"Uncle Goku?!"

Trunks froze, shocked. He had been ready to fight to the death, but now he didn't know what was going on.

Wasn't this man the Dark Man? Why was Uncle Goku suddenly saying he wasn't?!

"It's over, Trunks…" Goku's voice was calm.

"Long before we even came here, the Dark Man died by his hands."

"This Goku… is from another world."

Vegeta, who had just woken up, spoke too. He didn't expect it himself. He didn't think another version of Kakarot could be this strong—strong enough to push them both to the edge of death.

Trunks' eyes shook with confusion. His heart felt heavy. Nothing made sense. But before long, confusion burned away into pure rage.

"Dark Man!!!" Trunks roared, his voice full of anger. "You're unforgivable! Don't think you can trick me by pretending to be Dad and Uncle Goku! I'll never fall for it again!"

Flames of ki burst around him. His eyes were red with fury.

Super Dimension Goku and Vegeta exchanged helpless looks.

"This kid…" Vegeta muttered. "He's been pushed so far by the Dark Man that he can't even tell who's real anymore."

"I'm really not the Dark Man…" Goku scratched his cheek nervously, his smile twitching. He didn't know how to explain himself.

Chrono Vegeta clicked his tongue. "Hmph. This is your fault. If I were him, I'd think it's a trick too. You just beat them half to death and now say you're not the Dark Man? Who would believe that?"

"What should we do?" Goku sighed, scratching his head in frustration. "Trunks won't believe us no matter what we say…"

But before he could think of anything, a familiar voice called out.

"Trunks."

Trunks froze. His body trembled. That voice… it couldn't be. He turned slowly, his eyes widening.

"Mom…?!"

Standing behind him was Bulma—older, tired-looking, but alive. Beside her was Mai, his girlfriend, also safe.

Trunks' aura disappeared instantly. His anger melted away. His whole body shook as tears filled his eyes.

"Mom… you're alive?! And… Mai too?! How… how is this possible?!"

Bulma walked up and gently touched his face, her hands trembling but warm. "You've suffered so much, Trunks. I'm sorry for everything you had to endure. You've worked so hard."

The touch was real. Her face was real. For the first time in years, Trunks allowed himself to believe.

His tears finally burst out. "Mom…! Mom…!"

Goku smiled softly as he watched. He didn't need to say a word—Bulma's voice carried more weight than anything he could explain.

After calming down, Trunks wiped his tears and looked at Goku again. "So… what really happened after I left my world? Is he truly not the Dark Man?"

Bulma nodded. "At first, I thought I would die at the Dark Man's hands. But at the last moment, Goku from another world appeared and saved me. The Dark Man was already killed by him."

She looked at Trunks seriously. "It was my idea. I asked him to act as the Dark Man to push you further, to make you stronger. I didn't want you to stop growing."

Trunks' eyes widened, his heart finally settling. The anger that had driven him for so long disappeared. What replaced it was relief, peace, and happiness.

He looked at Goku and lowered his head deeply, bowing ninety degrees. His voice was full of respect.

"Thank you, Uncle Goku… from another world."

Goku just smiled and nodded. "Heh. You did good, Trunks. You've grown into a real warrior."

"Get out of the way, Kakarot." Chrono Vegeta shoved Goku aside and stepped in front of Trunks.

"Dad?" Trunks blinked, totally confused. He didn't expect Vegeta to show up like that. Then, even more confusing — Vegeta slapped him.

The slap didn't hurt much, but it sounded loud. Trunks turned away, stunned. "Dad… what was that for?" he asked, voice small.

"You idiot," Vegeta snapped. "You couldn't even tell the real Kakarot from an impostor. That's why this whole mess happened."

"From now on, you protect this world yourself," Vegeta kept going, his voice cold. "Don't count on me or Kakarot to do everything for you."

Vegeta was furious. He didn't care whether the Dark Man was dead or not right now. What burned him was that some Kakarot from another world had beaten them. Vegeta could stomach losing to the Dark Man — but losing to some other Kakarot? Unacceptable.

"I know, Dad…" Trunks said quietly. He felt hurt, but he didn't argue. This was his father.

Bulma watched them and smiled softly. If Vegeta hadn't died in this timeline, Trunks would have had a whole family. That thought made her eyes shine.

Across time, Chrono Goku, Chrono Vegeta, and Shin — the East Supreme Kai — all returned to their own time and space. Trunks stayed behind. He decided to help the survivors rebuild Earth. Goku would stay here a while too. He needed a reason to travel later.

Meanwhile, the Kaioshin Realm lay in ruins. Broly paced, frustrated. He still felt out of sync with the whole fight. The battle between Goku and Vegito had already ended — it was a draw — and Broly hated how he couldn't read the flow of the battlefield.

"If only I could control my power better," Broly muttered. "I'm strong, but I lose control. I need training."

A beam of light sliced through the ruined sky. Broly looked up. The light faded, and an angel appeared. He wore simple robes, calm and unreadable.

"Who are you?" Broly growled, instincts ready. His power started to stir.

The angel bowed slightly. "I'm Whis, attendant to the God of Destruction," he said in a soft, even voice. "Broly — I can help you learn control. But there's a condition. Will you listen?"

Broly hesitated. A chance to stop going berserk? He wanted to trust Goku first, but Goku wasn't here. The offer was tempting. "What's the condition?" Broly asked at last.

Whis was direct. "I must appoint you as the new God of Destruction for Universe 7 after you master your power."

"God of Destruction?" Broly frowned. He'd never heard that title before. It sounded scary — like a villain — and Whis looked strange and distant. Broly wished he had Goku here to talk to.

Right then, Goku teleported in from Earth. He landed beside Broly, surprised. "Whis?" Goku said, surprised to see the angel.

"First time meeting you, Goku from another world," Whis said, smiling politely. "You must have seen me in your world."

Broly ran up to Goku. "Whis says he can help me control my power," Broly said fast. "But he also wants me to be the God of Destruction. What should I do?"

Goku's brow went up. "God of Destruction? That should be Beerus. Why would Whis pick you?" Goku felt a chill. Something didn't sit right.

Broly looked to Goku. He trusted him more than anyone here. "I don't know," he said. "I need your advice, Goku."
