Chapter 125 – The Child Destined by Fate
Night had quietly fallen over the Hidden Leaf Village, but not a single shinobi allowed themselves to rest. The entire village stood on high alert.
Tonight wasn't just any night. It was a night that would be recorded in the annals of the ninja world—the night the Fourth Hokage's wife was giving birth... and the night a child destined to shape the future of this world would be born.
The seal suppressing the Nine-Tails was expected to weaken during labor, and unease hung heavily in the air like an invisible fog.
"You're here too, Father?" Kakashi asked, adjusting the mask over his face as he turned to the older man beside him.
Sakumo stood tall in full battle gear once again, the legendary White Fang strapped to his back—a sight Kakashi hadn't seen in years.
"Of course I am. There's no way I'd sit this one out," Sakumo replied, glancing fondly at his son, who now stood shoulder to shoulder with him.
"If Big Brother finds out, he'll get mad again," Kakashi muttered. "You're not that young anymore. You should be leaving these missions to us."
"You're sounding more and more like your brother," Sakumo chuckled. "But don't worry. If he were here, he'd probably agree. He and Minato are close, after all."
He let out a sigh. "It's been years since he last came home… You'd think with his Space-Time Ninjutsu, he'd visit more often."
"You miss him, huh?" Kakashi asked, smiling softly. "Don't worry, Father. Even if he's not around, I'll take care of you when you're old."
"Hmph! Don't go copying that troublesome brother of yours. If it weren't for his insane strength, that attitude of his—ugh…" Sakumo grumbled, though the warmth in his tone betrayed his fondness.
Meanwhile, somewhere else in the village, the wail of a newborn pierced the stillness of the night.
A shadowy figure crept silently over the rooftops, heading straight for the village's heart.
"Summoning Jutsu: Nine-Tails!"
A massive explosion of chakra rocked the village.
In an instant, the colossal form of the Nine-Tailed Fox materialized, roaring with unrestrained fury. Its nine tails whipped through the air, leveling buildings with each swing. Its crimson eyes glowed ominously, Sharingan spinning in its gaze.
"This is bad… The Nine-Tails has appeared!" Kakashi's voice was urgent. "Father, find somewhere safe—"
"You think your old man's going to just sit back?" Sakumo smirked.
He wasn't about to let his son face something this dangerous alone. No matter how strong Kakashi had become, he was still his child.
Both father and son rushed toward the rampaging beast.
The Kyūbi's mouth opened wide. A dense ball of chakra began to form—a Tailed Beast Bomb.
"Hatake Kenjutsu: Lightning – Obliteration!"
"Armament Haki: Black Lightning – Hatake Kenjutsu – Obliteration!"
Twin blades—one blazing with white lightning, the other cloaked in pitch-black lightning—sliced through the bomb mid-formation. A shockwave erupted but dispersed harmlessly, the attack neutralized before it could detonate.
Just then, a familiar flash appeared beside Kakashi.
"Minato-sensei!" Kakashi called. "Leave the Kyūbi to me and Father. Go check on Kushina-nee!"
"Understood," Minato nodded. "I'll leave this to you two. Good luck."
And with that, the Yellow Flash vanished in an instant.
He reappeared beside Kushina, who was barely conscious.
"Kushina, are you okay?" Minato asked urgently.
"Mi… Minato… our baby…" she whispered weakly.
"I know. Just hold on." In a blur of motion, he used his Space-Time Ninjutsu to bring both Kushina and baby Naruto to their home.
After ensuring their safety, Minato donned his Hokage cloak, reappearing atop Hokage Rock.
"I won't let you destroy this village!"
He hurled his special kunai, activating a sealing formula mid-air to teleport the Tailed Beast Bomb away before it could land.
But suddenly, he sensed someone behind him.
He stabbed backward instinctively—but the blade met nothing but air.
The masked man—Obito—was intangible. The kunai passed through him like mist. In the next moment, his body solidified and he grabbed Minato by the collar, dragging him into a separate dimension.
"…So it begins."
"As expected of the Yellow Flash… You dodged even that," Obito said, his body twisting as he teleported again, reappearing beside Minato.
"Who are you?" Minato asked, though his mind was already racing. If I fall here… I'll have to entrust the village to Kakashi. This man… he's incredibly dangerous.
Obito didn't respond. He attacked without warning. Again, Minato's kunai passed through him. But this time, chakra chains shot out from behind, forcing Minato to leap away.
He threw another kunai—again, no effect.
"I've won," Obito declared, approaching with an outstretched hand.
But in that instant, Minato vanished.
"Flying Thunder God – Second Stage!"
In a flash, Minato reappeared behind him and slammed a Rasengan into his back, branding him with a teleportation seal.
Obito crashed into a rock wall but managed to stand, though visibly wounded.
"…I can't afford to let my guard down with you, huh?"
Minato teleported again, this time sealing the connection between Obito and the Kyūbi. The Sharingan faded from the beast's eyes, revealing its original bestial, vertical pupils—wild and furious.

Meanwhile, deep within a strange, pitch-black space, Yusuke remained trapped.
"So this is the Sage of Six Paths' tool…?"
"This space is completely isolated from the outside world. But if I'm not mistaken… the Kyūbi has already been released."
He raised his hand, forming a translucent glow of energy.
"It's time to break out."
"Sky Shatter."
With a single punch, the dimension around him cracked like glass, shattering the cube that had sealed him inside.
But as he stepped out, his eyes narrowed.
"Damn it… The time flow in that space was different."
To him, it felt like only an hour had passed, yet the sky was already dark.
He instantly activated Space-Time Ninjutsu and teleported to Konoha.
As soon as he saw the Kyūbi's towering figure rampaging through the village, he warped again—this time appearing directly in front of the beast.
Behind it, he spotted a massive Shinigami spirit looming over Minato.
"…Damn it. I still didn't make it in time."
Yusuke's expression hardened. His eyes were cold—burning with killing intent.

Inside their home, Kushina's body was weakening, but her eyes remained gentle as she cradled the tiny infant in her arms.
"Naruto… Don't be picky with food. Eat well so you'll grow up strong."
"Remember to bathe and soak in warm water every day… keep your body healthy…"
"Don't stay up too late. Get enough sleep every night."
"Make friends… Not many, just a few real ones you can truly trust…"
"Even if Mama's bad at studying… you must work hard, both in school and in ninjutsu…"
"Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses… If you struggle, don't feel down."
"At school, respect your teachers and upperclassmen."
"Oh, one more thing—about the Three Ninja Taboos… especially money. Be careful with it. Save what you earn from missions."
"And don't drink alcohol before you're twenty. Drinking too much is bad for you…"
Her words were barely audible—soft whispers between shallow breaths—but they carried the weight of a mother's eternal love.
