I aim my lasgun at the infected and start firing. There are three of them, and I can take them. I click my tongue as I see them ignoring the laser punching through their bodies as they continue to charge at me.
Lucky for me, they are far away and on the third floor. They need to jump from one floor to another before running two hundred meters toward me.
It takes me five shots right through the head to kill one of them. They are wearing helmets, and because of their so-called gifts, they are tougher and able to take more hits. I managed to kill the second infected and shot three lasers at the last one before he could reach me.
"Embrace Rot!"
I jump back and barely dodge his attack. I jumped once again, used my lasgun like a baseball, and hit him in the leg. I watch him stagger and use that chance to shove my lasgun underneath the helmet, then press the trigger.
Luckily, his chunk of flesh sprayed away from me. I don't want those things on my body, or worse, inside of me.
I shudder and quickly take shelter in the corner of the room. I wait for more infected to arrive, but to my surprise, there are none. In fact, I can see a semi-transparent bubble appear from the center of the room and expand, covering the entire hangar.
When it stops working, the bubbles disappear, and I can feel the air change. The previous, thick, and foul air changed into fresh and crisp air.
Wait. Are those all of the heretics?
Congratulations on clearing an area of the Infected! You receive 1 Silver Ticket
Congratulations on killing your first infected! You receive 1 Bronze Ticket.
Congratulations on killing your first Dreg Bruiser! You receive 1 Bronze Ticket!
Really? Well, I will take it. It looks like Rob is kind enough to put me in a place where there are not too many infected. However, he put me in a bit of a pickle.
I look at the massive hangar and see there are a lot of openings. Fortifying this place requires many things, something I don't have.
I check around the hangar to see how big the bubble is. I leave the hangar and frown at the sun beating down on me. This world is a hive world, which means there is nothing outside other than a desert because nothing is left in this world.
The bubble reached the outside. It is forty meters away from the entrance to the hangar. That is good because I can see a small office-like room where it still has a working door, and I can barricade the windows for extra security.
I enter the room and sit in the corner of the room. I release a sigh and look outside—an endless desert with a scorching sun above.
I shake my head and take out the Elixir of Life. A vial with a golden liquid appears in my hand, and I immediately chug the liquid. After drinking the liquid, I feel a warm feeling coursing through my body. I can feel my muscles getting denser as my vitality increases tremendously.
It does not increase my strength, but it increases my stamina. I feel like I can do a twenty-kilometer marathon without stopping once.
I nod in satisfaction and summon the Chaos Gacha. I can see I have two Bronze Tickets and one Silver Ticket.
I decided to spend the Bronze Tickets first. I press the roll button and see it rolling. After a few seconds, it stops.
[Novice Cooking]
Common Skill
You are a novice in the culinary arts; you can cook most basic meals, and they will taste good. But don't expect to get a job as a chef. You will, however, improve much faster than other people if you choose to train yourself.
This is useless! I don't even have any food! Rob is kind enough to give me a supply that lasts me two days, but I don't have any food!
I grunt a little and press the roll button once again. I wait for a few seconds, and it stops.
[Bountiful Harvest]
Common Ability
You are able to create ripe and tasty fruits and vegetables by expending your own energy.
This is perfect! Are you listening to me, Rob? Thank you! I can now use my previous skill! With a happy hum, I decided to use the last ticket. My Silver Ticket.
[Chekov's Box]
Rare Item
A box that looks like a wrapped gift. When you open this box, it will give you precisely what you need for the situation, as long as it is ranked below Elite.
I look at the item and curse under my breath. I need tools or something that will let me barricade this place. Wait! Can I get the things from this box? I quickly removed the box from the Gacha inventory containing all the items I received and opened it.
The box is one cubic meter, and as I untie the ribbon, it opens itself. The box disappears, leaving me with all the tools I need for welding jobs and five steel panels. The panels can cover the entire window.
"Thank you, Rob."
I thank my father for teaching me how to weld. He is a welder and has opened a welding business back home. He wants me to continue his business and teach me. It is a shame that I am rebellious and left to do my own thing. My brother continues the business.
At least the knowledge is still stuck in me. It might not be great, but I can weld this panel to cover the entire window.
==||==
I wipe the sweat from my forehead and nod my head in satisfaction. The windows are closed, and only through the door can anyone enter. With this, I can sleep easily at night. I can use the chair and the nearby locket to block the door.
Lucky for me, the light is still functioning because this hangar still has energy. I don't need to search for a light source for this little slice of safety.
Congratulations on creating a small base! You receive 1 Silver Ticket!
Oh! Thank you, Rob. I immediately use the ticket and wait. After a few seconds, I received a new power.
[Strong Legs]
Uncommon Trait
Your legs are stronger and tougher than average, slightly enhancing your speed and substantially increasing the power behind your kicks.
Not bad. Combined with my new stamina, I can easily run around this area. Speaking of exploring, I think it is time for me to sneak around and kill the infected. I need those tickets to start cleaning the area and creating a safety bubble.
"Let's do this."
I take a deep breath and leave my base.

For you guys who don't know, I took a loan to pay for all the funeral expenses, and I need to pay quite a bit for the first installment. I don't have enough money to pay for rent, the electric bill, and food, alongside that monthly payment. I need your help to pay for the first few payments so I have enough savings to pay the rest without risking my family and me going starving or not paying rent.
