Xeno did not reply back. He just made a tch sound under his breath, rose from the sofa, and made his way out of the room.
Before going he leaned and whispered to me,
" Oi Time Devil, you better not underestimate me, especially since I'm one the Devil Slayers"
Well that did give me the chills. These devil slayers, they are terrifying. I have taken several at once but that was when I was at my full power. At my current level, I don't know if I could face that many.
One I can easily take. But these guys...they have instant communication and transport skills, which would mean reinforcements would be flooding within seconds. That'd be ... bad.
I should've ended these people ages ago.
Now... I'm standing on the roof of the house staring into the starry night sky, regretting the decisions I had made about 3000 years ago. I have been told that supper would be ready within two hours. Dad and Mr.Kevin Granger and downstairs in the study discussing some business matters.

I hear footsteps approaching from behind me.
Was Chronulus right?
I see a young man with spiky blonde hair opening the door of the roof and entering.
He had sharp obsidian like eyes.
He's dressed in black overalls. Black jacket, black T-shirt, black trousers.
He has a golden earring in his right ear and a ring on his right hand's index finger. The ring is made of gold and embedded with a black stone. It looks like obsidian. But a close look at it tells...it's ancient. Just like Chronulus said...this guy has some supernatural powers...which he's hiding behind the body of a human. Definitely someone to beware of.
He walks closer to me and puts his hand forward warmly.
Giving me a warm smile he says.
" Nice to meet you. Myself Max Granger. Sarah's father."
"Hey....uh.."
"No need to introduce yourself. I have heard a lot about you..."
" OH...well that's good."
"So...Nice name you've made up,Lukas."
I take a step back and gulp.
"Made up? What do you mean?"
Max sighs.
He rakes his hair and drums his fingers on the railing of the roof.
"Don't bother Lucalus. I have seen through you already."
I bite my lower lip and snicker. Damn...All this...just to be revealed so easily...
I jump backwards and summon my sword. No option.
A chokutō with golden blade and a black hilt appears in my hand. It glows brightly. Many who didn't know me accidently had thought me to be an angel. I won't complain though. That gives me an advantage against other minor demons.
(Chokutō- A chokutō is an ancient straight, single-edged Japanese sword that predates the more famously curved katana and was used mainly for stabbing and thrusting. )
Max smirks and readies his own blade. It's a pitch black katana. The blade and the hilt both are of the same shade. Dark clouds swirl around it. A purple aura surrounds his entire body.
We face each other for some time.
It's a basic battle stand off.
Wait for your opponent to make the move.
Only fools make the first...

Damn it! I didn't expect it!
Max is charging at me with breakneck speed.
His movement is almost a flash.
But I don't flinch.
Why should I?
I create a barrier around myself
Time will slow down for anyone as much as steps into it.
He doesn't stop.
As soon as he enters the barrier his movements slow down.
What was once a flash is now just a slow-motion video.
"Let me drop a fun fact for you while you're struggling to move. Once someone enters this barrier, it's next to impossible for them to leave it."
He snickers.
I can see signs of struggle on his face.

For you humans to understand let me make an analogy. Imagine... err..walking in a sea of honey maybe...whatever.
"Ji ...globus"
A golden orb appears in the palm of my right hand.
The barrier doesn't restrain me. I calmly walk through it till I reach him.
I give him one of my trademark sorry-but- I'm-gonna-kill-you smiles.
I place my free hand on his blonde head and pull back my right hand. I slam the orb into his gut. It expands and finally explodes balsting him off.
As the smoke clears up I'm able to see him clearly.
He's....
Wait... Goddammit.
He trapped me in my own trap.
He wanted me to blow him out of the barrier. I just... I just lost the only advantage I had here...though I believe I'd have plenty more being... No time to go down that path.
He turns mid air and summons a bow made completely out of a black energy in his hands and shoots at a me.
It's aimed at my heart...which one I don't know. Maybe it's the human heart which is present in me...ya that'd be bad... I'd probably even lose... ahh dammit.
I create a sphere in ahead of me that traps the incoming arrow in time. The barrier behind me dissolves. Ugh...this form isn't enough to sustain multiple manifestations of magic at once.
Now!Now! You may be wondering why didn't I just step back into the barrier. Well...it's doesn't work like that to trap any magical attack in time you need a condensed barrier...especially if it's a Shadow based attack. These have the tendency to slip past normal barriers. I will explain in detail when I have more time... now I need to deal with a sneak attack from behind me.
He has switched back to his katana and had thrust his balde at me. I turn around and parry with my own blade.
Just then a commanding voice rings from downstairs.
It's Kevin Granger's.
"Max...Lucalus. if you are both done with your chat you might come down. Dinner's ready."
Mac immediately goes back to his normal human state. He smiles faintly and whispers to me.
" Don't worry kid. We'll finish this later. During the war."
I'm not shocked . So he's on Sanroku's side ,huh? Well that's gonna be a bit of a pain in the ass. I will have to recruit stronger demons to my army I guess. Especially if I'm going to deal with a Devil Slayer and a ...whatever this guy is.
He makes his way to the stairs.
I follow him
Just then I feel the earth weighing me down strongly .
He's here.
Something must be wrong.
Or else the commander of my army wouldn't make such a sudden appearance
Behind me a metallic voice says
"Magister. Subitus est."
