Chapter 308 - Infinity Series: Thor's Hammer

"Is this our future?"

Wayne broke free from the mental illusion and looked at the projection of middle-aged Luke who was standing there leisurely waiting for them.

"That's up to you," middle-aged Luke said softly.

"In other words, if we choose to continue resisting, this scene will happen in our universe?" Wayne asked again.

"I don't think you realize the seriousness of the problem, do you?" Although Wayne's tone was calm, Luke still heard his will hidden under the calmness. Grasping the emotional fluctuations of living beings was what he was best at.

"You are threatening me!" Hal said angrily after he came to his senses.

"No, we are saving you." Middle-aged Luke refuted Hal's words.

"We don't need your rescue. We'll be thankful if you don't cause us any trouble." said Aquaman Arthur.

"You really won't regret it? Even if your universe falls into the abyss forever?" A strange look appeared on the face of middle-aged Luke.

"That's alarmist." Hal frowned.

"Really? Has anyone among you studied Luke's energy?" asked middle-aged Luke.

Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor both raised their hands.

"Then you must have recognized the power and complexity of this energy. But I must remind you that even if you are geniuses cursed by knowledge in your universe, there are still gaps in your understanding of this energy.

"I don't know if the Captain has told you, but this energy is a double-edged sword, just like people have good and bad sides, and emotions have positive and negative sides. Its negative side is the abyss," middle-aged Luke said eloquently.

"What is the abyss?" Even the most insensitive person would vaguely sense something unusual after hearing the word "abyss" twice in a row from middle-aged Luke.

"That's a good question. What is the Abyss? It is the most filthy, contagious, and powerful negative energy. It possesses unparalleled powers of devouring, assimilating, activating, and contaminating.

Aren't those Zerg in the mental illusions scary?

But no matter how numerous they are, they are merely food for the Abyss. Even a tiny bit of Abyssal Power is needed to quickly contaminate their entire population and completely assimilate them into Abyssal species.

There is no self, no freedom, only endless suffering and no way to completely eradicate it.

Energy has already taken root and multiplied in your universe. Without our help, you will inevitably face the abyss. Look at those mental illusions. A single Bruder Zerg can leave you helpless. You can only rely on Luke's energy to achieve a certain degree of victory. So how will you deal with the abyss, which is far more dangerous than the Bruder Zerg?

By then, even your universe will become your enemy." Middle-aged Luke spoke in a straightforward manner, saying the most dangerous words.

"How do we know if you're lying to us?"

Hal and the others looked at each other, some of them unsure whether this was a psychological attack or something that might actually happen.

"You will naturally verify whether it is true or not, right? Of course, if some of you are willing to sacrifice yourself and come into contact with the power of the abyss to verify it, I can arrange it. Is there anyone among you willing to stand up and sacrifice yourself? You may not die, but you will definitely become a crazy source of infection." Middle-aged Luke smiled as he glanced at Hal and the others' faces one by one, and replied casually.

"Then why create this energy? I mean, since it's so dangerous." Hal was a little puzzled.

"The road ahead is always dangerous, but we can't help but move forward." Middle-aged Luke rolled his eyes at him. "It's like human technology: it can be used to harvest lives, but it can also serve humanity. You can't accept its good but not its bad. Furthermore, good and bad are, for us, transitional states. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater isn't advisable."

"What do you want to do?" Diana stood up.

"Join us," Luke said without hesitation.

"Looks like we have no choice, don't we?" Wayne shook his head slightly. He could clearly see that everything that had happened in the previous illusion was a thinly veiled warning. The other party didn't care if they knew more. It could even be said that the more they knew, the more powerless they would feel.

An open conspiracy is to tell you everything clearly, telling you what I am going to do next, and you can only watch it happen and be powerless to stop it.

They cannot represent the creatures in their universe, and the civilization on their planet cannot represent the civilizations in the entire universe.

If they don't join, someone else will.

With time locked and their abilities suppressed, even their last known means of a comeback were sealed. Time was not on their side, so they could not unite their forces, let alone make choices for others.

If you can't overturn the chessboard, you can only move step by step according to the opponent's requirements, just like a chess piece.

"No one wants this to happen, right? It's Captain's fault for being stranded in your universe because of an accident. Things have already happened. What we can do is not to confront, but to cooperate." Middle-aged Luke stretched out his hand.

"We need time to think about it." Wayne glanced at his companions, and in everyone's silence, he stepped forward and shook Luke's outstretched hand.

It was a hollow, empty space without any physical touch. After all, what Luke left here was just a virtual projection.

"Of course." Middle-aged Luke nodded indifferently. It wouldn't hinder the advancement of the plan and the acquisition of energy, right?

Time is on their side this time!

"These are the connection devices that connect to your data dimension. Take them with you and you can communicate with us through them.

"If you want to go home, I can send you back now. Of course, you can also stay and visit our world. Perhaps by getting familiar with it, you can find inspiration to break through the impasse." Middle-aged Luke said jokingly, suspending the silver bracelets he assembled from the air in front of Wayne and the others.

"ah!"

Thor's face flushed red, and the veins under his skin bulged out like earthworms. He had almost used up all his strength, but still couldn't lift the magnificent hammer in his hand.

This was a heavy hammer that he had begged for from Luke's collection room out of excitement. He fell in love with it at first sight. He had a strong feeling that he and it would become good friends, just like his Thor's hammer that was broken in the battle with Hela.

But he now has a problem, he can't lift the hammer.

He knew that all divine weapons had their own spirituality and temperament, so he had used everything he had done to treat Thor's hammer, hoping to gain the recognition of this divine weapon, but the other party was unmoved!

Of course, when necessary, it could still seal off some of its power for him to use. But outside of intense combat or mortal danger, the coldness of this hammer gave him a headache.
