But during his battle with Roger, he encountered a storm and couldn't use his strength, leading to a crushing defeat. His forces were almost wiped out.

A golden figure shot out of the ship, turning into a golden flash, landing on the Moby Dick. The Whitebeard Pirates were shocked, surrounding Whitebeard, watching the golden figure.
Whitebeard waved his hand, telling everyone to back off. Then he laughed, saying, "Guhahaha, Golden Lion, why are you here? Long time no see. I heard you were defeated by Roger."
