The sound of metal hitting metal echoed and a pained look appeared on the snake's eyes.

The snake saw the incoming attack and immediately tried to twist its body to avoid it.
However, because of the damage it suffered, its movements have actually gotten slower.
Because of this, it failed to fully avoid the attack.

It hissed in pain and wriggled fiercely.
With its cunning mind, the snake already knew at this moment that it's in a critical situation.
And so, it stopped hesitating and turned around, running away from Kyson.
"Not good!"
Noticing its movements, Kyson hurriedly swung his molo knife once again, successfully hitting the snake.

A large slash appeared on the body of the snake and one of its eyes was also damaged.

The intense pain caused the snake to go crazy and its mind was immediately consumed by madness.
Without caring about life any longer, it actually turned around and rushed directly to Kyson.

With the snake rushing through it, the knife went through the snake's body and slid deeper until it came out at the snake's tail.
The snake was sliced into two from the middle and dropped down on the ground.

Kyson watched the separated body of the snake twitch a few times on the ground before finally stopping.
At the snake's moment of death, Kyson felt something warm entering his body before disappearing.
That sensation made him raise an eyebrow.
"What was that? Don't tell me, was that experience from killing the snake?"
Kyson was curious about it but didn't dwell on it for long.
He's still in a hunting ground right now, he can't let his mind wander about various things.
Picking up the snake's carcass, Kyson looked at it and said,
"This should have some value, right?"
"It might be a good idea to bring this back and sell it."
Saying that, Kyson threw it in a bag that he's carrying on his back.
After doing all that, Kyson continued moving with Chicky.
This time, Kyson increased his vigilance. He made sure to check the trees to not repeat the situation from before.
This slowed their progress, but that's better than being ambushed again in Kyson's opinion.
Kyson and Chicky moved around the mountain and encountered various mutated creatures.
Snakes and squirrels are just some of the few types in this mountain.
Whenever they encounter one, Kyson readily fights with it.
With Chicky standing in front, tanking all the damage, Kyson didn't have to worry about his safety.
Something noteworthy is that, out of all the enemies they met, there's still none that can cause damage to Chicky.

Slashing his molo knife at the charging boar, Kyson inflicted a large wound at the back of the boar.

The boar's cry resounded, scaring a few creatures nearby.
Finally, when its voice died down, the boar also dropped to the ground, lifeless.
Wiping the sweat on his shoulder, Kyson looked at the dead body of the boar with a smile.
"Phew, that one was really tough."
Just as he said that, the familiar warm sensation once again entered his body.
Everytime he kills a mutated creature, the same warm feeling appears on his body. And at this point, Kyson is sure that this should be like experience points in games If not, at least something similar.
As thoughts were running inside his mind, Kyson suddenly noticed something different.
