Upon stepping out of the house, Rudy and Leah immediately walked straight to the carriage waiting outside.
There, they found Leah's mom, already waiting for the two of them.
Just like her daughter, Helen was also a demi-human with rabbit ears and a stunning hourglass body that made her look even more beautiful than all the pop star idols and actresses Rudy had seen in his previous world.
Her beautiful silver hair fluttered gently in the breeze and her ears twitched lightly as she focused on what she was doing.
But this wasn't the only thing Rudy admired about Leah's mother.
Helen had single-handedly raised both Rudy and Leah on her own, after losing her husband a few years ago due to a dungeon overflow that destroyed hundreds of houses.
Rudy also lost his parents at the same time because just like Helen's late husband, Rudy's late parents were also adventurers as well.
Helen had been friends with Rudy's mom but since Rudy had no one else to take care of him, Helen welcomed him into her home and the three of them have been living together as a family ever since.
Pushing this thought aside for now, Rudy decided to focus on the present.
He and Leah walked up to Helen, and he greeted her with a small smile on his face.
"Good morning, Aunt Helen."
Helen returned the smile and her long ears twitched lightly as she turned around to face him and Leah.
"Morning, you two. The carriage is ready so let's get going before we're late. Remember we have a long journey ahead of us and we have to be there on time if we do not want to miss the ceremony."
Rudy nodded, and Leah beamed with excitement as the three of them climbed inside.
The wooden seats creaked softly beneath them, and right outside, the steady clop of the horses hooves echoed against the dirt road as the carriage slowly began to move.
Meanwhile, Leah couldn't sit still, and Rudy noticed as her legs kept swinging in excitement and anticipation of awakening her own talent.
Leah had been waiting for this moment for a long time.
She hopes to awaken a really good talent so that she can do her best to support her mother who had been working hard to keep she and Rudy happy.
Her wish was to make her mom very happy in return for everything she had done in raising them, and Leah was confident that she would one day achieved this dream.
As for Rudy, he smiled a bit before looking out of the window.
As the carriage rolled along the dirt roads, Rudy noticed the simple wooden houses within the village which weren't too different from the one he lived in.
Rudy also noticed the vast fields of crops and the farmers working from dawn till dusk as well.
The village was small, with only about 298 people living in it and nearly all of them were farmers, meaning that most rabbitfolk in the village had awakened a non-combat talent related to agriculture.
Also, since the total population of demihumans in the village was below 300, this meant that everyone knew each other very well, and this was why three beautiful female rabbitfolk waved towards Rudy the moment they spotted him in the carriage, heading toward the nearest town.
"Hey, isn't that Rudy and Leah?" One of the three females nudged her friend walking right beside her.
"Oh, is today their awakening ceremony?" The second rabbit girl asked.
"Yeah, I heard they'll be heading over to Tarot Town for their awakening ceremony," The third female added and the other two nodded their heads in understanding before turning back to Rudy and Leah.
They swiftly waved them goodbye while wishing them good luck.
Each of them were holding a heavy basket of purple carrots on one hand but that didn't stop them from waving with their other hand to wish Rudy and Leah luck on their awakening ceremony.
"Good luck Rudy and bring me back a souvenir okay?!!"
"You too Leah, break a leg!!"
"Rudy!!! Once you're back, there's something I need you to do for me, okay?!"
Rudy responded with a nod and he waved his hands back in return, along with Leah.
Even though he hadn't awakened his talent yet, Rudy had somehow managed to get himself a job in the village and that's why one of the three girls needed his help with something once he returns.
The three beautiful rabbitgirls continued to wish them luck until Rudy's carriage faded into the distance.
About an hour later, the carriage had finally entered the outskirts of Tarot Town and Rudy immediately noticed the stark difference between the town and the village he had been living in, for the past seventeen years.
The carriage was parked and Helen paid the entry fee for all three of them before stepping into the city that was filled with the bustling sounds of people along the street.
Rudy and Leah had been living in the village their whole life, so this would be the first time they were visiting Tarot town.
Aside from the fact that most people seemed to be dressed in medieval styled clothing, Rudy also noticed that the streets were packed with demi-humans of different kinds.
He could see dog men, cat girls, and even humans walking side by side and he could also see several stalls lining up the streets with merchants shouting their prices while children ran around and adventurers clad in light armor, chatted near taverns.
The scenes were things he could only ever see in anime or read in novels, but the feeling of seeing all these in real life became surreal for him, but his jaws almost dropped to the ground the moment he noticed people floating and gliding around on flying carpets.
They were casually soaring above the town as if it were completely normal to do so.
"Awesome," Rudy and Leah instinctively uttered the same words at the same time, causing the two of them to swiftly exchange glances.
They both smiled and giggled, and even Helen smiled and giggled as well before saying. "Alright, you two, the cathedral is just around the corner, so stay close to me and try not to get lost okay?" She instructed and Leah immediately replied.
"Okay mom," She swiftly grabbed Rudy's hand so as to make sure he doesn't get lost among the crowds.
Of course, she wasn't doing this because she wanted to feel the warmth of his hand mixed with hers, it was definitely because she wanted to act like a good older sister to him, even though she was only slightly older than him with just two weeks.
Anyways, Rudy didn't say anything about Leah's desire to hold his hand.
In fact, he was even comfortable with it but he was also feeling excited by what he was seeing around him, so he really didn't pay too much mind to what she was doing.
