Emily sat back into the chair with a deep sigh. "Trouble would always come knocking at the least expected time."
Melissa and Mirabel exchanged incredulous looks, their faces painted with curiosity and confusion.
Conscious of their inquisitive stares, Emily rubbed her forehead softly, as though that would erase the tension forming there.
"Emily, what trouble is it that came knocking?" Melissa quipped. As far as she knew, this evening was a good one.
Mirabel raised a brow in support, silently urging Emily to spill.
Her gaze flicked between their anxious and curious faces that were practically glowing with excitement like gossip-hungry cats ready to eat lemons for drama.
She sighed helplessly. It was already exhausting to have one Melissa, but it was pure punishment to have another Mirabel around.
With no other options, Emily's lips parted, and three words slipped out of her lips. "CEO Lucian Sterling." She smirked.
