family was the only one to really fail to pay their debt in time. Otherwise we would have had the Zabini family, Flamel Family and the Bourbon royal family as debtors to House Grindelwald and Nightingale.'

~When did you learn this? I haven't seen this.~

'It was when you locked yourself away. You never asked what I did, so I never answered.'

He shrugged mentally whilst perusing the information, my attention flickering to Amelia Bones, who had finished skimming the contents.

"There is enough evidence here to have an immediate trial Lady Emyrs..." Dumbledore stepped in now, his eyes sparkling a touch. "We should schedule the trial for the next session." I glowered in anger at the old coot, his stupid half-frame glasses making me want to slap him.

"No." Dumbledore paused and regarded me with all the temperance of a man used to playing the grandfather role.

"I am afraid, that you have no jurisdiction with regards to session agendas, Lady Emyrs, that is in fact my power as Chief Warlock." Our left eye twitched as Lun wanted to gut him right there and then.

"Actually, Albus, as this is a trial, this decision is not in your hands but instead in my own. And, personally, I say that we need to get Sirius here as quickly as possible for a trial." Dumbledore grimaced, the twinkle yet again gone from his eyes as he regarded the director of the DMLE. There was a touch of resentment in his countenance before it shifted into a faked emotion.

"Very well. Please, continue then..." He relaxed back in his chair as if it did not matter, but his face betrayed his attempted subterfuge. Shrugging our shoulders we nodded to Amelia, turning around and walking to the seat next to Lady Rosier whilst we all waited for the trial to begin.
