"Sona, I'll be counting on you from now on."
Tenra leaned in, whispering at her ear, then stood with a satisfied smile and left the student council room.
Sona slumped in her chair, a wry smile tugging at her lips.
So this is what I've come to… Fallen, indeed.
Back in the classroom, Tenra greeted a few familiar faces before sinking into his seat, mood light and easy.
"Ara ara, Tenra looks awfully pleased with himself," Akeno teased, eyes twinkling.
Rias sniffed the air, her cute little nose crinkling suspiciously. "Why do I smell Sona on you…?"
Tenra's eye twitched. He froze.
Seriously? I just settled things with Sona, and you two are already this sharp?!
Women's intuition was terrifying—Tenra had never felt it so acutely. But his thing with Sona couldn't go public yet. After a heroic effort at distraction, he finally steered Rias and Akeno away from the topic.
The day slipped back into its familiar, lazy rhythm—dozing through lectures, passing notes to the girls. That quiet, easy feeling was unexpectedly nice…
After school, at the kendo club—
"Alright, that's enough for today."
Tenra watched as the girls half-heartedly swung their swords, and he couldn't help but shake his head.
Post-holiday syndrome, clearly. Who knows what kind of wild adventures these girls had during summer break.
Packing up, the girls bid Tenra goodbye and headed out in groups. Only one lingered behind.
Aika Kiryuu.
Once the coast was clear, Aika locked eyes with Tenra, grinned, and launched herself at him, nuzzling against his chest.
"Behave yourself!" Tenra grumbled, swatting away the hand that had already snuck under his shirt.
"Captain, you're so cruel! Already tired of me?" Aika whimpered, eyes big and watery. "Wuu wuu, I'm so pitiful…"
Watching her play the damsel in distress, Tenra felt a wicked heat flare inside.
This damn little minx…
He didn't bother with words. Instead, he scooped Aika up and carried her straight into the club's rest room.
He wasn't about to go all the way with her—yet. But everything else was fair game.
It didn't take long before Aika's surprised yelps echoed from the room, quickly melting into softer, far more suggestive sounds…
So much for the dojo's sacred purity—corrupted by a pair of shameless troublemakers.
And somehow, this felt like only the beginning…
Night fell. Somewhere in Kuoh Town—
"Uu… this is so scary…"
On a cold, deserted street, a bespectacled girl hurried along, head down and heart pounding.
She'd gotten held up by errands, and now regret gnawed at her. The shadows felt deeper, the silence heavier—she'd never noticed how creepy her usual shortcut home could be.
Suddenly, footsteps echoed behind her. She jumped, nerves stretched taut. But when she saw a handful of people emerging from a side alley, relief flooded her.
Thank goodness—other people. Maybe I won't be so scared now.
But then…
Why were they walking straight toward her? Why were they closing in?
"Um, excuse me… can I help you?" she asked, voice trembling.
"Little girl, didn't your parents ever tell you not to walk alone at night?"
The speaker was a middle-aged man, voice rough and low. His eyes gleamed as he sized her up—like a wolf eyeing a lamb.
"Wh-what do you want? Are you… bad people?"
She clutched her chest, anxiety rising.
The group exchanged glances, then broke into sinister laughter.
"Keh keh keh, that's right—we're bad people!"
For a moment, the girl just stared. Then terror washed over her face.
"Ahhh… bad—bad people! You're all bad people!"
"Don't hurt me! Whatever you want, I'll give you! Take everything!"
Panicked, she fumbled for her valuables—coins, bills, lip gloss—throwing them at the group in a desperate bid.
But then, a book tumbled out. The title: Swaying Roses, the cover showing two handsome men locked in a passionate embrace…
"…"
The air went dead silent. The girl snatched the book back with lightning speed.
"Haha… you probably don't want this one, right?" she mumbled, cheeks burning under the group's judgmental stares.
"We don't need any of that," another man said, voice flat.
"You don't want my stuff? You're not here to rob me? Then… then you must want…"
Horror dawned. The girl's eyes went wide.
They're not after my money—they're after…
Me!
"Wuu wuu… no! I know I'm cute, but please let me go!"
"I don't want you tearing off my clothes! I don't want you violating me!"
"I'll break! I'll completely break!"
"Ahhh…"
She spun into a frenzy, flailing and screaming. Maybe it was her imagination, but beneath the terror, there was a spark of…
Excitement?
"Enough! Shut up, you depraved little human!" one of the men barked.
The girl clamped both hands over her mouth, tears streaming down her face, looking utterly pitiful.
"Don't be afraid, little girl. We don't want your things, and we won't harm your body," the first man said, smiling. But there was something off—something chilling—about that smile.
She was scared senseless, but couldn't help mentally scoffing. Yeah right. Not robbing, not assaulting—acting like you're good guys!
"Th-then what do you want?" she asked, voice barely above a whisper.
The men exchanged glances, then grinned wickedly.
"Keh keh keh… what we want is—"
"To eat you!!!"
Their bodies twisted and grew, transforming in a flash into monstrous, hulking beasts.
A cold wind swept through the street. The girl's eyes fluttered, and—
She fainted dead away.
