Chapter 28: Blood on the Field đșđ„đLia's POV
The field was loud, packed with warriors and villagers, their cheers crashing like waves against my chest. The energy is wild, electric, almost choking. The sound of feet stomping, howls, and shouts blend into one deafening storm that makes my heart pound even harder.
My hands are sweaty, my breathing uneven, and my chest feels too tight. For a fleeting second, I wonder if this is a mistake.
Maybe I should back out. Maybe I should let Grace have her way.
I glance at her. She stands across the dirt field, straight-backed and steady, her expression carved from stone, her body loose but dangerousâlike a predator waiting for the kill. There's no fear in her eyes, only certainty. She's done this before. Probably dozens of times.
Me? This is my first fight.
