Chapter 84 - Chapter 82- Ming Jun's task

Shae Harris sat down on a table while examining the food.

"I feel like everyone's looking at us," Wei Zhi shifted in his seat with his head low.

"Of course they are. Let's just hope we don't have protagonist aura and attract minor villains," Ming Jun picked up his fork.

"But why are they looking at us though?" Mori Aoi asked with her face almost buried in her food.

"Naturally, because my debut into school was just too stunning," Shae Harris smiled proudly while winking at a random student.

"No, I think they just think that we're uncivilized trash," Ming Jun rolled his eyes.

"They can think whatever they want as long as they leave us alone," Wei Zhi mumbled.

"Why don't we focus on the fact that this tastes good," Shae Harris said before shoving a full spoon into her mouth.

The others took a bite and gasped in surprise.

It really did have a taste.

They focused on eating their lunch while being ostracized by the entire school.

Which was exactly what they wanted, so they relaxed and enjoyed their food.

"Now what?" Shae Harris said, rubbing her stomach.

"I think we should begin our tasks now," Mori Aoi said.

"There's nothing better to do anyway," Wei Zhi shrugged.

"Ah—but how do we meet up once we're done or if we need help?" Ming Jun asked.

"Obviously, let's form a party," Shae Harris operated her game screen.

Then a notification was sent to the other three people.

They accepted the party invite, and the team was formed.

"What name should we give it?" Mori Aoi asked.

"The Gamers," Shae Harris said.

"Cannon Fodder," Ming Jun spoke at the same time.

"What kind of name is Cannon Fodder?" Shae Harris turned to him.

"And Gamers is sooo much better," Ming Jun said sarcastically.

"You guys decide!" After glaring at the other person, they turned to the two who were watching.

Mori Aoi blinked, then peeped at Wei Zhi.

Her stance was obvious to all that she would leave it to Wei Zhi.

"Cannon Fodder," Wei Zhi received her hint and made the decision.

"You're just saying that because I'm a girl!" Shae Harris grabbed his collar.

"I look more like the girl in this situation than you," Wei Zhi shrunk back and stared at the hands on his collar.

"Then is it because you don't like me?" Shae Harris didn't relent and squeezed his collar tighter.

"Yes," Wei Zhi said shamelessly while covering his face with both arms.

"Don't blame another person for your bad taste," Ming Jun snickered and dragged her off him.

"Are you okay?" Mori Aoi patted Wei Zhi's back as he coughed with his ass to the ground.

He gave her a thumbs up while rubbing his neck with the other hand.

"Tch, whatever," Shae Harris glared at the two boys.

Then snatched Mori Aoi, who was beside Wei Zhi, and walked away.

"I guess I'll be off now too," Ming Jun said with a sigh.

He patted Wei Zhi's back and walked away.

Wei Zhi stood alone, feeling wronged, and went in another direction.

...

Ming Jun sat at the library twirling a pen.

The same pen he had gotten from the librarian along with an empty notebook.

He wrote four words on it:

Transmigrator

Original

Reborn

Regressor

Ming Jun fell into deep thoughts.

The original hero and the regressor have an opportunity to be the same person.

But that would clash with the transmigrator, whose major buff is knowing the world plot.

Or the regressor can also be the reborn.

The great hero from a thousand years ago could be born as a baby a thousand years later.

And the original hero and transmigrator are usually in the same sphere.

So it's best to start from there.

But the problem is how exactly to find them.

Ming Jun has read countless transmigrator stories, which all have the same plot more or less.

Normally, he should be invincible in that area, but the truth is different.

See, because he has read so many manhwa and manga,

the plot gradually becomes forgotten in the endless cycle of reading the same thing.

It's only those truly unique ten-star manhwa that he could remember.

So he had to dig deep in his memory to find some hints.

But he eventually found it.

First hint is the fact that the transmigrator has black hair and black eyes.

Usually, these transmigrators enter bodies that look Korean for some odd, inexplicable reason,

and practically become the only male in the school with that hair color.

It's not that there aren't students with black hair—

it's just that they pale in comparison to the transmigrator.

Second hint is the fact that the transmigrator enters either one of these two bodies:

An ordinary person who somehow managed to enter the most prestigious school on scholarship.

Now, these transmigrators are the type with OP powers that have a major drawback,

or have a seemingly weak ability, but because he read the novel or played the entire game,

he figured out a way to turn a seemingly weak and useless ability into the strongest ability around.

Or the original owner of the body has a hidden secret.

The most probable outcome of all of these is that the transmigrator is from a normal family with OP powers or knowledge on how to gain them.

The second body that a transmigrator could inhabit is the body of a minor villain that dies in the first chapter of the novel.

Those types of transmigrators are rich and don't usually stay that much in school.

Their activities occur outside of the school premises, and their families are usually very low-rank nobles.

But they are the most cautious types of transmigrators—

and always have a fiancée.

Come to think of it, the easiest way to find a transmigrator is to find his harem.

I could ask for the strongest females in school, then ask who they've hung out with recently.

Or I could just hang around and wait for the students to gossip.

There's always those random NPCs who start explaining random skills and techniques

while claiming that it was some family's secret moves.

Ah—wait.

Isn't that cultivation?

Ming Jun shook his head and wrote a list under Transmigrator:

Black hair and eyes

Korean name

Noble scum

Harem

Then the original hero of a novel is the easiest to find.

Blonde hair and blue eyes.

Surrounded by a powerful female.

Rival/friends with the transmigrator.

Top rankings in school.

Always involved in disasters or terrorist attacks.

Now for the reborn hero.

The major category belongs to the first hero to defeat the demon king.

Then they get erased from history and become a baby of a noble family.

These types usually have multiple talents and a group of people following him.

Ming Jun would have thought harem, but then he remembered that reborn main characters have male friends.

Anyway, they have at least one person from each field that follows them,

and they spend most of their time as kids.

So he should be in the first-year class—

and have white hair, probably.

The last type is the regressor.

These were the black sheep of their family who managed to survive to the end by some miracle.

They usually have an older sister who is very strong and died protecting them.

But the reason why this would be harder to find is because they usually focus on kingdom building.

They wander around the world while gathering talent.

Most importantly, they are young men in their 20s.

Ming Jun circled it and set that one aside for now.

Honestly, he feels that there is no way so many main characters could exist in one school—

at least without not interacting once.

But it might be possible if the transmigrator is in his last year,

and the reborn is in his first year.

The reborn would only treat it as the tales of his seniors,

and with the arrogance that comes with being a reborn hero, he would ignore it.

While thinking about how he would surpass that level soon,

or how he was a million times stronger at his prime.

As for the transmigrator who entered a noble—

well, his journey occurs outside school, and the reborn hero's story occurs in school mostly.

Now that he had a somewhat stable plan,

Ming Jun was considering how to look for them.

First idea was to look for the yearbook and look for males with black hair and eyes.

But a picture wouldn't reveal anything.

So he turned to going from one classroom to another and watching every person in that class.

But then that would attract too much attention.

The students might think he was a pervert and beat him up.

Or worse, the transmigrator becomes suspicious and tries to test him—

and that testing either involves direct questioning,

or sneaking into his room to assassinate him.

Ming Jun opened his status and looked at the only skill he had while sighing.

Reinforce – makes one part of your body as hard as stone.

This skill is useless in the face of the transmigrator.

Someone who was destroying boulders after leveling up once.

A minor test from someone like that would kill me.

Especially from a transmigrator who is so arrogant as to never pull his punches.

That's great and all because his opponents are always strong enough to take it.

I can't take it. I'm just a weak chicken cannon fodder.

So direct confrontation is definitely a huge negative.

I would die in first contact.

Then how to look for him?

Hope for the best?

No, my luck is horrible.

Wait for a physical class or exam and go to the place that has the most dangerous monster?

No, I would die just from the aftershock.

Offer goodwill to the transmigrator claiming to be his fellow countryman?

This isn't a good idea because then he might see me as competition.

So it's either I become his servant, or he makes sure to monitor me all my life.

Not like I'm staying here for that long, but the idea of it is terrifying.

Anyone involved with a main character would never have peace of mind.

I would probably end up being attacked or dragged into a dangerous mission.

Ming Jun sighed.

For the first time, he began to dislike those transmigrators.

Reading about their exploits is one thing,

but actually meeting them face to face is another.

There's only one word for them—

crazy bastards with a huge ego.

Why must they always rush into danger?

And why is there always a stupid person that runs to provoke them?

Can you not see how strong his ability is?

Can you not hear when the teacher talked about how strong he is?

Can't you use your brain to understand that there's obviously something off about him?

The correct thing is not to get angry at his change but to run away—

or at least leave him alone.

It looks like there's only one option left—

the unconventional one.

I'll have to lure him to a secluded place.

No, he would think it was a trap and kill me once he catches me.

Then is it possible to install cameras in every third-year class and use something to bait him?

But then he would investigate me to the ends of the earth and force me into his group.

Attracting his attention comes with a heavy price.

No choice then.

I'll have to hope for the best.

Unless...

Ming Jun opened his status once again and began to search.

He sighed in relief once he saw the system shop.

Then he started to look for an item.

Mask – hides identity and completely removes traces while wearing it.

Ming Jun chose the mask, which was free of charge customary to the phone.

It was automatically saved into his system space,

meaning the black phone has already paid for any item used in the game.

With this, Ming Jun was completely relieved.

He tore the note from his notebook and folded it,

then placed it inside his pocket and walked out of the library.

He nodded to the beautiful, busty librarian along the way,

then walked to the bathroom.

He put on the mask while inside the toilet.

It didn't feel stifling, but it was still a bit uncomfortable.

Ming Jun walked out of the bathroom and straight to the nearest classroom.

Then, with a burst of confidence because of the mask, he walked inside.

Now it was class time, and the classroom was full.

They all turned to him, including the confused teacher.

"Hongdae," Ming Jun said in Korean.

They all looked at him, stunned, but none of them were shocked due to recognizing the word.

So Ming Jun bowed and said sorry before walking out.

Then he headed to the next class.
