Chapter 7 - Ryan's Alibi Under Scrutiny

Detective Jameson sat across from Ryan, his eyes fixed intently on the young man. "Ryan, we've been investigating your alibi for the night Emily disappeared," he said. "And we've found some discrepancies."

Ryan's eyes widened, and he shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "What do you mean?" he asked.

"We have a witness who places you at the park around the time Emily disappeared," Jameson said. "Can you explain that?"

Ryan's face went pale, and he stuttered. "I...I don't know what you're talking about," he said.

Jameson's expression was skeptical. "Don't play dumb, Ryan," he said. "We have evidence. Now, I want you to tell me the truth. Where were you that night?"

Ryan took a deep breath, and his eyes darted back and forth. "I...I was at the park," he admitted. "But I didn't see Emily. I was just walking around, clearing my head."

Jameson raised an eyebrow. "At 10 PM? Alone?"

Ryan nodded. "Yeah, I couldn't sleep. I needed some fresh air."

Jameson wasn't convinced. He knew that Ryan was hiding something, and he was determined to find out what it was.

"Ryan, I need you to be honest with me," Jameson said. "If you're involved in Emily's disappearance, now is the time to tell me. If you're not, then help me understand what happened that night."

Ryan's eyes filled with tears, and he looked down at his feet. "I didn't hurt Emily," he said. "I love her. I would never hurt her."

Jameson's expression remained skeptical. He wasn't sure if he believed Ryan's story. He needed more evidence, more information. He decided to keep digging, to see if he could uncover the truth behind Ryan's alibi.

"Ryan, I'm going to need to ask you some more questions," Jameson said. "And I'm going to need to investigate your alibi further. Let's see if we can get to the bottom of this."

Ryan nodded, looking nervous. Jameson could tell that he was hiding something, and he was determined to find out what it was.
