Chapter 334 – Hatake Chiba
As Yusuke placed the last dish onto the table, no one immediately started eating.
Instead, everyone turned their gaze toward him. Normally, whenever Yusuke cooked, it was either because he had made Tsunade angry… or because something extremely important had happened. Because of that, all attention naturally fell on him.
"Ehm… actually, the main point is…" Yusuke stammered for quite a while, yet still didn't know how to begin.
"Enough already, just sit down," Tsunade said while rolling her eyes, scolding him with an annoyed tone.
"The point is, today we officially welcome Konan into the Hatake family," Tsunade announced.
Hearing this news, no one was truly surprised. As long as someone wasn't blind, anyone could see that Konan liked Yusuke. Something like this simply wasn't shocking.
The happiest person was, of course, Hatake Sakumo. He had already retired and no longer had any grand ambitions in life. All he wished for now was to be surrounded by lively children and grandchildren.
Even though physically he didn't appear old due to not undergoing any operations, mental changes were inevitable. Among all the daughters-in-law of the Hatake family, only Yūhi Kurenai was currently pregnant.
As for Tsunade, since she had become Hokage, Sakumo had never forced her about such matters. Now, with another daughter-in-law joining the family who could continue the Hatake bloodline, Sakumo was naturally the most delighted.
The only one who seemed rather gloomy was Yūhi Shinku.
However, as a father, he couldn't say much either. After all, Kurenai had already become part of the Hatake family, and his own daughter had no objections.
As a father, he had no reason to oppose. Moreover, during the time Konan stayed with the Hatake family, Shinku had grown very fond of the gentle yet strong-willed girl, so he naturally wouldn't reject her.
A month passed.
All members of the Hatake family gathered at Konoha Hospital. Even Lee, who was usually very carefree and relaxed, now clearly showed anxiety on his face. Both of his hands were clenched tightly as he sat outside the delivery room.
"Damn it, why is it taking so long!" Yusuke said anxiously.
His grip tightened further, and gradually, a vast aura and terrifying pressure began to leak out from his body.
Even though he could use the power of the Ope Ope no Mi and knew that Kurenai would not be in danger, an indescribable unease still took hold of him.
"Don't worry," Konan said as she walked over and gently held both of Yusuke's hands.
"Yeah… I'm fine," Yusuke replied with a forced smile.
This was the first time Konan had seen Yusuke like this since she'd known him. Not only Konan—even Sakumo had never seen his eldest son reveal emotions like this before.
About an hour later, the door to the delivery room finally opened. A medical ninja stepped out while carrying a tiny baby.
The baby's eyes looked sleepy, and she didn't appear wrinkled like most newborns. Instead, she looked smooth and beautiful like a porcelain doll—a tiny, adorable infant.
However, the moment the door opened, Yusuke didn't even glance at the baby. He immediately rushed into the room and went straight to Kurenai's bedside.
"How are you, Kurenai?" Yusuke held her hand, and healing light immediately shone from his palm, restoring her body.
"I'm fine," Kurenai said as she looked at Yusuke, who had been the first to enter the room.
Gently, she tidied Yusuke's messy hair, a happy smile forming on her face.
"Why go through all this? I could have…" Yusuke's face was filled with confusion.
"You don't understand. The pain of childbirth is something a worthy mother must experience," Kurenai said, her eyes full of unwavering resolve.
Yusuke said nothing. The light in his hand grew brighter. Before long, Kurenai's pale face regained its color, until her condition looked completely normal again.
"May I see our child?" Kurenai asked.
"Of course. I'll bring her here right away," Yusuke said before running out with light steps.
"Tsunade, quickly, let me hold her!" Yusuke's face displayed a smile that had never been seen before.
"Alright," Tsunade said without much comment, then handed the baby to him.
"I have to admit, she truly deserves to be called your child. A normal newborn would usually need intensive examination, but this child's body is incredibly strong," Tsunade said.
The moment the baby entered Yusuke's arms, something strange happened. The little baby who had been crying loudly suddenly went silent.
She opened her large red eyes and looked at Yusuke. Her chubby little hands tried to reach for his face, but since her arms were too short, she couldn't quite touch him.
Seeing such an adorable, tiny appearance, Yusuke's heart nearly melted. From that moment on, a daughter-obsessed father was born into this world.
"She… she stopped crying?" Everyone stared at the scene in astonishment.
"My precious daughter, smile for Daddy," Yusuke said in both surprise and joy.
"Perhaps this is the bond of blood. The moment she entered Yusuke's arms, she stopped crying immediately," Tsunade said.
Yusuke looked at his obedient and sweet daughter. Unknowingly, a sense of responsibility he had never felt before arose in his heart.
"This feeling… isn't bad at all," Yusuke thought inwardly.
"Alright, alright, now it's my turn. Quickly, let Grandpa hold her," Sakumo said as he hurried over, staring at his granddaughter with excitement.
"Father, didn't you just hold her earlier? Let me hold her too," Kakashi said.
"Move aside! Learn from your older brother and stop acting so unserious all the time!" Sakumo snapped angrily, then turned back to the baby in Yusuke's arms with a happy smile. Thus, a grandpa obsessed with his granddaughter was officially born.
Meanwhile, Kakashi felt isolated and walked off to a corner of the room, drawing circles on the floor in sadness.
"Alright, back to the important matter. This child hasn't been given a name yet," Tsunade said while looking at the father and child with a helpless expression.
"Kurenai said the name should be decided by the two of you," Tsunade added.
"In that case… Yūhi Shiro," Yūhi Shinku said after thinking for quite a long time.
"What?! You bastard! That's my granddaughter. Her family name is Hatake!" Sakumo immediately exploded in anger, shouting with a flushed face.
"If that's not allowed, then fine. How about Hatake Shiro?" Shinku suggested again.
Everyone looked at Yūhi Shinku speechlessly. That name really was far too careless.
"What kind of name is that? Let me name her instead. How about Hatake Hana? My granddaughter is as beautiful as a flower," Hatake Sakumo said.
"What? That's even worse. Too old-fashioned," Yūhi Shinku mocked.
"What did you say? What do you know? This name has deep meaning!"
The two of them fell into another argument.
"How about Hatake Shirohana or Hatake Hanashiro?" Kakashi suggested carefully.
The two stared at each other, then looked at Kakashi at the same time.
"Get lost!"
"Get lost!"
At that moment, Kakashi achieved a new milestone: a world where only Kakashi was hurt.
"How about Chiba," Yusuke said while looking at Sakumo and Shinku.
"Chiba… Hatake Chiba," Sakumo and Yūhi Shinku said at the same time.
"Use that."
"Use that."
The two of them took the baby from Yusuke's arms.
"Chiba, from today onward, your name is Hatake Chiba," Sakumo said as he looked at the little baby.
Upon hearing her name, little Chiba suddenly smiled, clearly showing that she liked it.
But not long after, she began crying again, seemingly not very fond of her grandfather's excessive enthusiasm.
"Alright, Father, give little Chiba to me. I'll bring her to see Kurenai," Yusuke said.
Yusuke held his baby once more. The moment she returned to her father's arms, the little girl immediately stopped crying and instead let out a silly laugh. Her chubby little cheeks puffed up, looking incredibly adorable.
"Come on, little Chiba, let's go meet Mom," Yusuke said gently.
Little Chiba didn't understand what he was saying. She simply stared at her father with wide, curious eyes while sucking on her chubby little finger.
