Four months passed in the goblin village, and Rimuru had to resist the urge to immediately improve everything. He knew from his knowledge of the original timeline that naming the goblins too early would make them too powerful, which might deter the dire wolves from attacking. He needed that confrontation to happen naturally.
Instead, he spent the time subtly improving their defenses, teaching better construction techniques, and sharing knowledge about food preservation and basic tactics. The goblins worshipped him, but he kept his true power carefully hidden.
He also used this time to further explore his abilities and continue analyzing Veldora's prison with Raphael's help.
"Any progress on the Unlimited Imprisonment?" he asked during one of his meditation sessions.
**Analysis at 23% completion. The spell is extraordinarily complex, but I am confident we can break it given sufficient time.**
"Good. And Veldora? How are you holding up?"
"Splendidly!" came the dragon's enthusiastic response. "I've been reviewing the memories of that manga knowledge you shared. These 'shonen' stories are quite entertaining! I particularly enjoy the ones with powerful dragons!"
Finally, the day arrived. Rimuru sensed the dire wolf pack approaching long before the goblins' scouts spotted them. The pack was led by a magnificent silver wolf—Ranga's father, the Alpha.
When the wolves surrounded the village, Rimuru stepped forward to face them. The Alpha wolf's eyes burned with pride and territorial aggression.
"I am the leader of this village," Rimuru announced. "I won't allow you to harm these goblins."
The Alpha snarled in response, launching himself at Rimuru with incredible speed. But even holding back dramatically, Rimuru was far too powerful. The battle was brief but respectful—he gave the proud wolf a warrior's death, absorbing his abilities and gaining the power of shapeshifting into wolf form.
The rest of the pack, led by the young Ranga, submitted immediately upon witnessing their Alpha's defeat.
"We acknowledge your strength," Ranga said, bowing his head. "We submit to your leadership."
"Good," Rimuru replied. "Rest tonight. Tomorrow, I will give all of you names, and we'll begin building something greater than any of us could achieve alone."
