The night wind cut through the city, sharp and cold. Atop a high-rise, a lone girl stood, her silhouette framed by the neon glow.
Black wings unfurled behind her, elegant and menacing. On her flawless face, a cruel smile lingered.
Raynare—fallen angel, currently masquerading as Yuuma Amano.
"Raynare-sama, everything's ready."
Three figures emerged from the shadows:
A blonde girl in cosplay, a tall blue-haired beauty, and a trench coat-clad gentleman—Mittelt, Kalawarner, and Dohnaseek. Fallen angels, all.
"Good work, Mittelt, Kalawarner, Dohnaseek."
Raynare's tone was icy.
"Raynare-sama, Tenra Kamiyo is incredibly strong. The four of us might not be enough…"
Kalawarner's voice wavered, uncertainty etched in every syllable.
"We have to be."
Raynare's gaze hardened, her lips twisting into a snarl.
"No one is going to stop me from earning Azazel-sama's love. Not you. Not him. Not anyone!"
Her voice rose, nearly a scream. The others shrank back, silent, cursing her madness in their hearts.
Crazy woman.
But just as quickly, Raynare's rage melted into a dreamy smile.
"Azazel-sama, wait for me. I'll kill him, deliver his Sacred Gear to you. I'll finish your mission and win your love!"
Her laughter echoed across the rooftop, manic and wild.
—
The next morning, at the park—
"Sorry to keep you waiting, Yuuma-san."
Tenra approached, finding Raynare already there, dressed up and looking the part.
"No, no, I just got here early," she replied, voice soft.
"Tenra-senpai, shall we start our… date?"
Her cheeks flushed, she played the shy girlfriend perfectly.
Tenra's lips curled. His eyes narrowed with amusement.
"Sure. Let's begin."
Aquarium. Amusement park. Movie theater. They wandered the town hand-in-hand, laughter and playful banter trailing behind them. At first, Raynare kept her distance, but by midday, she was clinging to Tenra's arm, her act flawless.
It looked like a perfect date—two hearts, one story.
But both knew it was a performance.
"Tenra-senpai, look! Isn't that beautiful?"
As the sun dipped low, Raynare pressed her face against a jewelry store window, eyes sparkling with longing.
"If you like it, go pick one out."
Tenra's hand found her forehead, a gentle gesture that felt almost natural after a day together.
"You're the best, Tenra-senpai!"
For a moment, a cold glint flashed in her eyes, but Raynare quickly masked it with a sweet smile and dashed inside.
Tenra watched her, amused. He stifled a yawn and leaned against the wall.
She's persistent. How long can she keep this up?
Bored, Tenra scanned the crowd—then froze.
Silver hair. Petite frame.
Koneko Toujou.
Not now.
Tenra quickly turned away, hoping to avoid notice, but luck wasn't on his side.
"Ha… haha… Koneko-chan! What a coincidence. What brings you here?"
His smile was painfully forced.
"Handing out flyers."
Koneko's voice was soft, her expression as blank as ever. She held up a thick stack of devil summoning flyers.
"And what are you doing here, Tenra-senpai?"
Her head tilted, eyes unwavering.
"Uh, I'm…"
Tenra fumbled for an excuse, but before he could finish, Raynare emerged from the store.
"Tenra-senpai, look! Isn't this bracelet gorgeous?"
She hugged Tenra's arm, showing off her prize with innocent delight.
Tenra's mouth twitched. For once, he felt genuinely flustered.
Koneko stared at Raynare.
"Who are you?"
"I'm Yuuma Amano, Tenra-senpai's girlfriend. What about you, little sister?"
Raynare's smile was radiant, her performance impeccable.
Koneko glanced at Tenra, her expression unreadable. Then she turned on her heel and walked away.
"Koneko-chan, where are you going?"
Tenra called after her.
Without turning, Koneko replied flatly, "I'm going to tell President and Akeno."
And with that, she vanished into the crowd.
Raynare turned to Tenra, eyes wide with feigned concern.
"Did I cause you trouble, Tenra-senpai?"
Tenra struggled for words.
"No… not at all…"
As if nothing had happened, they continued their date. By the time they returned to the park, the sky was dark. The earlier bustle had faded; now, the place felt cold and empty.
"Tenra-senpai, I had so much fun today."
Raynare spun by the fountain, her voice light, angelic.
"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. But I think our little game is over."
Tenra's eyes narrowed, his tone gentle but resolute.
The park fell silent. Raynare blinked, feigning confusion.
"Tenra-senpai, what do you mean?"
Tenra massaged his forehead, exasperation creeping in.
"Haven't had enough fun yet, fallen angel Raynare?"
His words hung in the air, echoing between the trees.
Raynare stared at him, then broke into a wicked grin.
"Hehehe… so you figured it out, Sacred Gear Plunderer. Impressive."
Her voice was sharp, mocking.
"But you're an idiot, you know? Even after you realized, you still followed me here."
With a rush of wind, black wings erupted from her back. Her clothes shimmered and vanished, replaced by a scandalously tight SM outfit. Raynare floated above, eyes cold and merciless.
She was surprised Tenra saw through her, but now that he was here, it didn't matter.
"Hah… Raynare, whatever your plan was, I actually had fun today. If you leave now, I might just let you go."
Tenra's words were casual, almost bored.
Raynare's face darkened.
"Arrogant fool! Come out!"
Three figures appeared—Mittelt, Kalawarner, Dohnaseek—spreading out to encircle Tenra.
"Phoenix onii-chan, I don't want to kill you, but for Raynare-sama and Azazel-sama, you'll have to die!"
Mittelt's tone was playful, but her eyes were deadly.
"So he's the one who stole all those Sacred Gears from the fallen angels and the Church? Unbelievable!"
Dohnaseek looked at Tenra as if he were a monster.
Kalawarner said nothing, but her gaze was wary, locked onto Tenra.
Tenra shook his head, almost pitying them.
"You really think you're enough to take me down?"
Raynare, Mittelt, Kalawarner, Dohnaseek—at best, they were mid-tier devils. To challenge him with this lineup… They were underestimating him. Badly.
