Chapter 16 - chapter 16: shadows of obsession

"Let's pay a visit to our special guest shall we ?" Dominic said with that sickening smile .

Jay and Tobias followed Dominic and Elena's lead, hearts pounding, stomachs twisting. What they were about to witness would haunt them.

Inside, Kane was already shackled, sweat streaking his face, his clothes torn and smeared with dirt and blood. His eyes were wide with panic, darting around, trying to find an escape that wasn't there.

Elena leaned against a crate, smiling like a predator. Dominic's hand rested possessively on her back as they surveyed Kane.

"Beg," Elena whispered, her voice soft, sweet—but underneath it carried a razor-sharp edge.Kane's lips trembled. "Please… don't—please, I'll tell you anything—"

Dominic's gray eyes glinted. "Beg, Kane. Beg me to end this."

The words hit like a whip. Kane's desperation twisted into terror. "Please… please… kill me! Just… just end it!"

Elena laughed, soft and melodic. The sound was beautiful, twisted. "Oh, baby, that just makes it better. You think begging makes it easier for us? No… it feeds us. Your fear… your desperation… it's delicious."

Jay swallowed hard. Tobias shifted beside him, pale. Their stomachs churned as they watched her walk up to Kane, tilting his chin up with a gloved hand. She pressed her face close to his, letting her warm breath caress his skin.

"You want this to end?" she whispered in Kane's ear. "Beg. Beg Dominic. Beg me. Make it final."

Dominic's smirk curved. "She's enjoying herself. Don't pretend you're not, Kane. This is your moment… and you're fueling it all."

Kane's knees buckled. "Please… I'll do anything… I'll tell you everything… just stop!"

Elena's hand tightened on his jaw. "Anything? Hmm… we'll see."

Jay felt bile rise in his throat. Tobias' hands were trembling. Neither could move, neither wanted to—but they couldn't look away. The scene was magnetic, horrifying, intoxicating. Kane screamed, his voice raw, vulnerable. Elena and Dominic were in perfect harmony, orchestrating terror like a symphony.

Dominic leaned closer, his lips brushing Kane's temple. "You're weak. You were reckless. And now… you're mine. Every gasp, every plea—it's mine to savor."

Elena's laughter rang out again. "And I'm right here to make sure he suffers beautifully." She pulled out a small, cruel tool—metal, glinting under the dim warehouse lights. Kane's eyes widened further.

"Please… no… please…" His voice cracked.

But every plea, every cry, made Elena press closer, trace a finger along his wound, and Dominic's hand tighten on her waist. They thrived on the chaos, their energy feeding each other. Jay could see the obsession in every glance, every subtle movement. Tobias swallowed hard.

"This… this isn't normal," Jay whispered, voice shaking. "They're… they're addicted to it."

Tobias nodded, unable to speak. He watched Elena twist a knife just enough to draw a reaction from Kane, not to kill him, but to make him squirm, beg, and scream. Dominic's hand ran along her back, grounding her, guiding her, as though they were dancing in this nightmare together.

Kane's pleading grew louder, almost hysterical. "Please… I can't—please stop! I beg you!"

Elena pressed her forehead to his, whispering, "You beg, and it makes me want you more. You suffer, and Dominic… he loves every second of it."

Dominic's low chuckle resonated through the warehouse. "Yes, Elena… show me everything he's hiding. Tear it out of him."

Jay's pulse raced. Tobias' skin crawled. They had heard stories of Dominic's ruthlessness, but this… this was unfiltered, a psychotic ballet of desire and dominance. Kane's terror, far from stopping them, seemed to exhilarate the pair.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Elena stepped back, letting Kane collapse in his restraints, panting and shaking. Dominic ran a hand through her hair, tugging her gently toward him. "Well done," he murmured. "You make chaos beautiful."

Elena leaned into him, whispering something in his ear, and he nodded, dark amusement in his eyes. Kane shivered on the floor, broken and trembling, unable to comprehend why he was alive or why they hadn't ended him.

Jay turned to Tobias. "They… they're insane. And… and perfect for each other."

Tobias swallowed, voice barely audible. "And we… we're just shadows in their world. Nothing else matters. Nothing."

Jay's gaze flicked back to Kane, still whimpering. The irony was sickening. Kane had begged for death, and yet his survival only fueled Elena and Dominic's twisted satisfaction. He realized then—there was no safety, no mercy. Only obsession, and dominance, and chaos.

The warehouse air was thick with adrenaline, fear, and the scent of blood and roses—a combination neither Jay nor Tobias would ever forget. And as Elena leaned against Dominic, brushing a strand of hair from his face with a touch that was tender and lethal all at once, Jay knew one thing

Whatever happened next, whatever challenges they faced—they would always be living in the shadow of Dominic and Elena, and the storm they created together.

His voice cracked as he gasped out, "I… I'm sorry… please… I didn't mean—"

Elena stepped closer, knife glinting, her eyes wild with obsession and fury. "You didn't mean? You betrayed Dominic! You tried to claim Command K! You dared! Tell me—who helped you?"

Kane's lips quivered violently. "I… I can't… I can't say… they'll… they'll destroy my… everything… please…"

Elena's laugh was sharp, almost unhinged. She pressed the tip of the knife against his shoulder and twisted slowly. Kane screamed, the sound raw, desperate, and broken. "You think your fear can save you? Beg! Beg for your life! Feel it! Feel every moment of your failure!"

"I… I beg… I'm sorry… please…" Kane choked, tears streaming down his bloodied face. "I swear… I'll tell you anything… anything else… just… I can't… I can't say their names…"

Elena's strikes became ritualistic, each stab designed to break him physically and mentally. Blood soaked the floor beneath him, dripping from his wounds, but the terror in his eyes was sharper than the pain he endured.

Dominic's hand landed on her shoulder, firm and precise, stopping her before she could overdo it. "Enough, Elena. Let the fear work for us." His icy gray eyes met hers, grounding her chaos, controlling the storm she had become.

He crouched in front of Kane, his voice low and commanding. "You've been broken, Kane. You've apologized, you've begged, and you've been reminded that betrayal carries a price. The names… they remain your burden. You will not speak them."

Kane's body shook violently. Blood dripped from his wounds, his voice barely above a whisper. "I… I can't… they'll destroy… everything…"

Elena's eyes flared with a mix of rage and twisted delight. "Everything? It ends here, Kane. You will not leave a shadow behind."

He gasped for air, vision swimming, blood loss overtaking him. "I… I… I…" His voice cut off as his strength failed. His eyes, wide with terror, slowly glazed over. His body slumped in the shackles, bleeding out on the cold floor.

Elena stepped back finally, chest heaving, knife still in hand. She looked down at him with a dangerous, satisfied grin, the chaos of obsession still flickering in her gaze. Dominic's control remained absolute. Kane's will was broken, his secret safe behind the fear that had consumed him entirely, and his life ended in silence, leaving only the blood on the floor and the memory of the terror he had endured.

Jay and Tobias watched more in awe as Kane took his last breath
