Chapter 120 - Emotional Fluid

More than three hours later.

The instrument suddenly lit up green.

Luke, overjoyed upon receiving the news, hurried from another lab and approached the instrument. He saw a tiny, shimmering white bead, shimmering with red, resting quietly at the bottom. However, Luke knew this wasn't a liquid, as people would normally think, but rather a simple crystallization of energy. Or perhaps it wasn't yet a crystal, merely a liquefaction. The energy meter on the instrument confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was a liquefied mass of strange energy.

Luke held out his hand, his skin stained black, and then a long black needle extended from his fingertips.

The needle tip gently penetrated the energy liquid inside the instrument, and a very strange feeling surged into Luke's heart.

anger?

fear?

Hatred?

A myriad of negative emotions assaulted Luke's mind, attempting to assimilate his emotions. Luke could sense the power within the liquid, but under the onslaught of negativity, he struggled to fully control it, gain insight into it, become familiar with it, and wield it. Luke was able to suppress and control the negative emotions, though the sudden surge of negativity gave him the urge to destroy everything before him. The power that surged within him, along with the negative emotions, seemed to prove to him that he could harness it. Perhaps it was precisely because Luke controlled his emotions that he struggled to truly resonate with this power and gain its acceptance.

The black needle tip retracted, breaking contact with the energy liquid.

Luke shook his head. The wave of negative emotions that had just hit him dissipated as if without a source. He glanced at the energy liquid within the instrument; it seemed its volume and energy response had shrunk and collapsed accordingly.

The vampires who were bound around and acted as providers of emotional energy were somewhat bewildered, looking at each other secretly without knowing why.

Luke ignored the private psychological reactions of the vampires. He just knew that the experiment was successful as he had intuitively felt beforehand.

Of course, strictly speaking, according to the original planned standards, this experiment cannot be considered a complete success. It only proves that emotions, feelings, and spirituality can indeed be collected and gathered into a kind of energy, although this energy has various side effects. For example, if negative emotional energy is used for a long time and experienced by people, can a person's mind be stabilized?

Being affected is inevitable, but whether it can be controlled by the user's willpower is an unknown.

Therefore, if we want people to safely use this energy, perhaps we need to add a filter to filter out and weaken the corrosive nature of negative emotions. We also need to consider whether this energy can still maintain its original energy properties and power after being filtered. This is another extended research project.

But no matter what, the most difficult first step has been taken, which also proves that the follow-up for Luke is just a matter of time.

Emotional/spiritual fluid.

This is the name Luke gave to this energy.

The experiment had reached the threshold of success, but Luke still had much further research to do. For example, the filtration device? The properties of positive emotions following negative ones. Are the properties of various emotional energy fluids consistent, or do they differ? Separation technology to separate mixed emotional fluids into a single emotion. Can the mental fluctuations of ordinary people reach the minimum level that the instrument can capture and collect? Prototype upgrades, etc.

After completing these tasks, we also need to consider issues such as the application direction of this energy.

However, the feeling of first encountering this new energy was even more magical, even giving Luke a sense of omnipotence. This was, of course, an illusion. Many people experience this feeling when they are in exceptional physical condition or possess some kind of magical power. But most of the time, this feeling is truly just a feeling. It may help you achieve things you couldn't do before, but it won't truly make you omnipotent.

Haibolun employees found themselves surrounded by metal artifacts resembling tree stumps, both in their workplaces and in the company's many recreational areas. Their reaction to this was that, aside from a few interested individuals who inquired a bit, the rest simply glanced curiously and quickly forgot about them.

But this does not include Miss Gwen Stacy, the quiet host.

"What's wrong?" Gwen had just stepped through the gates of the Heberon Industrial Park when she felt a sharp sensation of quiet restlessness within her body, along with a strong sense of hunger, shared by the quiet body she shared with. She couldn't help but swallow. Even though she had just eaten before arriving, she felt her body frantically sending her signals that she needed to eat.

Gwen quickly pulled the Anjing food container from her pocket and sprayed it onto her exposed arm. This was her experience feeding Anjing over the past few days. However, the immediate effect she'd seen in the past wasn't as strong today. Her hunger had indeed subsided considerably, and the urge to eat was now manageable, but it hadn't dissipated, still stubbornly reminding Gwen: I'm hungry!

"What's wrong?" Peter Parker, who was beside her, noticed that something was wrong with his girlfriend and asked with concern.

"It's Anjing." Gwen replied, and had no choice but to quietly go to a corner, call Anjing out of her body, and feed Anjing all the remaining phenylethylamine preparations in the food box.

"I want a change of pace." An Jing unceremoniously devoured the food without missing a single drop, while complaining unsatisfactorily to Gwen. As for Spider-Man? He automatically moved away when he saw An Jing appear, standing in the distance, watching his girlfriend.

"Your tastes have changed a lot in recent times! Being picky about food is not a good habit!" Gwen pointed out bluntly.

"Why should I eat something worse when there is something better?" An Jing retorted after hearing this.

"But this is your favorite food! You're tired of my dopamine," Gwen frowned.

"I smell it! The air is filled with the sweet aroma of food! It's the same level as the Soul Crystal! The ingredients are even higher quality! It's right here! Not far from us!" An Jing sniffed the air, her face intoxicated. Without waiting for Gwen to say anything, she swiftly scurried back into Gwen's body. Then, as Gwen looked panicked, she forcibly dragged her body towards a short, stump-like metal artifact placed in the center of the lobby.

"This is it. The food inside is tempting me." An Jing looked at the metal craft made of a tree stump with a lid and an unclear view of the inside, and said to his host.
