Kyle's brain went blank.
He decided not to make any hasty movements. He couldn't have come this far just to die.
And sure enough the dark passage lit up at the front when the stone under his feet clicked into place. There were torches on both sides from where he stood up until the door. The torches were lit with a strange white color fire. He had never seen such color of fire before. Maybe it was normal in a fantasy world like the one he was in before he… came here.
Looking forward he saw torches lit up what he wanted to jump into before. From where he stood to like five feet forward there was a gap on the floor. And he was standing right on the edge. He peered into the darkness. Any sudden movement would have thrown him into the abyss. And he didn't want to find out how deep it went.
He was glad he trusted what was leading him in because if he had actually jumped in an effort to avoid where he was standing now, he'd have fallen into the pit.
