Chapter 92 - CHAPTER 91

"They call it fate," she whispered with a soft smile. "Fate in its life… so as I'm smiling now, I'm both happy and sad. Happy for you, and also sad because I'm leaving you." A tear slid down her cheek, and she wiped it away quickly with her hand. "I'm crying, guess I get too much in my emotions."

Daniel gently wiped away her tears, looking at her tenderly. "Eat now, so we can go?" he asked, almost afraid of her answer. Speechless, she only nodded.

They ate quietly, finished their meal, and Daniel carried her bag to the car. Soon, they were on their way to Lucian's mansion. The moment they arrived, Mirabel rushed over to Tracy's side and embraced her tightly. Tracy hugged her back before pulling away.

"Hey!" Mirabel snapped her fingers at the maids who were walking past. They stopped and turned to her. "Get her things inside her room."

"Yes, ma'am," they answered quickly.

"Tracy, come on inside. Let's talk." Mirabel coaxed. Tracy nodded and followed her in.

Once inside, Mirabel glanced back at Lucian, who had remained by the car, head bent low. She leaned close to Tracy. "Talk to him," she whispered. "He hasn't moved since. His head has just been down."

Tracy hesitated, but then turned toward Lucian. He sat stiffly at the wheel while Mirabel excused herself. Slowly, Tracy walked over and entered the car.

"You know…" she said softly, "if you hadn't been so handsome, and if you hadn't been so kind to my sister, she wouldn't have fallen in love with you"

" And then maybe I wouldn't be here now, in the position of losing the love of my life to her."

Lucian let out a weak laugh, half in pain, half in irony.

Daniel, standing nearby, spoke with quiet resolve. "Don't give up"

" It's over, I admit… but I don't know what to do anymore. I'm not the same… you know I'm not." His voice trailed, heavy with regret.
