He seemed completely unaffected. Cold light flashed again in his palm, condensing into a blade that sliced downward.
Swish!The sword, glittering with frost, tore through the sky like lightning—and split open the black mist surrounding the Planet Devourer.
"Roar!"
The Devourer bellowed in pain.From within the darkness, a silver-brown energy core flared like a miniature sun, dazzling and violent—like a nuclear blast blooming in the void.
For a heartbeat, the light eclipsed every star revolving around Chaisu Star.
When it finally faded, the Devourer's form reappeared—smaller now, but far more awake.His psychic power surged, sharp and alive.He was fully conscious.
Xu Fu felt a mighty mental shock locking onto him, as if the universe itself held its breath.
"Since you're awake," he said evenly, "then leave."
"You can't approach Chaisu Star. That's my fish pond. Whether I stay or go— that's for me to decide.""Even if you claim to guard the balance of the cosmos, you don't get to act arrogant in my pond."
A fierce wave of mental energy burst from Xu Fu's subtle body.The Planet Devourer's terrifying pressure—actually forced backward.
Planets drifting nearby shuddered as if witnessing the impossible.That such a being existed on barren Chaisu Star…?Hadn't the Celestials already wiped out its entire civilization—gods and all—for dissection and study?
The Devourer's core flickered in confusion."Who are you?"A tide of majestic thought struck toward Xu Fu.
"Mutant Academy. Student."
"Planet Devourer," Xu Fu said calmly, "leave this galaxy now, or I'll take offense."
"There's no reason to leave!" thundered the Devourer. "Chaisu Star is fated for annihilation.Humans—take this as my final mercy. Flee with whoever you can."
"Mercy?" Xu Fu laughed softly."Then I'll return that kindness with my blade. When you were at your peak, maybe I'd hesitate.But in your weakened state, you dare act this proud?"
He lifted his hand again.Cold light flared—another slash, pure and blinding, cleaving down.
High above, a streak of white split the darkness.It was too fast for sight to follow.For an instant, even the Devourer's movements froze—his vast body lagging half a breath behind.Then—
Slash!The massive figure was cut clean through.Half his body dissolved into starlight, scattering across the black void.
"Human!" the Devourer roared. "You've sealed your fate! You bring ruin upon yourself—and your planet!"
His reddish-brown torso glowed hotter and hotter, his fury distorting the energy around him.
This form was not his true body.It was an avatar—an energy shell forged for planetary consumption.As long as his internal energy and soul-core remained intact, true death was impossible.
But even so—Xu Fu's strike made him feel as though his very limbs had been torn away.
"Human," the Devourer snarled, "you reject the mercy I offered.Very well. Let your species' source of life become my nourishment!"
His immense thoughts vibrated through the void, spreading like a storm.Xu Fu's voice cut back, cold and sharp:"Then you'll be dragged off your altar, Devourer.This isn't the age where you can run rampant."
The ethereal blade in his hand turned into a rainbow arc, slashing forward once more.
"Foolish human," the Devourer bellowed. "You think the same trick will work on me a third time?Your kind is too lowly to comprehend the deity's power!"
His thoughts trembled, and all surrounding energy began to move in response.The entire sector of space shook with his psychic command.
Though called the Planet Devourer, his power wasn't bound by ordinary cosmic laws.He didn't merely consume worlds—his will manipulated energy at the very origin of the universe itself.
With a single low grunt, his mind unleashed a shockwave that made space itself kneel.Nearby forces bowed, submitting to his consciousness.
Crack.Reality trembled—and he reached toward the idea of mastering the omnipotent cosmos itself.
"You will witness the true power of the universe!" he thundered."Before your corpse, I'll make you see what high-class power really means!Crush!"
His mental energy surged toward the cold-lit blade in Xu Fu's palm, attempting to seize and unravel it.
In his imagination, under his control, that light would twist and implode—the sword shattered into an energy projectile bound by his will.
But Xu Fu's figure blurred—and the glittering blade didn't distort at all.Instead, he turned his wrist and swung it back at the Devourer in one clean motion.
"What—?!"The Devourer's thoughts faltered."What's wrong with my origin power?! Why doesn't it work?!"
He forced his psychic might again, stronger—yet still, nothing.Within the gleaming sword, Xu Fu could almost sense another presence—a trace of the arrogance once belonging to the man called Aizen.
The Devourer pushed with all his might, trying to shatter the sword's composition—but the weapon remained unshaken.
In that instant, realization struck him.It wasn't that his power had failed.It was that the human before him… was too monstrous.
"How—?!""How can a human wield such mental power?!"
Even in his weakened state, the Devourer's psychic strength dwarfed worlds.Just his size alone spanned more than a dozen planets.By all rights, no creature should match his mind.
Yet Xu Fu did.
Even among multiversal beings, few could rival the Devourer's mind power at his lowest ebb.In many realms, he was worshiped as one of the Fathers of Creation—a supreme existence standing above cosmic law itself.
And yet, before this one man from the Mutant Academy—his power was trembling.
