Chapter 5 - End of the road.

[Mt. Hakobe, Fiore]

"ROAAAAARRRR!!!!" A ginormous white wyvern roared as it landed furiously in front of König. He had a smile on his face and drew his blade, "Come at me lizard."

The wyvern answered his provocation with a tail swing. This swing launched up huge chunks of ice. König exhaled before expertly weaving and slicing each chunk until he was in close quarters with the wyvern.

The wyvern swiftly brought down its giant wing in an attempt to crush König. Forseeing this, König made a dome out of reishi that effectively blocked the wyvern's strike. As the wyvern was feeling the recoil of its powerful attack, König quickly brought down his dome and sliced the wyvern across its chest.

"ROAAAARRRRR!!!" The wyvern roared in agony and its erratic movements made König leap backward. Thick red blood oozed out of its wound and the glare it gave König would make any normal human die from fear.

König grinned and got ready to attack again. His Blut Vene snaked across his body and the force of him sprinting forward displaced a giant chunk of the mountain. He flew through the air with his legs primed for a powerful dropkick.

*BOOM*

The wyvern's entire upper body was reduced to entrails and blood. It couldn't even process its death due to the sheer power and speed behind König's dropkick. The man in question was drenched in blood, "Ew, this stuff smells rank. The herbs you defend better be worth it…"

König walked further up the mountain until he arrived at a large cave. He could feel an impressive amount of ethernano coming from within the cave so he pressed onward. The inside of the cave was lined with intricate ice crystals and small iridescent insects.

After a few more minutes of walking, he arrived at a large opening within the cave. Inside of the opening was a pasture of green herbs.

"Let's see if the rumors are true." König said as he bent down and picked one of the green herbs. He put it in his mouth and ate it.

*BOOM*

His body gained a blue aura and his muscles bulged for a moment, "Alright!" He exclaimed as he tightened his fists.

"Just eating that one herb was equivalent to 3 hours of meditation." König smiled widely as he looked at this opportunity for strength. So he picked up another one and ate it. But this time, his magic didn't skyrocket like before. He ate another one and its effects were lesser than the one he previously ate.

"No way! Can I only eat a couple in my lifetime? Or do I have to space out the time in which I consume one to get the full effects?" König questioned himself and decided with the latter. He gathered as many as the bag he brought could hold and made his descent down the mountain. The sun was beginning to set and the winds getting stronger on the mountain means a storm is on the way.

"I'd better hurry back! I don't want Mr. Makk to worry." König told himself as he began to sprint.

[Meanwhile, in Hargeon.]

Four individuals in knight armor and white cloaks with the number one embroidered into the back landed in an underground room from a hole in the ceiling. The group consisted of one man, two women, and one young boy.

"Alright. Mori, use your magic to reverse whatever happened here. Once he's done with that, Cecily you use your Soul Hunter to find our target." The man said, gaining the ire of the two people he just ordered.

"And who made you the boss? Last time I checked, we're all the same rank." Cecily questioned as she pointed her finger at him. The boy, Mori, nodded in agreement with Cecily.

"Tch, can you just do your fucking job?! I have very important matters I would like to return to!" The man, Kan Guy, yelled. Cecily scoffed, "Important matters like what? Gambling? Drinking? Very important indeed."

An anger tick mark appeared on both of their foreheads as they stepped up to each other, "Go ahead and hit me! You're gonna get your ass whooped just like last time!" Cecily yelled as Kan Guy placed his hand on the giant greatsword on his back.

"Alright you two, cut it out. We have orders from the Magic Council to do this discreetly. I'm sure neither of you want to deal with them on top of whatever consequence the boss is gonna give you." The other woman, Lollipop spoke. Cecily and Kan Guy clicked their tongues and stood down.

Mori was already away from the group and standing near where Bora died, "Reversal Magic: Scene Recreation."

A giant green magic circle appeared on the floor and green figures began to appear. The figures were silhouettes of Bora, König, Connie, and the unnamed slave buyer. The scene depicted König coming in and taking both of them out within seconds. Once the scene was over, Mori paused it and Cecily walked up to König's silhouette.

"Soul Hunter Magic: Thousand Eyed Seeker." A dark red magic circle with a pentagram appeared in front of her palm. The magic circle released a black four-armed creature with a bird-like head and hundreds of red beady eyes. The creature "ate" König's silhouette and turned its head in a specific direction.

"Go after him. We'll be right behind you." Cecily ordered the creature as she patted its head. The creature nodded and left the room the same way they came.

[Makk Family Home, Magnolia, Fiore]

"Ahahahaha! Who knew a blind man could make such an excellent steak! Eating this dish makes me feel young again!" Henry Makk laughed. König sheepishly laughed as well, "Thank you! This was the first time I've cooked for anyone other than myself, so I'm glad you both enjoyed it!"

König decided to cook the wyvern he killed with the herbs he stole from its den. His main reason is to see if the herbs can be cooked and retain their effects and also because he wanted to try what it tasted like.

"Maybe he should work in the kitchen at the hospital Dad! That way you won't have to be a doctor, chef, and maintenance man." Connie suggested and Henry began to rub his beard in thought. König smiled, "I'm one hundred percent willing to do the job. It's the least I can do."

Henry still sat in thought for a few seconds before sighing, "Sure why not! But if you collapse again, you're going to be homebound for a while." Henry said pointing his finger at König.

"Of course, of course. Thank you!" König gave Henry a slight bow. Then suddenly, the wall behind Henry exploded.

*BOOM*

Henry was sent flying through the walls of his house and landed outside. Connie was also sent flying and was knocked unconscious by the blast. König was sent rolling into the living room and he wasted no time assessing the situation.

Standing within the destruction was a 9-foot-tall black four-armed monster with a bird beak full of serrated teeth. It was incredibly muscular and all of its eyes were staring at König.

"GRAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!" Its roar was ear-piercing and powerful enough to have its own shockwave. König slowly stood up and his blindfold vanished due to his anger. He stared at the creature with an immense bloodlust. Before the monster could even take a step forward, König was already gripping its skull and in the motion of slamming it to the ground.

*BOOM*

The force of his slam destroyed that part of the block. The monster was unscathed and it punched König off of it. König was sent flying down the street but he recovered by sticking his legs into the ground.

'Where the hell did this monster come from?! And why is it targeting me?! I'll tear this thing to shreds and whoever created it as well!' König's spiritual pressure was unleashed, birthing powerful winds and an indescribable weight on everyone in his vicinity. Yet the monster was unaffected.

It ferally ran at König using all six of its limbs and tried catching him with its jaws. König easily dodged and delivered a powerful punch to the monster's back. The force of his punch was powerful enough to dribble the monster and König delivered a kick to its open abdomen sending the creature into the air.

"HEILIG PFEIL!" König yelled as thousands of blue arrows were fired from his finger. The arrows tore through the monster like nothing and reduced it to ash. He then turned his attention to his house and he felt his heart drop.

"It can't be…" He mumbled to himself as he walked towards the house. He checked up on Connie and was happy she was relatively okay minus some minor injuries. Yet, that feeling of dread was still heavy on his heart. So, he went outside to check on Henry, and that dread was born for a reason.

"No way…" König said as he cradled Henry's body. A piece of wood had impaled his chest and his right arm was broken so terribly that the bone was sticking out. His breathing was nonexistent along with his pulse.

Tears escaped König's eyes and he couldn't do anything but yell in agony, "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
