The conversation of the four elders was shocking, almost unbelievable. Their extrapolation did not only concern Terra's history; the planet itself had been attacked by an unknown force before. Even now, the present Terra might still have unseen dangers. A dark cloud seemed to hang over everyone's heads as this was far more threatening than the theory of extinction by artificial intelligence alone.
"The only thing that can reveal the truth now is the past life of the author of Immortal Warrior."
"What about the history of Terra?"
"Only he knows."
"Tony, you must not die yet."
On the Forum, as Tanner's past life memories unfolded, more and more posts surfaced. Earlier, one thread revealed the shape and process of constructing a suit. Users carefully recorded the steps and spread them widely, causing that post to quickly rise to the top of the rankings. Some even claimed to have replicated parts of the design themselves, just to earn rewards and recognition.
But one reply in particular captured everyone's attention. It contained a picture, a setup eerily similar to Tony's arc reactor, and the device was sparking with electricity.
"Whoa! Who is this genius?"
"The original is restored?!"
"Cold fusion, is it possible?"
"Boss, look at this thing!"
In the forum mall. On the real-time sales list, the number one item was shockingly the helmet of the suit. Even more startling, it wasn't an existing product; only a pre-order and delivery would take ten days. Yet already, pre-orders had surpassed 300,000. It shattered the perception of what people thought possible.
Not only the forums, but countless external media outlets were reporting on it. Almost every headline revolved around the equipment and knowledge hidden within Tanner's past life memories. This awakening had shaken the entire Terra Federation to its core.
The memories continued to play.
[ In the studio, Tony stares at the news report on the monitor. The broadcast shows Ivan wreaking havoc at the racetrack. Behind him, his friend Roddy approaches, concerned by Tony's sickly face, "What's wrong with you?" ]
[ Tony stumbles out of the car, nearly collapsing, and Roddy quickly supports him. ]
[ "That box, see it? That's a palladium energy plate." ]
[ Roddy opens the container, revealing the Ark reactor, its surface scorched and smoking, "Should this thing be smoking?" ]
[ Tony says weakly: "The palladium is breaking down, the reactor is poisoning me." ]
[ Roddy stares at the faint scars on Tony's neck, "These marks… what are they?" ]
[ "Radiation burns," Tony muttered. ]
[ Roddy studied him with quiet concern. ]
[ "What are you looking at?" ]
[ "I'm looking at you, Tony. You don't have to bear this alone." ]
[ Tony turned back, forcing a faint smile: "I know what I'm doing. Trust me." ]
The viewers shook.
"His condition… is it that serious?"
"His body is breaking down in real time."
"He's pushing forward with nothing but sheer willpower."
"Look at his veins bursting… he's burning himself alive."
"It feels like… he's speaking to future generations."
"He's using flesh and blood to embody the will of iron."
[ Sunny afternoon, a dessert shop. Tony sits across from a one-eyed man in black. His armor is on, the helmet resting on the table. ]
[Tony mutters: "I don't want to join your so-called team."]
[ The one-eyed man chuckles: "You tried doing everything alone. And what was the result?" ]
[ Tony grimaces: "Should I be looking at your eye or your eyepatch? I can't tell if you're real or just a hallucination." ]
[ The man leans closer, voice steady: "I am the most real person you've ever met." ]
[As Tony adjusts, the marks on his neck become visible.]
["This doesn't look good," The man notes quietly.]
[A woman walks over, his new secretary. Tony lowers his sunglasses, stunned, "You're fired." ]
[ The one-eyed man introduces her: "Tony, this is Agent Romanov of S.H.I.E.L.D." ]
[ "I was assigned to watch you after we discovered your condition," She admits. ]
[ The man adds: "While you've been distracted, I appointed Pepper as CEO, redistributed your assets, and even let your friends wear the suit." ]
[ Tony exhales heavily: "What exactly do you want from me?" ]
[ "It's not about what I want, but what you're going to do. You've become my problem. And trust me, the world doesn't revolve around you; there are graver threats than you in the southwest." ]
[ Agent Romanov injects something into Tony's neck, "Lithium dioxide," She explains. "It will ease your symptoms, but we need you back in the fight."]
[ Tony mutters: "Give me two more doses, maybe I'll feel better." ]
[ "It's not a cure, only a treatment," she insists. ]
[ "Then I'll keep looking," Tony says firmly. "I've tried every element, every formula. There must be an alternative to palladium." ]
[ The one-eyed man stares him down: "No, you haven't tried everything." ]
Inside the Administration, the chief narrowed his eyes. The experts caught several terms from the projection: team, southwest threat, S.H.I.E.L.D. Their shock was equal to seeing a suit soar through the sky.
"S.H.I.E.L.D.? An organization? He's their director?"
"It's probably equivalent to our Administration, with agents and vast resources."
"To create medicine that suppresses palladium poisoning… their science must be formidable."
"And what about this 'team'? Its like an alliance of superhumans."
"Superhumans?"
"But how? This was supposed to be the era of pure technology!"
The heads of the experts rang as if struck by thunder. Two people chatting in a dessert shop, yet the implications were enormous. They had just established that this memory came from Terra's technological age, but in an instant, an extraordinary organization appeared. The group Tony joined. If his power was already that overwhelming, what of the others?
"What kinds of abilities could they possibly wield?!" The thought itself was chilling.
Then Johan suddenly murmured: "Do you think that in this era… they also had a Network?"
Everyone froze, then their faces changed drastically.
