Chapter 28 - CHAPTER 27

Tracy POV

"What was that all about?" Tracy asked angrily.

Mirabel only smiled. "Perfect timing. We're going shopping."

"Shopping?!" Tracy frowned.

"Can I borrow your phone?"

"Yeah, sure…" Tracy handed it over, still suspicious.

Mirabel quickly dialed a number. "Simon? It's me, Mirabel. I'll text you the address—come pick me up and bring my phone." She hung up before her manager could respond and sent the address.

"Now, Tracy, we'll need to take a bath and change."

Tracy crossed her arms. "No way. You've been here one month and two weeks, and now you suddenly want to take me shopping? Not happening until you explain."

Mirabel sighed, tilting her head. "Fine. My name is Mirabel King. I'm from the King family."

Tracy's eyes went wide. "Wait—you mean the King family?!"

"Yes."

"What the hell are you doing here then?"

"It's… a long story," Mirabel said with a faint smile. "Let's shower and dress first."

"Okay," Tracy muttered, still reeling.

They cleaned up and got dressed. Not long after, Tracy's phone buzzed. She read the message aloud. "He says he's here."

"Good. Let's go."

They stepped outside and slipped into a sleek black car.

Lucian POV

Lucian stood at the window, watching every move. His phone buzzed.

"Have you gathered the information?" he asked coldly.

"Yes and no," his assistant replied. "She's covered her background well. But we know a little."

Lucian wasn't surprised. With a grandfather like Roshan King, secrecy was expected. "Go on."

"She's an A-list celebrity. A model. She lived in Los Angeles at fifteen, then moved to Las Vegas at eighteen where she skyrocketed in popularity. She's an ambassador for a luxury car company, Samsung, a 5G corporation, Celine, Chanel, Dior, and many more. She's twenty-one years old. Her brother is Mike King. Her grandfather, Roshan King—you know the rest. Mike will soon be crowned CEO of all three companies within the month. As for her finances, Mirabel herself has a net worth of 100.5 billion. Ironically, she's the one with the least money in her family. Mike has 590 billion. Roshan King—100 trillion. He's ranked among the top fifty richest men in the world. Her exact residence in Las Vegas is unknown."

Lucian's grip tightened on the phone. One hundred billion… and that's her lowest.

"Understood." He ended the call, his mind a storm.

Mirabel POV

"Mirabel, you have so much work piled up!" Simon's voice was sharp the moment she sat in the car. "Requests, appearances—I've had to put everything on hold for you!"

"Okay, okay, I'm back now. Relax." Mirabel smiled.

"Mirabel," she added, "aren't you going to introduce us?"

"Oh right. Simon, this is Tracy, my best friend. Tracy, meet Simon, my manager."

"Pleasure to meet you," Tracy said.

"The pleasure's all mine," Simon replied politely.

"My phone?" Mirabel asked. Simon handed it over immediately. She dialed her brother.

"Brother, are you in town?"

A calm voice answered. "Yes."

"I thought we had a deal. Since when?"

"Two weeks ago. I'm sorry. Grandpa was getting worried about you. He knows you're in Canada."

Mirabel cursed under her breath. "So much for keeping it secret."

"I already covered your tracks," Mike said. "I told him you had a long job commitment that lasted two months. But… we had to meet a client here, and that client invited Grandpa to a party. At Lucian's house. We're coming tomorrow."

"Don't worry," Mirabel whispered. "Where are you and Grandpa?"

"At Golden Mile."

"Okay. I'm coming to you." She ended the call.

Tracy gasped. "Golden Mile? That place is worth seventy-three million dollars. It's one of the most expensive homes in Canada."

Mirabel only smirked. "What can I say? Grandpa still spends money like water."
