Chapter 58 - Chapter 58 – The Shocking Roar, the Outburst

In the Soul Society, there were indeed Zanpakutō with summoning abilities—blades that could call forth monsters or other entities. Such powers weren't unheard of. Among the captains of the Gotei 13, there was even one whose Zanpakutō could summon the colossal Tengen Myō'ō.

Upon its initial release, Zanpakutō could manifest parts of Tengen Myō'ō's body—massive arms, or a giant weaponized form of the blade itself. At full Bankai, it could call forth the complete Tengen Myō'ō, but never more than one summon at a time.

Similarly, another captain wielded a Zanpakutō capable of summoning a beast, yet even with Bankai, he could only maintain a single creature.

And yet… here was Aoyama, with both Kong and Godzilla standing before him. The sight left many confused. He hadn't even achieved Bankai, nor did his power reach the level of a captain. How could he possibly summon two creatures simultaneously, both under his control?

That was the real problem: despite not reaching captain-class strength, he had manifested two summons. Worse still, each of them possessed power on par with a seated officer—perhaps even a lieutenant.

Kong was raw, brute strength—nothing but pure physical violence and overwhelming force. His massive axe swings carried terrifying power, yet he still couldn't so much as scratch Ichimaru Gin. At best, Kong's strength was nearing lieutenant-class.

Kenpachi had gone easy on him before, only entertaining himself out of boredom, which had given Aoyama a chance to fight. But Ichimaru Gin was a different story. Among the captains, his strength ranked near the top. If Kenpachi had taken things seriously, Aoyama wouldn't have had the slightest chance.

Now the battlefield roared with even more intensity than before. Where once it was one man and one beast, now it was one man commanding two titans. Kong's brutal axe swings met Gin's Zanpakutō head-on, while Godzilla's claw strikes, glowing with energy, shredded apart the cutting waves Gin sent forth, forcing him back. Gin had no choice but to release his Zanpakutō.

Even though it was only Shikai, it was still enough to show he was taking this fight seriously. To force a captain into releasing his Zanpakutō—Aoyama could take pride in that.

Aizen Sōsuke, meanwhile, was quietly analyzing. His sharp gaze never wavered as he studied Aoyama's blade. What kind of Zanpakutō is this? How many summons can it call forth at maximum? And what abilities will each creature possess?

For Aizen, the unknown was always more fascinating than something already understood.

Tōsen Kaname, standing silently at his side, tightened his grip on his blade. If Aizen gave the order, he would strike without hesitation.

Ichimaru Gin's sly eyes narrowed.

"To push a captain to fight seriously… Aoyama-san, you're more impressive than I thought. No wonder Captain Aizen took an interest in a newcomer like you. At first I found it odd, but now… I suppose it makes sense."

Aoyama swung in a wide arc, his blade missing Gin as he pulled back, leaving room for Godzilla to strike. His voice rang with defiance:

"Your condescending tone… Do you really think, just because you're a captain, you can crush me whenever you please?"

Kong surged forward with a roar, the energy around his axe flaring violently as it smashed against Gin's swiftly extending Shinsō. The blow detonated with force, Kong pressing his chest forward to overpower him.

At the same time, Godzilla let out a low growl, energy coursing along his claws as he raked along Shinsō's length, aiming directly for Gin's wrist in an attempt to tear the weapon from his grasp.

The two towering beasts—both over four meters tall—looked as if they were ganging up on Gin. But despite appearances, they were the ones being outmatched. Size was not strength. Their bulk meant nothing against Gin's speed and precision.

In an instant, both axe and claw were brushed aside by Gin's blade. His lips curled into a fox-like smile as he stepped in with Shunpō, his Zanpakutō thrusting forward.

"Careful now," he whispered.

Killing intent surged.

Aoyama barely had time to tighten his grip on his sword before a sharp pain bloomed in his chest. He looked down in shock—the blade had pierced clean through him.

Gin slowly withdrew his Zanpakutō, smiling that sly, vulpine smile. With a swift turn, he lashed out at Kong and Godzilla. The cold flash of his blade swept like wind, sending both monsters flying backward.

Aizen shook his head gently. It's over. Time to close the curtain.

Kong skidded across the ground, his axe dragging deep trenches in the dirt like a plow gouging the earth. By the time he steadied himself, Godzilla too had regained his footing. His dorsal plates began to glow, light flickering across his massive back as an overwhelming aura erupted.

Gin halted mid-step, his eyes narrowing at the sight.

"…Is he about to use an ability?"

Just as Zanpakutō wielders had abilities, so too could the beasts summoned by them.

For instance, Kurotsuchi Mayuri's summoned creature possessed terrifying powers—poison mists and rapid regeneration.

"Roooar!"

Kong suddenly hurled his axe with all his might—a final, desperate strike. If it missed, he would be left with no weapon.

At that very moment, a piercing glow gathered in Godzilla's maw. Gin instinctively raised his blade in defense, sensing that the beam about to fire was no ordinary attack.

Clutching his bleeding chest, Aoyama staggered to the side, his eyes wide. He recognized that glow instantly—Godzilla's ultimate attack. The energy was compressed inside its mouth, condensed into a single devastating cannon.

It was like a Tailed Beast Bomb.

"ROOOAR!"

Godzilla unleashed the beam, the condensed energy lancing forth in a blinding torrent. The light intensified, its power growing more violent with every passing second.

Aizen's brow furrowed slightly as he analyzed.

"…Not pure spiritual pressure. It's something else, interwoven. A unique energy generated within the summon itself… It amplifies the destructive force."

The beam ripped forward like a catapulted star, fragments of energy scattering outward. Small streaks of power shot past, pelting the ground around Aizen and Tōsen.

Tōsen immediately raised a barrier of reiatsu, blocking the stray energy. His blade half-drawn, he spoke urgently:

"Lord Aizen, this is too conspicuous. If we don't suppress this, Head Captain Yamamoto will surely sense it."

Aizen simply waved a hand, his calm voice carrying quiet authority.

Don't be so tense, Kaname. I already made preparations on the way here. No one will notice this battle unless someone deliberately reports it to Captain Yamamoto. And I doubt anyone here intends to do that… am I right?
