A mutant's abilities aren't set in stone.
Most mutants need to train and hone their powers after they awaken.
Only then can they truly strengthen their abilities.
Some mutants never master their powers, even as adults.
Cyclops, Scott, the leader of the X-Men, is a prime example.
He needs a specially designed Frequency Spectrum Control Device to manage the optic blasts from his eyes.
He can't freely control the laser beams from his eyes.
This is because Cyclops's power is simply too immense compared to Scott.
So powerful that even Dark Phoenix could absorb Scott's energy as her own.
However, there weren't many mutants who possessed such immense power and could also control it. They were a small group even among the mutant population.
Most mutants' abilities grew stronger with age and constant training.
Therefore, in Professor X's eyes, Xu Fu's abilities were a bit absurd.
Raw power wasn't the issue; many mutants had bizarre, even outlandish, abilities that defied logic.
But someone like Xu Fu, who had such power and could control it, was rare.
Normally, only through constant training could one achieve such proficiency and strength simultaneously.
Yet, Xu Fu didn't fit any of those criteria.
This is ridiculous.
"Maybe this is a new mutant I haven't seen before."
"Let the child start combat training in a few days and prepare to join the X-Men."
"Although he's a bit young, he must accept this fate now that he's a mutant."
Professor X couldn't help but sigh.
Mutants are not accepted by ordinary people, and they need to make more effort if they want to live a peaceful life.
Even if Xu Fu wasn't old enough, this was the only way.
Xu Fu, who was fishing and sunbathing, didn't know what Professor X had arranged for him.
Even if he knew, Xu Fu didn't care.
If they wanted him to do something, he'd do it!
Being an X-Men was useless anyway. Fishing was much more enjoyable.
Xu Fu happily went fishing.
But he didn't know that in other places, some people weren't so comfortable.
This was a place a few dozen kilometers from Manhattan, a very secret island.
Although it wasn't far from New York, the largest city in the beautiful country, there were no traces of humans here, like a deserted island.
But within a cliff on this deserted island, there was a hidden world.
A naturally formed cave, artificially modified into a livable environment, contained not just living quarters but also various pieces of equipment that appeared to be for experiments.
On the adjacent wall, there were even large iron-barred cages and a massive machine.
This machine resembled a gyroscope. At its center was a fixed steel ring, with something resembling a seat in the middle.
At this moment, a white-haired, gentle-looking elderly man was constantly caressing the machine, his expression suggesting that it was his beloved.
Not far away, a woman with a shapely figure and blue skin was standing.
Before long, two ugly-looking men brought a blond man to the giant machine.
The two men directly forced him into a restraint chair in front of it.
Once the restraints were fastened, the blond man was completely unable to move.
"I'm a senator! What do you think you're doing!"
The blond man shouted, his face contorted in fear.
"Senator Robert, of course, we know you're a senator."
"If you weren't a senator, I wouldn't be looking for you."
A hoarse but dignified voice echoed, and the old man inside the machine looked at the bound senator with great composure.
"What do you want!"
Seeing the old man's gaze, he felt as if he were being watched by a beast, his eyes filled with even more terror.
"I don't want to do anything, just to apply what has been done to us, to you."
"I wonder if, if you became a mutant, you could still be so high and mighty like you are now."
The old man spoke slowly but firmly, standing on top of the massive machine.
He placed his hands on the handrails, and a massive amount of energy began to converge into the machine.
Above the machine, the huge iron rings began to spin rapidly. As they spun, a white light began to emanate from the center.
"Aah!!"
Magneto let out a tremendous howl from within the machine.
The giant machine was constantly draining his life force, transforming it and brewing it within itself.
Buzz! A huge buzzing sound kept ringing out.
Finally, the machine's operation reached its peak speed.
Boom! Dazzling light spread outwards from the center of the massive machine.
The mutants seemed unaffected, but the senator strapped to the chair felt as if his entire body was being sliced apart, wracked with pain.
The pain came quickly and left just as fast.
Senator Robert felt something was wrong. He looked at his hands in terror, shouting, "What have you done to me?"
Across from him, Magneto was incredibly weak. Mystique helped him stand. He spoke weakly, "I've merely made you one of us."
"From now on, you're one of us."
"No, this can't be happening!"
"I don't want to become a monster like you!"
Robert shouted in despair.
"Monsters?"
"You'll understand what a monster truly is soon enough."
"Take him away."
With Magneto's order, two hideous men carried Robert away.
"Are you alright?"
Mystique, Raven, asked at this moment.
"I'm too old. I can't withstand the terrifying drain of this machine."
"This machine will kill me."
Magneto spoke, incredibly weak.
"Then what do we do?"
Raven asked.
"We need to find a child who can help our Fellow Mutants achieve a revival."
"With her power, we can achieve our goals," Magneto said, forcing himself to stand.
"Let's go. Gather everyone."
"We're going to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters."
"As long as we find Rogue, our long-term goal will be realized."
Magneto finished speaking.
Hearing that they were going to attack Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Raven hesitated.
Perhaps sensing Raven's hesitation, Magneto spoke again.
"Raven, necessary sacrifices are unavoidable on the path to greatness."
"But rest assured, I won't excessively harm our Fellow Mutants, nor will I harm my old friend."
"Go."
Raven breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this and turned to leave.
Magneto, however, stared off in a daze, lost in thought.
