Chapter 13 - chapter 13 : After the escape

A week had passed since Kane's escape, and the empire felt taut, like a wire stretched too tight. Dominic's mind never rested. Every shadow could conceal a threat; every whisper could signal betrayal. That's how he found out about John the mole in his ranks. At first he was disappointed and angry but in this game overtaking is allowed. You kill or be killed but the truth was complicated. John hadn't deliberately betrayed him, he was compelled . Someone from the shadows had kidnapped John's family and was using them to manipulate him.The betrayal was coerced, forced, and Dominic recognized it immediately. Still, the rules of his world were absolute: a compromised man could not stay not now ,not ever !

Dominic summoned John to the edge of the city, away from prying eyes. The sky was heavy with rain, streetlights shimmering on wet asphalt."You didn't choose this, but you had a choice .you could have told me and I would have fought the world to save your family " Dominic said, voice flat, measured. "You are free to go… but under one condition: you solve your own mess. Nobody cleans up for you here."

John's hands shook, eyes wet. Dominic handed him a leather case, thick with cash. "Consider this a severance. Enough to protect your family and vanish. Go."

John swallowed hard, nodding. "Thank you… sir."Dominic didn't respond. He watched John disappear into the night. Mercy was a luxury, but he didn't have room for mistakes or compromises. Not now.

With John gone, Dominic returned to the empire with an even bigger task ,finding the person behind the scene but for now he need his army stronger ,better ,faster and unbeatable.

What better way than the recruits ??

The recruits had passed their final tests, not without a handful of failures .

The notable recruits are Elena, Jay, Mark, Tobias, and Rocco which are assigned their positions behind Dominic ,they are part of his Elite team .The foundation of the empire was solid. Elena now assisted Mark directly with Dominic's work, and she had settled seamlessly into the rhythm of his dangerous, high-stakes world.

And now, at last, he could breathe… at least for a moment....But for now he needs to celebrate little misss stalker .

The penthouse smelled of roses. Amber incense lingered in the corners. The city below glittered like a distant constellation. Elena leaned against the counter, elegant even in the soft light, her fingers tracing the rim of a crystal glass. The tension of weeks of training, tests, and chaos seemed to melt away in this private sanctuary.Dominic entered behind her, the scent of him — leather, cologne, and something darker, more primal — filling the room. She turned slightly, eyes meeting his, and a shiver of recognition passed between them. She knew the storms he carried inside, the careful control he held over everything, and yet… she thrived in it.

"You've done well," he murmured, his voice low, almost predatory. "Everything is in place. The empire… stable. You've earned this moment."Elena's lips curved into a small, knowing smile. She had earned his approval, survived his tests, and still held her ground. There was a dangerous thrill in knowing she had matched him step for stepDominic approached, and their shared space seemed to shrink until it was only the two of them. The music, soft and sultry, wrapped around them as he reached for her hand. Slowly, deliberately, he drew her into the center of the room. They moved together, a slow, intimate dance that mirrored months of obsession, desire, and power play. Elena's head rested against his chest, her fingers tracing the familiar planes of muscle and bone. His hand moved lightly over her back, feeling, claiming, yet restrained — a predator teasing its prey, letting the tension build.

"You've been bold," he murmured into her hair. "Too bold."

"And you like it," she whispered back, tilting her head to look up at him, daring, sweet, slightly unhinged. "I've always liked it."

The city lights glimmered through the tall windows, but all they could see were each other. Elena's obsession had evolved — it was no longer about lust alone. She wanted this world, this power, his approval, his attention, and he, in turn, had found a dangerous solace in her presence, a kind of mirrored obsession that matched his own.

Hours passed like breaths — soft touches, teasing words, slow dancing, champagne tasting, lingering kisses. Every moment was measured, deliberate, intimate. Every touch, every whisper, every shared glance cemented the bond that neither wanted to break.Dominic let her feel the weight of his control without crushing her spirit. She let him see her sweet, psycho obsession, her desire to be more than just part of his world — to stand beside him, survive his chaos, and thrive in it.By the time the night deepened, they were tangled together in bed, warm, entwined, safe in the sanctuary they had carved from the empire's violence and power. Elena's head rested on his chest, and Dominic's fingers lightly traced patterns along her spine.

For once, there were no missions, no ambushes, no betrayals. Just the heat, the obsession, the slow rhythm of two predators learning to inhabit the same space.

But Dominic knew the calm wouldn't last. Threats lurked outside, the mole's shadow still lingered, and Kane's escape was a ticking fuse. This night was a pause before the storm, a rare moment of sweetness in a life dictated by danger and control.

And Elena… she belonged to it all, in ways that even she hadn't yet fully understood.
