(Narrator's pov)
Part 1
Eliz and Kuzo stood side by side explaining their war strategy to their soldiers. The war ahead was really crucial. Victory would increase their already small forces by subduing the Gemini Cult. Defeat would mean sure short annihilation.
Both of them were pretty tired. They had to change their entire battle plan when Owl told them that Lucalus's forces were grouping towards to North. This was bad. A three way war would be way worse. Especially if it was against three of the most formidable vampiric cults– Massaass Dam, Kyuketsuki and Gemini.
Despite it being Eliz's auspicious day, she was scared...not of death....not of getting outnumbered...but of defeat. The plan earlier was that Eliz would deal with Mizen, the leader of Gemini, while Kuzo cleared the forces. But now...they weren't really sure. Asim ,Kyoraku and Mizen...all three powerful vampire kings. If Eliz battled Mizen... Kuzo would have to face Asim and Kyoraku...and if she battled the duo...Kuzo would have to face Mizen. Either way it was a sure shot defeat for them
She murmured," That's what you get by putting such an weak vampire as one of the commanders...that too...during such a crucial mission."
Kuzo is the leader of the Lethego cult aka The Cannibals aka The weakest vampires.
Why are they weak...Well that's a long story. We'll save that for later.
As the forces returned to their respective tents Eliz kept staring at Kuzo's face. His sharp teeth. Grey hair. Red eyes. He looked pretty average . Not something which would really impress a girl
Kuzo found her staring and approached her.
He raised his right arm and gently placed it on her cheek.
"Want to say something ,princess?"
She clicked her tongue and scoffed. She punched him right in gut and walked away muttering.
"Kuso... If we lose because of you. I'll make sure to murder you before our enemies do."
He yelled from behind.
" I won't die so easily,princess"
"I'm not a princess, I'm the freaking Queen."
Part 2
The armies charge into it each other as soon as the horns are blown. The forces of the Gemini cult aren't there yet. For now the battle is between the 4 major cults: Massaass Dam, Kyuketsuki on one side and Haven and Lethego on the other.
The Haven cult vampires are trained fighters. They elegantly swing their swords, spears, fists etc. Taking down anyone who comes in their way with pure martial arts.
The Kyuketsuki cult, also known as the Vampiric Ninjas, are extremely fast and their attacks...precise and accurate. Any enemy who comes in their way in beautifully killed with a perfectly executed swing which beheads then
The Massaass Dam,are exact opposite of the Kyuketsuki. They lack in speed and precision. But each one of them carries a greatsword or war hammer smashing it into the opponents heads and ground . When their attack hits the ground ,it erupts like a earthquake had happened. And when it hits another vampire, they get converted into a paste. The combo of the two cults is hence considered one of the deadliest. They both fill in where the other lacks.
Meanwhile the Lethegos... they just pounce upon their opponents like apes and bite into their flesh...which allows them to absorb one percent of the victims power. They are the ones getting heavily chopped and wounded as soon as the battle starts.
Kuzo is squatting on the ground. He watches them without fliching without any signs of worry or anxiety. He doesn't care.
Eliz is troubled by this. She doesn't understand how someone could just watch their families get killed.
"Don't you care about them. Aren't they your families and friends?"
"They are"
"Then..how can you just watch them get killed...?"
"Because they aren't getting killer?"
"Huh?"
She's met with a shock as she sees the Lethegos reforming again and continuing the Apic(ape -like) strategy. She notices that each time they get killed...they just regenerate...each time faster than the previous one.
"How..."
" There's only one way to kill a Lethego...or two or multiple if you are a greater devil...Sanroku showed me that. But fir now let's just stick to one."
"What is it?"
"Why's hold I tell you?"
"So that...."
"So that you can kill me when I'm no longer of any use...eh?Princess..."
She just stares at him. She's speechless.
She thinks to herself.
'Why did I want to know how to kill him....?'
" Hey Princess.."
She snaps back from her thoughts.
"I'm not–"
" Save that for later. Look ahead... big fast vampire coming up."
She sees a vampire... no she doesn't see it...she just sees a flash racing towards her.
She summons her scythe out of thin air and twirls. Her read hair ...flowing, her red dress...glittering.
And with extreme grace beheads the vampire racing towards her in one clean slice.
Just as the head is about to fall off, Kuzo grabs it and bites a huge chunk out of it.
"Eww.."
"Whot...?" He says while chewing on the vampire meat.
" That's... disgusting. And don't you know...eating vampire flesh has lot of consequences..."
"Like?"
"Like... like..."
She's flushed. How can this weakling counter her so easily.
"I don't know... as I'd ever do something as disgusting as that."
" Call it whatever you want. It's food for me. And about that consequences part... I don't know how worse could it get. The curse..."
He shoots her a suspecting glance from the corner of his eye. She flinches and takes a step back.
"Nevermind about it. It had more advantages than disadvantages... let me give a glimpse."
He notices a big and almost gigantic vampire moving towards them. Every time he steps on the ground it trembles under his weight.
Eliz is immediately alert. But just as she's taking a stance Kuzo blocks her path.
"What–"
"Shussh, Just watch, Princess."
"Ugh...don't–"
Before she can say anything more she is hit with a strong gush of wind. Kuzo puts his right foot ahead and charges at the vampire with blinding speed...it's not as fast as a Kyuketsuki but ...it's faster than that of an average vampire. And moreover...it's almost a flash
Eliz wonders.
'Where did he learn that?"
Kuzo pulls out a cleaver from his jacket and with with a clean swing sends the vampire's head flying off.
Eliz is really impressed and is about to praise him. Just then..
He does his disgusting thing again. He catches the head (in a rather flashy way) and bites into it.
He then turns and flashes her a mischievous grin
Eliz sighs and rolls her eyes.
"We should break their formation."
"As you command...Princess."
The nerves in her forehead pop up after hearing that. She gives him a death stare.
"Next time you call me that–"
" What will ya do? Kill me."
He then bursts into laughter like a madman.
"Tch... you're intolerable."
"Yet you like me.."
Eliz blushes. But immediately shakes her head and says.
"What makes you think that? You males have this thing you know... A girl talks to you nicely for a moment and you start making assumptions."
She tosses her chin up and flips her hair backwards.
"Ouch...that hurt."
"Get to work... peasant."
"I'm rarely called that... Usually if people want to praise me they call me the CANNIBAL KING."
He pumps up his chest.
"And if they want to insult you?"
" Er..."
Kuzo drops down his head shoulder and stares at the ground. He scratches the side of his head and says.
"They call me...the weakest Vampire King."
"Haha."
She chuckles and red cheeks become red.
"That's a sign of–"
She immediately washes away that expression and puches in his gut.
" Get to work...Weakest Vampire King."
"Princess..."
Both of them smile at each other and race towards the army in front of them.
Kuzo is on a rampage. He's not fighting he's butchering. His powers are a combination of those of Kyuketsuki and Massaass Dam. Though it's not as great as the elites... but as foretold these two powers make a deadly combo.
He chops of the head of one of them. The other gets sliced into two parts horizontally wahile the other vertically. He drives the fakt edge of the cleaver through one of their guts, scoops out the entrails and feasts on them
Eliz is no else. She elegantly swirls her scythe and races through the vampires slicing them of with diffrenet techniques which are almost a blur.
Kuzo is overexcited. A rush of adrenaline flows through his blood.
Just then...
He chops off the head of the head of one od the Kyuketsuki vampires. The body slumps to the ground only to reveal another vampire.
But this one's no esle. He had long white hair. He's wearing a red kimono and a unsheated katana in his hands pointing straight at Kuzo . He stares at Kuzo with bloody red eyes. Anger and rage are flowing through them.
" You think you could just kill my men and walk away unharmed?"
Then he moves. No he does not move. It's almost as if he teleports. One second he's a metre away from Kuzo and the next he's blade is just about to pierce him.
"So this is a real Kyuketsuki. Kyoraku...the Ninja"
Just as he's about to get pierced Eliz teleports in between them and hooks Kyoraku's sword in her scythe.
"You think I'll just let you kill my man?".
