The three of them sat at the table, and the air grew heavy with awkward silence. Finally, Bulma spoke up, breaking the tension. She told Mai that Goku Black was dead.

Mai's eyes widened in shock.

"Black… really? He's dead?! Goku… you killed him?!" She stared at Goku, needing to hear it again.

Goku gave a small nod and smiled.

"Yeah. He's gone."

"…That's… amazing. Finally… Earth can breathe again." Mai let out a sigh of relief.

For the first time in years, peace had returned to Earth.

This planet had gone through too much—first the androids, then Majin Buu, and now Goku Black.

But at last… it was over.

"By the way, Bulma," Goku said, as if he just remembered something. "When I beat that guy who looked like me, this fell from him. Can you figure out what it is?"

He pulled out a strange silver-white ring and handed it to her.

With Bulma's genius, Goku was sure she could tell what it was. But after examining it carefully, spinning it in her fingers, she frowned.

"It looks like an ordinary ring… but if Black was wearing it, it's definitely not normal. I can't say for sure what it is. Maybe only he knew."

Then, her face grew serious.

"But Goku… I have to ask you for something important."

Seeing the heavy look in her eyes, Goku nodded.

"Sure, Bulma. What is it?"

She leaned forward.

"Black might be gone, but the future of this world is still dangerous. Trunks can't protect it all on his own. I want you to push him, challenge him, make him stronger. Earth doesn't just need scientists or normal people right now—it needs warriors. It needs a leader."

Goku grew quiet, then gave her a serious nod.

"…Yeah. You're right."

But her words made him think deeper.

"Actually… I should go check something. If Gohan and the others haven't been reincarnated in this world yet, maybe I can bring them back with the Dragon Balls."

Bulma's eyes lit up.

"If Gohan and the others were alive here… it really would change everything." She looked at him hopefully. "Please, Goku. You're the only hope left for this world."

Goku smiled sadly, taking back the ring.

"Leave it to me, Bulma. I won't let this world fall apart… not again. I already failed once."

With that, he turned and walked away, his figure disappearing into the distance.

Bulma's chest grew heavy.

"Failed once? …Could it be… his world was destroyed too?"

Far away, Goku spread out his ki sense, reaching beyond the living world into the afterlife.

After ten seconds, his eyes narrowed.

"…Strange. I can't feel King Kai's energy anymore."

He focused harder. Not just North Kai—but none of the Kais' presences could be felt.

A bad feeling gnawed at him. Without hesitation, he locked onto King Kai's place in the Other World and used Instant Transmission.

When he appeared, his heart sank.

The Northern Kai's world was in ruins. Everything was gone. King Kai, Bubbles, Gregory—all shattered into nothing.

"The signs of battle… could this be Black's doing?" Goku clenched his fist. He remembered the last thing Black said before dying: that he had already killed Goku in this world. Maybe it was true. Maybe he had killed King Kai too.

The situation was worse than he thought.

Looking around, Goku saw only chaos. Souls wandered aimlessly across Snake Way, lost and without order.

"…Even King Yemma's energy is gone." Goku's stomach dropped. "The afterlife itself… it's breaking apart."

Just as he prepared to leave, a familiar ki flared in the distance. His eyes widened.

"…That's… Gohan?!"

Yemma's Palace.

The afterlife was in complete disorder. With King Yemma dead, there was no judge left. Souls couldn't move on—heaven, hell, nowhere. Everything was collapsing.

But one person still stood, holding things together.

Gohan.

After dying to the androids in this timeline, Gohan's soul had been preserved by King Yemma as a special exception—because he was the son of Goku. But now, with Yemma gone, Gohan was the only one trying to hold the afterlife together.

He had just finished pushing a group of escaped souls back into hell when he suddenly felt a presence behind him.

He spun around—only to lock eyes with his father.

"Hey~! Gohan!" Goku grinned, raising a hand in greeting.

But Gohan's face twisted in rage. His aura erupted violently, shaking the palace.

"…YOU!!!"

Before Goku could react, Gohan roared, transforming into Super Saiyan 2 in an instant.

"Gohan, wait! Listen to me—"

"SHUT UP!!!" Gohan's voice thundered. His golden aura burned with fury.

"The monster who pretended to be my dad—he killed King Kai, killed King Yemma, killed the gods… he killed everyone!!"

His eyes burned with hatred as he pointed at Goku.

"And now you show your face again?! I WON'T FORGIVE YOU!!!"

The Gohan of this world exploded with anger. He clearly mistook Goku for Goku Black.

Goku gave a small, helpless smile. "Guess talking won't work, huh? Well… if that's how it is…"

"MASENKO!!" Gohan roared, firing a massive golden blast straight at Goku.

The energy wave tore through the underworld like a storm. But Goku didn't even flinch—he raised one hand, and with a burst of aura, shattered the Masenko into nothing.

The next moment, Gohan was already on top of him. The blast had only been a distraction—the real attack had just begun.

"RAAAAAH!!"

Gohan unleashed a furious barrage of punches and kicks, each strike sharp and deadly.

Goku blocked them with ease, but his eyes widened with interest. Every strike… clean, efficient… no wasted movement. This Gohan's been through real battles. He's not the same as my Gohan… he's a hardened warrior.

"You've really become strong, Gohan!" Goku said with admiration.

"Don't mock me!!!" Gohan shouted, his aura exploding even higher. He thought Goku's words were just insults. His fist, full of rage, smashed toward Goku's face.

BOOM!

The punch landed—but stopped dead in Goku's palm. Goku had neutralized the power completely with one hand.

"Gohan… you've become a real fighter. But you should at least listen to me."

"Shut up!" Gohan yelled, pulling back and spinning into a whip kick.

BANG! Goku caught it easily.

"It seems I'll have to change my approach…" Goku muttered. His eyes flashed, and in an instant, his aura flared.

He vanished—reappearing in front of Gohan in less than a blink. His fist shot forward, packed with terrifying destructive power.

Gohan froze. This fist… if it hits, I'll be erased completely!

But at the last moment, Goku pulled his power back. His fist stopped an inch from Gohan's face, the shockwave alone making Gohan break out in cold sweat.

"You…!?" Gohan's eyes widened.

"Now will you listen?" Goku asked calmly. "I'm not the imposter. I'm Goku—your dad."

Gohan stood frozen. His eyes scanned Goku's face, his voice, his aura. Everything was the same.

"You… you really are… Dad? But… I saw you die…"

Goku shook his head. "Not exactly. I'm Goku, but from another timeline. It's a long story."

He quickly explained everything to Gohan—the fight with Goku Black, his rebirth in this timeline, and how he ended up here.

…

After listening, Gohan finally lowered his head. His aura faded, and he powered down from Super Saiyan 2.

"I see… so you're really Dad, just from another world. I'm sorry… I attacked you without knowing the truth."

"It's okay, Gohan." Goku smiled warmly. "Honestly, I'm proud. You've grown into a fighter who can survive on your own."

"No… compared to you, I'm still weak," Gohan admitted.

Goku chuckled and patted his son's shoulder. "You'll only keep getting stronger. Stay humble, Gohan—that's the right path."

Then Goku looked around. The underworld was in chaos. Souls wandered without direction. With King Yemma and the Kaioshin gone, order was collapsing.

"The only way to fix this is to bring them back," Goku said. "We'll need the Dragon Balls. I didn't want to use them again after what happened with the Shadow Dragons… but this time, we have no choice."

He turned to Gohan. "Stay here and hold things together. I'll head to Namek and ask for their Dragon Balls."

"Got it." Gohan nodded firmly. He knew the underworld needed someone to keep control.

Goku closed his eyes, focusing. His mind expanded across dimensions, searching for Namek. He locked onto the planet's coordinates and teleported instantly.

But when he arrived, his eyes went wide.

All across the mountains and plains… were the corpses of Namekians. Their green bodies lay in ruins, dried blood staining the ground.

Namek had been slaughtered.
