Chapter 4 - Learning? Screw learning, I'd rather go fishing!

Xu Fu was taking tests in the testing grounds.

The other mutant students were in class.

Actually, there weren't many mutant students in the entire Mutant Academy; including the teachers, there were less than two hundred people.

Of course, there were definitely more mutants than that in the world.

It's just that many parents wouldn't send their children to this school, or they sent them to other schools, plus many other complicated reasons.

This meant that the number of students here wasn't that high.

Therefore, everyone was gathered together, not far from where Xu Fu was testing.

And since the Mutant Academy was actually just a large manor, Xu Fu's actions weren't just about destroying a piece of equipment.

Boom!

The entire Mutant Academy building shook.

"Ah!"

"Earthquake!"

"Let's get out of here!"

A wave of panic swept through the Mutant Academy.

Even though they possessed all sorts of abilities, they were still just a bunch of kids.

Faced with this situation, they were naturally a little panicked.

"Hey, quiet down."

"There won't be any earthquakes here."

Wolverine slammed his hand on the table, speaking loudly.

As a rough-and-tumble guy, teaching these students was already a stretch. For him to comfort them was something Wolverine couldn't do.

Fortunately, perhaps because he was always quite intimidating, his words were effective, and the students quieted down.

"You lot stay put. I'll go see what's happening."

Wolverine, Logan, glanced at the students before him and said.

Walking out the door, he let out a long breath and pulled out a cigar, lighting it.

Phew.

Wolverine exhaled contentedly.

He looked up and saw Professor X approaching in his wheelchair from the depths of the academy.

"Charles, what's wrong?"

"The academy's power system wouldn't have malfunctioned, would it?" Wolverine asked.

To power Cerebro, the Mutant Academy had a powerful system beneath it. If it exploded, the blast would be even more devastating than a bomb.

Quicksilver's heroic rescue was a direct result of an explosion in the academy's underground reactor.

Wolverine was afraid something was wrong with the reactor under the Academy.

"Of course not," Charles said.

"It's just a child taking a test."

Charles smiled and shook his head, his expression very gentle, looking just like an old man from the neighborhood.

"What the hell, a student test? A student test can cause such a big commotion?"

"Where did this student come from?"

Logan exhaled a smoke ring and spoke.

What kind of test could cause such a big commotion? The entire Academy could feel it.

Who in the entire Mutant Academy could do that?

He didn't feel anyone using any special abilities.

"This student is quite something."

Professor X had a mysterious smile on his face.

Professor X's power was incredibly strong; his mental abilities could easily encompass the entire Mutant Academy.

He understood everything that had happened in the training ground through his special abilities.

He was also quite surprised by Xu Fu's performance.

However, using telepathy was naturally not as direct as seeing it with his own eyes.

"Let's go, Logan."

"Push me over to see the new genius we've got at the Academy."

"This might be a good thing for us."

Professor X said.

The situation for the X-Men wasn't looking good.

To protect the rights of mutants, they, the X-Men, needed to work even harder and couldn't afford any mistakes.

They needed more power to maintain their position. Seeing a promising new talent, Charles naturally felt very pleased.

Logan, of course, didn't know what Charles was thinking. He just stuck a cigar in his mouth and reluctantly pushed Charles towards the training ground.

"Genius?"

"Charles, I think you're exaggerating. Aren't we all geniuses here?"

"If you can even call it a talent."

Logan's lips curled into a sneer.

Ordinary people thought immortality was wonderful, but for him, who had lived for nearly two hundred years, it was nothing but torment.

His mutant abilities had defined his tragic life. If he had a choice, he would rather not have awakened them.

Hearing Logan's words, Charles was silent for a moment.

"Perhaps it's not a talent, but it's a power, and it could benefit us."

"Then we can only consider it a gift."

Professor X's voice was gentle as he tried to comfort him.

Logan, however, was somewhat dismissive and pushed Charles into the training ground.

As soon as they entered, they saw the dynamometer, utterly destroyed.

The machine looked as if it had been run over by a truck, almost reduced to pieces.

"Ororo, what happened here?"

"Did your powers go out of control?"

Logan nearly dropped the cigar from his mouth. This scene was like a World War II battlefield. What was going on?

"This wasn't me."

"It's this kid. Looks like we have another gifted child among us."

Ororo looked at Xu Fu, her eyes filled with admiration.

Logan's gaze at Xu Fu was filled with surprise.

This destruction, was it caused by this kid?

Are young people these days all this fierce?

Even he wouldn't be able to withstand this kind of combat power, right?

Compared to the astonished Logan, Charles was much calmer.

As the leader of the Mutant Academy, he had seen many incredibly powerful mutants: Apocalypse, Magneto, Jean Grey.

Compared to those who could even destroy the Earth, Xu Fu's current performance wasn't that shocking.

However, he possessed astonishing potential.

"Child, your talent ranks among the top I've seen among all mutants."

"This is a gift from God, and you must learn to accept it."

"But what you need now is to learn to control it, rather than be controlled by this power."

Charles's eyes were very gentle, with a profound feeling that seemed to see through everything.

Xu Fu felt as if everything within him had been seen through.

"I understand, Professor Charles."

Xu Fu nodded obediently.

In front of this powerful mutant, Xu Fu still needed to maintain the proper respect.

Charles smiled and nodded.

He treated every child at the Mutant Academy equally.

However, those with great talent naturally received more attention.

"Your power is very strong, but if you don't control it, it will only bring danger to yourself and those around you."

"Besides studying, you should learn some combat skills from Logan and learn to control your powers."

Charles made the decision with a smile.

The smile on Xu Fu's face immediately stiffened.

He doesn't want to study! With a body like Superman's, he could get stronger just by lying down.

Learning from Wolverine for half a year wouldn't be as effective as sunbathing for a while.

Study?

Screw studying! He should find a chance to go fishing instead.
