Luke's private villa.
Luke, having arrived with his men, strode towards the door and pushed it open. He was met by a one-eyed figure seated on a sofa. He was staring at Rude, who was half-crouching a meter in front of him. Though the one-eyed figure with the black eyepatch appeared composed under Rude's fierce gaze, his solemn posture, his statue-like stillness, and his unblinking gaze at Rude all suggested that his inner composure was less than apparent.
Hearing the door open, the one-eyed man quickly turned his head and saw Luke striding in with his clothes fluttering. He obviously relaxed a little.
"Can you please let this big guy stay away from me? I have no ill intentions." The one-eyed man was about to stand up when he was startled by Rude who also stood up and bent over as if to pounce. He quickly steadied himself, sat back down and raised his hands to indicate that he had no ill intentions.
"I don't think it's a goodwill act to break into someone's private residence without their permission." Luke recognized the man by the iconic one-eye and bald head, and knew that his previous actions had indeed worked. But that didn't stop him from teasing him a few times.
"I can explain." Nick Fury felt helpless. He really just wanted to make a show of force, using S.H.I.E.L.D.'s technical strength to tell Luke that he shouldn't be arrogant, and then take the opportunity to use some means to see if he could recruit the other party.
After learning of Luke's whereabouts and confirming his high probability of returning to his villa near the Hyperion Industrial Park tonight, Nick Fury decided to strike first. Entry to the villa was smooth, with S.H.I.E.L.D. agents decoyed and dismantled the security detail. While the villa's intelligent control system required some maneuvering, it was still quietly disabled despite S.H.I.E.L.D.'s intelligent systems and technological blockade.
After making sure that there were no other signs of life in the villa and confirming that it was safe, Nick Fury swaggered into the villa. Soon he encountered this big mechanical dog with smooth lines, a silver-white body, and a very intimidating look.
After the other party's claws effortlessly scratched a few claw marks on the metal plate, Nick Fury gave up many of his little tricks and became much more obedient. Obviously, he also realized that the huge mechanical dog staring at him was quite intelligent. He suspected that it had a certain level of intelligence.
This made him think more highly of Luke's technical ability, at least to the same level as Tony Stark.
"I have my ID in my breast pocket. I'm the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., and given the circles you're in, I think you should know what kind of organization S.H.I.E.L.D. is." Nick Fury said softly, "You can check my identity and ID."
Lark, who followed Luke back, put the big metal box in his hand on the ground after receiving a signal from his boss Luke. He walked up to Nick Fury and, following Nick Fury's eye contact and verbal instructions, searched a bunch of documents from him.
"It looks like you have many identities. You have certificates from so many departments." Luke was speechless as he watched Lark flip through several certificates and walk closer to show them to him.
"As part of my job duties, I sometimes need to borrow the identities of other departments. But I guarantee that the documents are all authentic." Nick Fury shrugged.
"So what's your purpose?" Luke asked, motioning for Lark to put the ID back into Nick Fury's pocket.
"Before I tell you why I'm here, I'd like to ask, do you know what kind of organization S.H.I.E.L.D. is?" Nick Fury asked without answering Luke. Without waiting for Luke's response, he continued, "This world isn't as simple as it seems. There are many disasters in this world that people cannot understand or solve. S.H.I.E.L.D. is the organization specifically responsible for dealing with these dangerous things."
"But this is still not enough. I want to build an elite team that is powerful, has no weaknesses, and can solve bigger problems. I am very optimistic about you." Nick Fury looked at Luke sincerely with his intact single eye.
"It's not very credible." Luke certainly knew that Nick Fury had hidden a lot and didn't say it out loud, but he didn't care. He didn't think about joining the big boy organization that Tony mentioned now.
"I guessed you would refuse. Like Tony, you always don't want to be bound by constraints." Nick Fury spread his hands helplessly: "Believe me, no one in this organization orders anyone else, and you are not affiliated with S.H.I.E.L.D. You can still do your own things normally, and you will only take action in some extremely troublesome matters."
"I still refuse." Luke's two consecutive rejections without hesitation made Nick Fury's expectant expression stunned.
"What if I give you an order? A massive, generous one, even more generous than the previous military order!" Nick Fury, left with no other options, finally pulled out his trump card. He knew both Heberon's style and weakness over the past five years. Their style was constant technological advancement and expansion, their weakness was their need for vast sums of money. The annual investment in research and development was astronomical, yet they still couldn't cover their expenses.
So generally speaking, if you talk to Heybollen about money-making business instead of other business matters, they will become particularly easy to talk to.
"Then I can consider it."
"What?"
Luke's answer made Nick Fury a little unstable.
"I said I could think about it," Luke repeated.
"That..."
"Then have someone contact the Heberon Commercial Department later," Luke interrupted Nick Fury, speaking briskly. With the SHIELD order and the future of the new energy enterprise, he had plenty of money to invest.
"Okay, okay." Nick Fury was startled by Luke's sudden change, but he quickly recovered. He glanced at Rude, who had squatted down again, and tentatively stood up. When he saw that Rude hadn't made any more attacking moves, he relaxed a little and said to Luke, "Then I wish us a happy cooperation. I'm leaving now."
"I'm afraid the Director can't leave yet." Luke's words made Nick Fury subconsciously alert, and he reached out to grab the gun hidden at his waist.
"Why?" Nick Fury stared at Luke's face with his single eye, trying to judge his thoughts based on the expression on his face, but Luke's expression was normal and calm, just a little gloating.
Soon, Nick Fury didn't need Luke to explain, because a capable middle-aged man in police uniform strode in with his men: "Too arrogant! Too arrogant! Little Luke, I will never let the intruder have a good time! Is it him? Cuff him and take him away!" At the end of his words, Director George Stacy who came in looked at the astonished Nick Fury on the side. He used his professional instinct to guarantee that he sensed an unusual and dangerous aura from this man.
Nick Fury watched helplessly as two connected bright silver metal rings were handcuffed on his hands. Even with the state of mind he had trained over the years, he was still a little overwhelmed by the scene before him.
"Did you call the police?"
"Look at what you said. If I encounter bad guys, isn't it normal for me to call the police?" Luke stepped aside and watched Nick Fury being taken away by a group of police officers. He couldn't be worried. He didn't think Nick Fury would suffer a big loss. He might be taken out by S.H.I.E.L.D. people as soon as he entered the police station.
Business is business, but if someone breaks into your home without permission, you still have to follow the necessary procedures.
