Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Crucible and the Compass

The next few weeks were a crucible. Greta's training methods were brutal and relentless. She pushed them to their physical and mental limits. They ran obstacle courses until their lungs burned, sparred until their bodies ached, and held stances for hours to test their focus and willpower. Greta, a Sealbearer of the Path of Will, wasn't just training their bodies; she was testing the core of their Ahenk Law.

Ronan tried to use his wit and charm to navigate the training, but Greta was immune. "Your silver tongue won't stop a blade, Weaver!" she'd roar, sending him sprawling. Liam's quiet patience was a different kind of challenge. He would endure any hardship with a quiet, infuriating calm that seemed to only make Greta push him harder.

In the evenings, Borin would sometimes summon them to his office. These were different lessons. The Captain, a master of the Path of Structure, taught them the theory behind their power. He laid out the seven levels of a Sealbearer, from the passive Fısıltı (Whisper) to the godlike Arketipler (Archetypes).

"Your Ahenk Law is not a set of suggestions," Borin explained one night, pointing to a diagram of the levels. "It is the very foundation of your power. A 'Time' Sealbearer who is impatient, who rushes into things without thought, will find his power flickering and dying. A 'Fate' Sealbearer who believes in pure chance and ignores the connections between events will lose his way. Every action you take either strengthens your bond with your Seal or corrodes it. There is no middle ground."

Liam absorbed every word. For the first time, he was learning the rules of the world he had been thrust into. Ronan, for his part, saw the levels not as a spiritual journey, but as a ladder of power he needed to climb to survive.
