Chapter 14 - Demetric

Almost 2 days

That's the amount of time he needed to reach the academy grounds

Well, It's quite far. Placed near the border, close to the kingdom of elf. The placement was strategical. Filled With a lot of symbolism.

The first one, friendship

The human and the Elf's has been friends for centuries, branching from the the beginning of human settlement. Back then, humans are...weak

And the only option save enough for them to seek for help are Elves, cause their nature based thinking.

They calm, They graceful, and They understand

Also, there was something the elf require from humans, the only thing they lacked

Brawns

Safety in exchange for slavery. But do not worry, they're not violent creature. The way they treat human slave is surprisingly well.

So much so it was more profitable to be enslaved by elf, then to be a baker, or shop keeper

Knowing this, the crown decided to controlled it. Only less then 500 people can become a slave each year. Back then, it's a silent agreement, mainly because human can't afford to lose more people. But right now, after humans populate the continent, it become rules, from the elf side.

Give them more and they fear their hands would taint nature, and 500 is the limit the elves can control, without in need to use more manpower

And this... relationship.... keep getting better and better, for right now, both side can actually trade with trust.

The second of course, for trust

That the human felt so safe they put their future near the kingdom of elves. And also, cause some elf royalty also intent to enter the academy, it gave easier access.

The third, for power

One of the face, is guarding the academy. I'll talk about face later, one thing you should know tho, that they so strong the extend of their power, shall they use it, can at least bring one race to extinction

A sentient nuke

As strong as it may, it also means they can't be controlled

They have rules tho, bound by their own nature

Uncontrollable, but readable

And this, particular face, has a soft spot for younglings, that's why he, on his own accord, allowed himself to sit in academy.

While also defending the border, give them elf in check.

I mean, as not violent as they can be, who knows when their heart enveloped by greed

OK, Back to the placement

Even though i say the academy are close to the elves kingdom border, They still separated by a huge river, Solis river they called it.

One of three main kingdom placed in human kingdom, the one who supply them with water, other two called Alaris and Agaris.

And for easier access, the crown makes a huge bridge pass each of them, a huge monument like building. For easier to transport resources

The river basically separate a few teritory, making conquering human kingdom, harder than it should be

Since, in case of war, they can just...destroy the bridge

Enough talking about kingdoms and it's geography

Lets go back to Altaris

The ones in question, is chilling. Inside his carriage.

The carriage is smaller then Violet's, and instead of pristine white, it was obsidian black. Also lacks the golden embroidery at the side. A decline of quality. The sigil, mask stabbed by a sword. Very sinister looking.

Usually, 2 black obsidian stygian sat at it's helm, pulling the carriage. While also intimidate the surrounding.

But today, 2 milky white horse, with mane as white as snow, a symbol of purity. The setting, tribute for the marquis. Sign of 2 house combining.

The marquis force it, and viscountess has no problem accepting it.

In the side, 2 knights rode their own horse, ready to defend in case something happened. One on the right, stationed by the marquis while carrying his sigil. One in the left, the butler or Altaris master, in disguise as a knight. Looks simple, but if you look hard enough, the firepower of both are no joke.

Even an army of 100 would have a hard time attacking the carriage

A small hidden power, wielded by a small viscount house

A deceiving thought

No one attack them tho

Cause both of them, doesn't matter enough to force the hands of nobles

And that's what Altaris objective are

To get enough power to matter

After all, he got six whole years

Inside the carriage, the guy was enjoying his time.

Altaris, sat calmly in comforting embrace of sofa-like seat. His head tilted, feeling the comfort of the place - who are as cozy as carriage can be, so much so u wouldn't hurt your neck even if you fall sleep while sitting.

His Eyes, altered, between the city view outside the carriage, and the scenery before him

Well, right now Altaris, the lucky guy he is, was being pampered to death by his one and only.

Violet

She sat in his thigh, face straight turned towards him. Her hands ever moving, always rubbing and altering to either his hair, the sofa, his chest or his lips. Sometimes, when the mood came, she closed the gap, her lips touching his. Followed by kiss, she bit his lower lips, their tongue touching, playing, inside their ever connected mouth. Sometimes quick, sometimes for minutes.

She mark him, while he mark hers.

After all, after all this time, they finally alone. Truly alone.

Altaris hands, the man he is, would not stay still. It latch properly, either in Violet hips, or her back of the neck - especially while they kissed. Mostly, he just hugged her, touched their body together as both savoring the sensation.

"She is mine and only mine"

He thought, head spiraled inside unending greed

Occasionally, Violet would tilt her body, especially when their carriage entered a human settlement. Her eyes sailed past the windows. Straight at the towns alive with activities.

Their sight lean upon rows and rows of building. The town of Demetric was no small place. The 4th biggest town in Atrakan. Led by duke Demetric, who, his youngest child, also attend the academy - their classmates soon to be.

There was a lot to see in this city, crowds struggling to make a living. A tavern with drunkard dancing in front, laughing their ass of while looking at the smallest things, a stall filled with child running around - eager to buy whatever they selling, a merchant house - big building swarmed with mercenaries.

The street that known no rest

Looking at it, Altaris interest piqued. After all, there was a lot of things he never had seen before
