She motioned for the guards to drag the unconscious man out ,they yanked him out and dump him on the ground like a sack of potatoes.His head rolled to the side, half his face smeared with blood.
She crouched, jaw tight, and with a sharp motion she flipped him onto his back. Her hand brushed his cheek, wiping the blood away.
Her eyes locked on the face beneath.
Shock evident on her face ,
Her lips parted in disbelief, the name breaking free before she could stop it.
"Tobias…"
She staggered a step back, her boots digging into the dirt.
But it lasted only seconds. She straightened again, her features snapping back into stone. Her tone cut like steel when she finally spoke.
"You're going after my brother's men now ??"
Victor stepped forward, shadow swallowing his face under the floodlights. His voice was steady, sharp, each word carved like a blade.
"I'm your brother and denying won't do us any good now ."
