Supreme stepped back, his eyes fixed on the Captain.
"Get the suit ready," he ordered.
The Captain turned and placed the call to the labs. Supreme glanced back at the screen—Wolf was gone.
"Hurry," he demanded.
The Captain's expression darkened with sorrow. "It's not ready yet."
A thunderous crack split the air. The Captain was shot in the face. Supreme gathered his things.
"Fine. I'll go get it myself," he said, calling the lab. "Get it ready right now—and that's an order."
Then he moved as fast as he could. He called his assistant. "Get your ass ready at the window, and bring my jetpack back right now."
Someone tried to step in his way, asking what was going on. A single shot rang out—boom—and the man dropped. Others tried to speak to him as well, but the hallway was filling fast.
"Get the fuck out of my way," Supreme snarled, gunning them down one by one and walking over their bodies without slowing.
At the end of the hall, his assistant stood by a massive window, holding out his backpack. He took it—then kicked her through the glass.
The window shattered, leaving the opening he needed. Without hesitation, he leapt out after her. His jetpack roared to life just as her body struck the ground.
And then—boom—he was gone.
Wolf tore through the sky, bots swarming him like bees on a keeper. They clawed and swirled around him in endless numbers, but his focus wasn't on them. Through his eyes, the AI interface highlighted Supreme's position, marking him as he moved through the city. The target glowed, every calculation drawing Wolf closer.
Boom! Wolf unleashed the Sun Core Blaze, a burning torrent that ripped through the horde, blowing countless bots out of his path and carving a fiery corridor through the swarm.
His boosters roared, surging into full force. With a deafening crack, he shattered the sound barrier, the shockwave blasting through the sky. Bots scattered like shrapnel, thousands of them raining down into the city below—crashing into cars, smashing through buildings, and striking terrified civilians.
A voice crackled in Supreme's ear: "Wolf is closing in—coming fast, incredible speed."
"Shut the fuck up and get my suit ready," Supreme snapped.
On Wolf's side, the AI's cold readout echoed in his mind:
200 kilometers.
100 kilometers.
50 kilometers.
Supreme glanced over his shoulder and caught sight of Wolf in the distance, cutting through the sky like a missile.
"Send all the fucking bots!" he roared.
"We already did."
"Shit… shit…" His teeth clenched. "Why do I always have to get everything done myself?"
Supreme spotted Wolf closing in fast. He dropped low, weaving between the buildings. Glass walls flashed around him as he flew past, catching glimpses of his own reflection. In the shimmer of one window, he saw it—Wolf, closing the gap behind him.
Just as Wolf lunged to grab him, Supreme banked hard, cutting sharp into a building. He burst through the glass and into the interior, flying through hallways and offices, ripping past stunned people like a fly darting through a maze.
Boom! Wolf crashed in after him, bulldozing through walls and corridors without slowing, tearing the place apart as he followed. He cut through the chaos like a shark through waves, locked on his prey, closing the distance with every second.
But Supreme moved like a parkour master—running, vaulting, even sprinting along the walls as he tore through the building's corridors. Behind him, Wolf began to slow, battered by the walls he kept plowing through. Even so, he adapted—grabbing at broken frames and shattered walls, using them to hurl himself forward. He pushed through like a mole clawing at the earth, desperate to reach the food just beyond.
He was relentless.
Wolf came after Supreme like a starving tiger hunting down a deer—every movement fueled by raw hunger, every lunge dripping with rage. And Supreme, fast and desperate, moved with the speed of prey running for its life.
The scene cut to a window—boom! Supreme burst through, shattering glass as he launched himself into the open air like a fish leaping from water for safety. He dropped toward the ground, his movements wild with fear yet sharp with the focus of a man who refused to die.
Behind him, Wolf exploded out of the building, heavier, faster, closing the gap with brutal speed.
They hit the ground. The world went silent.
Then—a flash. A green light cut through the smoke. Supreme soared back into the sky, his suit blazing.
Wolf tore out after him, but the swarm descended—bots raining down to hold him back. Supreme shot forward, racing away. But Wolf only shifted, eyes locking on the next building ahead.
BOOM!
Like a rocket at full thrust, Wolf launched, the force blasting bots out of his path. He ripped forward with such speed and fury that he punched straight through the building itself. Before Supreme could even react, Wolf crashed into him—grabbing his leg mid-flight.
Supreme twisted, eyes wide, and saw the massive hole in the building that Wolf had torn open to reach him.
But Supreme didn't wear a face of fear. No—he smiled.
With a sudden, violent twist, he spun with brutal force and ripped his own leg free. Boom! He shot off into the sky.
Wolf froze for a split second, stunned by the sheer savagery of it. Then he snarled, hurled the severed leg aside, and—boom!—launched himself back into the chase.
Supreme dropped low again, Wolf trailing close behind. He spotted something—and smiled.
A man was scrambling to escape the chaos. Supreme slammed into him without hesitation, driving them both through a wall. The body crumpled as Supreme tore forward, blasting into the building's interior. He shot down the hallways, shoving and kicking people aside like obstacles.
Boom! Wolf burst in after him.
Supreme's eyes locked on a window ahead. Beyond it, just a few miles away, a massive power station loomed. His grin widened, stretching across his face. He launched himself through the window, soaring toward the station like an arrow tearing through paper.
Wolf tried to bulldoze straight through the wall after him—but boom! The structure held. Reinforced, stronger than the others. Wolf slammed into it, stuck in the wreckage for a moment.
Supreme glanced back, smile cutting across his face, and kept flying.
Supreme finally reached the massive power station, a triumphant smile stretching across his face. He dove through an open vent and into the interior, a world of metal and searing energy. He flew over huge, glowing pools of liquid, a bright green substance that shimmered like molten rock. Long metal bridges hung precariously above them.
He shot through a narrow corridor, but the momentum from his jetpack was too much. He slammed into the end of the hall, hitting the ground hard. Ignoring the searing pain, he threw off the useless jetpack and ran, even without his severed leg. He limped forward, fueled by pure, unyielding adrenaline.
People from the lab rushed to his side. They carried him to a fortified room, a frantic team working on his gear.
"Is it ready?" he demanded.
"Yes, sir," a technician answered.
"Get me in! That fucker will get free any second now!"
All around them, large machines hummed and pulsed, circulating the glowing green liquid and converting it into pure energy. Supreme's eyes were fixed on the suit, the final piece of his plan.
Supreme looked at the suit with a wide smile, the huge shape of it reflecting in his eyes.
A scientist stood beside the massive machine, its colossal clawed arm as big as a human. "Sir, we still need to do work before it's fully ready," he stammered.
Boom. Supreme's hand slammed against the man's head, sending him crumpling to the floor.
"Shut up and get me in," Supreme snarled, his eyes never leaving the suit.
Meanwhile, Wolf's mind raced. He had been stuck for only a moment, but it was a moment too long. He thought of the disabled children, of Joe, and of the promise he had made.
I won't... I won't let that son of a bitch get away!
He let out a guttural roar, the sound of pure, unbridled fury. His sun core blazed, cutting through the reinforced walls and melted debris that held him. The building shattered as he blasted himself free, a comet of fire ripping through the wreckage.
"I won't let that son of a bitch get away!" he screamed again, his voice echoing across the devastated city.
Wolf launched himself from the building, the force of his takeoff causing the entire structure to shudder and collapse onto the streets below. He ripped through the sky and shot directly into the power station, blasting past the glowing pools and down a dark, metal corridor.
He couldn't see anything.
Then a huge claw appeared from the darkness before he could react, tearing into his side. Everything sped up, a blur of motion, then a sudden boom as he was sent flying back outside the building.
He landed hard on the ground, a smoking crater where he struck. He looked back at the station. At the end of the long hallway, all he could see was a pair of glowing green eyes staring back at him like a predator.
A voice, now loud and distorted, echoed from the darkness.
"Found you!" it roared, followed by a chilling, broken laugh. "Hahaha... h h h h..."
A voice, distorted and booming, echoed from the darkness. "You're still looking at me with those disgusting red eyes. Don't worry, when I rip out that core, the light will get ripped from your soul, too."
He began to move, and behind him, the sound of something heavy dragging against the ground echoed like a heavy chain.
Wolf shook his head, a searing pain shooting through his side. His core flared.
"Wolf, calm down," a voice said in his mind. It was the AI. "You're overworking the system. You will fail."
"Shut the fuck up," Wolf snarled, his eyes blazing even brighter.
Then, in a flash of green light and a deafening sound, Supreme was in front of him. The Supreme Captain now stood in a towering, 24-foot mech suit with massive claws and long metal pipes extending from its back into the darkness of the power station. In a single, powerful motion, he clapped Wolf aside.
But just as he was about to follow up on the attack with a heavy swing, the long pipe chain snapped taut, pulling him back.
A voice cut through to Supreme's helmet, interrupting his taunting laughter. "Sir, we're detecting a problem. The pipes are at maximum extension. They can't…"
"Why the fuck can't I go farther?" Supreme roared.
"I'm sorry, sir," the voice replied, its tone hurried. "That was what we were trying to warn you about. The machine can only create so much pipe in a short amount of time."
"God damn it!" Supreme seethed. "Oh well. It didn't really matter anyway."
He watched as Wolf got to his feet, a 14-foot machine body dwarfed by the 24-foot monster Supreme had become. But like a honey badger, there was no fear in Wolf's eyes, only a burning anger.
Wolf, seeing that his opponent was tethered, jumped back. He then began to load a sun core blaze, the searing light of it even illuminating the dark hallway.
But Supreme didn't move. A cruel smile stretched across his face.
Like a supernova, the blast of pure heat hit Supreme's suit with full force, creating a massive explosion that even blew Wolf backward.
Wolf slammed into a wall, recovering in a daze. He shook his head, looking back at the smoking figure in the power station. The realization hit him with a jolt: nothing had happened to the suit. It stood there, completely unharmed.
"Ha ha ha!" Supreme's laugh was a cold, manic sound. "Why did I think you would be different? You're just as stupid as all those other half-breeds."
He gestured to the suit. "This was created to withstand the heat of a sun's core. That's why what you have right there is what I need. Look at you," he sneered, "a disgusting half-breed, powered by our money, and I have to stand here and be powered by this green shit fuel."
"Your money?" Wolf's voice cut through the air, filled with a raw, seething fury. "My suit was made by my people on Mars! You don't own shit!"
Supreme laughed, a dry, humorless sound that crackled over the comms. "Who do you think paid to get your half-breeds on that rock in the first place? Look at you, thinking you built something. We invented you. You didn't do shit but exist and slow us down."
His voice grew colder, more menacing. "Look around. This world wouldn't be this perfect if not for the cleansing of your mistakes."
The words hit Wolf like a physical blow. A low growl rose in his chest as his anger reached a breaking point.
Boom! Wolf went for the attack, a blur of red light and righteous fury.
Bang!
Wolf's body, a blur of red and rage, slammed into Supreme. The force of the blow sent them both hurtling through the air. They crashed through the metal railing of a bridge and plunged into the glowing green fossil oil below.
The dense liquid enveloped them, the immense power of the impact sending a massive wave of the oil splashing up around them. Wolf's body, slick with the thick substance, held onto Supreme's suit.
"Perfect world?" Wolf roared, his voice filled with contempt. "What fucking world is perfect when it's built on bones!"
Supreme grinned. "Bones, you say?" He gestured to the oil that surrounded them. "The ones you're standing on right now."
Wolf looked down. In the glowing green liquid, small skulls and bones floated around them, swirling with the movement of the oil. His eyes went wide with dawning horror.
"Billions of humans get born every year," Supreme continued, his voice dripping with condescension. "That means millions of mistakes get born, too. And we can't have mistakes just existing with us, no, no, no. Those disgusting half-breeds will only slow us down. Sending you to Mars cost too much money."
Wolf's eyes were wide as he realized the truth.
Supreme's grin widened into a triumphant leer. "You see, this city isn't built on bones. It's powered by them."
