"Inform Luke. This is his problem, after all. If he doesn't want to be trapped in Heberon by a group of vampires, he'd better help." Although Nick's face was calm, he was still very concerned about the vampires' desperate counterattack. In fact, in Nick's mind, this vampire incident was no less troublesome than the alien "visit".
He had already deployed personnel to closely monitor the vampire strongholds in New York City. After all, the city had a significant number of vampires. It could even be considered a major stronghold for the vampire community. If war broke out, Nick hoped to first eliminate the vampires within the city. Without these vampires within, the outsiders would be able to cause little trouble as long as the authorities could prevent them from entering the core urban area.
Victory will undoubtedly belong to mankind.
Despite the initial setbacks, Nick remained steadfast in his convictions. After all, the vampires' weaknesses were too obvious. This wasn't the Middle Ages, when the vampires were incredibly active and flourishing. Humanity had already mastered immense power. The only thing weighing on Nick and the authorities was the sheer magnitude of the price and impact this would incur.
Stop?
It's impossible to stop!
Even if he, Luke, and the militants were willing to give up and negotiate, if they couldn't resolve the issue of vampires being the raw materials for the longevity potion, then all the talks would be nothing but empty promises. They had stirred up a huge wave, but as the first wave, they had already been involuntarily propelled forward by the waves that followed.
Those so-called militants may have learned about Luke's information from humans and wanted to get rid of him and even themselves, but they had no idea that once Pandora's box was opened, even if Luke and themselves were not there now, the vampires could not return to their previous position as intelligent creatures like humans.
"That kind of talk probably won't scare him, sir," Agent Hill said helplessly. "At worst, the entire Heberon staff can transform into werewolves. I don't believe Heberon doesn't have a stockpile of werewolf potions."
"Don't say that," Nick glared at Agent Hill. Who would want to hold a werewolf and vampire get-together within their own company unless absolutely necessary? Osborn Industries was just a lizard man, a little spider, and a symbiote, yet that gloomy Norman Osborn had been slamming it on the headlines for two days.
"Who is in charge of the tycoon now?" Nick saw that Agent Hill had straightened his attitude and asked about another problematic person who had been on his mind.
"Agent Phil Coulson." Hill answered quickly.
"Have Agent Phil Coulson inform Stark of the news. Those two brilliant minds might be able to prepare some decisive weapon for us." Nick grinned. "After all, this is the first time I've seen such a large-scale gathering of vampires causing trouble since I became Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. I have to show some seriousness."
…
"Come here, come here."
George Stacy waved to his officers. Beside him were familiar faces from Heberon, along with a few familiar boxes with the Heberon logo—a sci-fi city pattern.
"Boss, is this Heberlen's new weapons sponsor?" A police officer came up boldly, smiled and asked.
"New weapons, new bullets." George Stacy's face was serious. He glared at the approaching police officer, causing him to retreat awkwardly. Then he said, "The latest news! The city may be unsafe at night these days. There may be martial law for a few days. We need to take responsibility for the safety of our jurisdiction."
"Of course." The officers had no objection. Wasn't the Heybollen staff and family quarters the most important part of their jurisdiction? It was precisely because of this that they were the first in the entire NYPD to benefit from Heybollen's various technological benefits! Many of them had a favorable impression of the generous Heybollen.
"According to the previous rules, everyone comes up to collect their own share. Then you can use your gun today. Remember to read the instructions before use." George Stacy patted the box beside him, signaling his subordinates to follow the rules.
Someone stepped forward to maintain order, and the police officers lined up skillfully, waiting to receive their equipment.
Director George Stacy returned to his office with the familiar faces of Heberon.
"I still can't believe it, Mr. Thomas." George Stacy said with a slightly vague tone after making a cup of Anto Thomas's favorite black tea.
"In fact, I couldn't believe it when I heard the news." Anto Thomas skillfully added a spoonful of sugar to his black tea, took a sip, and replied with a smile.
"Vampires, oh my god! I always thought they were just made-up creatures, used to scare children." George Stacy scratched his hair. He felt that this once familiar world had suddenly become unfamiliar. If even vampires existed, then could those legendary gods also exist?
Are those illusory things really false? He used to be a staunch materialist!
"All I can say is that this world holds many secrets. All we can do is protect ourselves and our families." Anto Thomas shrugged. "It's best for you to have your family members stay home after dark these days and not sneak out. Keep some silver cutlery handy."
"Oh, yes, I have to call Gwen and tell her to come home early tonight!" George Stacy thought of his daughter who was going to Heberon to work and study after school.
"Miss Gwen has been given leave," Anto reminded. "Those bullets are special ultraviolet bullets. According to the research department, they can easily kill vampires. The accompanying firearms have two firing modes: normal, which fires the bullet until it hits the target, eliminating the target. The other is a shockwave mode, which detonates the fired bullet nearby, causing ultraviolet damage to vampires within a five-meter radius!"
If a police officer is being held at arm's length, this mode can save their life. Remember, ordinary bullets can hardly harm vampires; they have powerful self-healing abilities and are very fast. If you sense something is wrong, don't hesitate, shoot immediately!
"I've got that." Director George nodded seriously. He planned to convey exactly what Thomas said to his subordinates.
"Finally, this is a personal gift from Mr. Field." Anto solemnly pulled out a silver-white metal syringe from his pocket and placed it in Director George's hand. "This is a transformation potion produced by the Heberon Laboratory. It can grant you immense power for a period of time! It can save lives in critical moments! Originally, it was only provided to certain special departments."
"Thank little Luke for me." George held the injection tightly in his hand.
