Chapter 54 - 《DXD: Infinite Loot System》Chapter 54: Please Go Out With Me

Kuoh Academy, Student Council Room—

"So, you want Tenra Kamiyo to be your club president?"

Sona Sitri's gaze swept over Tenra and the girls behind him—Murayama, Katase, and Aika Kiryuu. Her expression was a curious mix of amusement and skepticism.

"Yes, President! Please!"

Murayama and Katase bowed deeply, their voices earnest.

"And your answer, Kamiyo?"

Sona's focus shifted to Tenra.

"When a group of girls this passionate about kendo asks for help, it's hard to just turn them down."

He sighed with a hint of resignation. "I'll try being their president for a while. Let's see how it goes."

It sounded like a hassle, but with nothing else demanding his time at school, guiding these girls in swordsmanship might actually be enjoyable.

Murayama and Katase beamed with delight. Sona, meanwhile, pushed up her glasses, a subtle smile tugging at her lips.

So, he's got a gentle side after all…

"Normally, club presidents need student council approval," Sona said, "but for you, we can make an exception."

"Tsubaki."

"Yes, Sona-sama."

At Sona's call, Tsubaki Shinra stepped forward, handing Tenra a stack of forms. He filled them out, stamped them with the council seal, and just like that—he was officially the kendo club president for the year.

With business concluded, the group offered their farewells and left the council room.

"Awesome! Let's go tell everyone the good news!"

Murayama and Katase were practically bouncing as they exited.

"Go ahead. Now that I'm your president, I'll make time every day to help you train."

Tenra's smile was genuine as he watched their excitement.

"Yes, Tenra-senpai—no, President!"

They bowed again, then dashed off, eager to break the news to the club.

Tenra turned to find Aika still lingering nearby.

"Kiryuu-san, aren't you heading back?"

"I should, but… see you tomorrow, President!"

She grinned.

"President?"

"Hehe, I just signed up for the club. I'm a member now, too."

Aika winked. "Looking forward to working with you, handsome President!"

Tenra just shook his head, half-amused, half-exasperated.

Naturally, news of Tenra's new position reached Akeno and Rias in no time. Akeno teased him with her usual sparkle, while Rias just pursed her lips and let it pass.

She'd considered inviting Tenra to her Occult Research Club, but now that he was leading the kendo club, she let it go. Besides, her club was mostly for gathering her peerage—outsiders really didn't fit.

"Tenra-sama!"

After school, Tenra and Yubelluna's group made their way to the middle school wing. Ile and Nel came running, throwing themselves into Tenra's arms with bright smiles.

"Time to head home."

He gathered both girls up, nuzzling their cheeks with a fondness that made them giggle.

As usual, Tenra prepared to walk everyone home. But before they'd gone far from the gates, a girl stepped out to block their path.

She was petite, with a delicate, innocent face, dressed in a different school's uniform and clutching a book bag. The moment Tenra saw her, he froze—then his expression shifted, caught between recognition and disbelief.

"Hey, lady, you're in our way!"

Ile and Nel glared, hugging Tenra's shoulders protectively.

"Ah—s-sorry, I…"

The girl shrank back, clearly intimidated by the two fierce little guardians.

"Ile, Nel, let's be polite."

Tenra gently calmed them, then addressed the newcomer. "Is there something you need?"

"Um… are you Tenra Kamiyo-senpai from Kuoh Academy?"

"That's me. And you are?"

"I-I'm Yuuma Amano."

The name made Tenra's mouth twitch. He'd suspected as much the moment he saw her, but hearing it confirmed everything.

Raynare. The fallen angel.

He'd nearly forgotten about her after taking Issei Hyoudou's Sacred Gear, but here she was—seeking him out.

"Yuuma-san, what can I do for you?"

Tenra kept his tone light, betraying nothing.

Yuuma—Raynare in disguise—looked shy, as if she'd mustered all her courage. She bowed deeply, voice trembling but loud:

"Tenra-senpai, I really admire you! Please go out with me!"

Ile and Nel bared their teeth, while Yubelluna and the others frowned, their expressions turning stormy.

Tenra studied the girl—tense, earnest, playing the part perfectly. He almost laughed. Fallen angels really were born seductresses—and Oscar-worthy actresses.

Even he nearly bought it.

He didn't know what Raynare was plotting, but exposing her now would be tasteless. Instead, he smiled.

"Of course. I like you too, Yuuma-san. Let's start dating."

Ile and Nel's jaws dropped. The rest of the girls went stiff with shock.

None of them liked the idea of Tenra agreeing so easily to date some random girl, but as his retainers, they had no right to interfere.

"Yay! Thank you, Tenra-senpai!"

Yuuma's face lit up. "Let's go on a date tomorrow!"

"Sure. Tomorrow's a day off. Let's meet at the park in the morning."

"It's a promise, Tenra-senpai!"

Beaming, Raynare bounded away, her act flawless to the last step.

The moment she disappeared, the dam burst.

"Tenra-sama, why did you—?"

"Tenra-sama! We want dates too!"

"We want dates too, nya!"

Ile, Nel, Ni, and Li all clamored for his attention, swarming him with complaints and demands.

Tenra finally managed to extricate himself and turned to Mira, who looked unusually thoughtful.

"Mira, did you notice anything?"

After a brief hesitation, Mira nodded. "Tenra-sama, that girl… she's a fallen angel."

The group fell silent.

A proud glint flashed in Tenra's eyes as he patted Mira's head.

"As expected of my bishop. Good work."

Mira might not be much of a fighter, but her support magic—especially detection—was second to none. Whether fallen angel or devil, if they hid their aura and suppressed their power, even most supernatural beings couldn't tell the difference. Only Tenra and Mira had sensed Raynare's true nature.

Mira blushed at the praise, but she was clearly pleased. The other girls, after a moment's shock, turned grim. Cold, murderous intent flickered in their eyes.

A fallen angel, disguised as a human, trying to get close to their master? That could only mean trouble.

"Tenra-sama, let us go and eliminate her!"

Yubelluna's magic surged, ready to strike the moment Tenra gave the word.

But Tenra shook his head.

"No need. I have other plans."

With their power, Yubelluna and the others could crush Raynare easily—but where was the fun in that?

Watching Raynare's retreating figure, Tenra allowed himself a small, expectant smile.

Raynare, the one who killed Issei Hyoudou in the original story… What kind of surprise will you bring me this time? Don't let me down.
