Chapter 19 – The Meeting
"The legendary blade, Enma... They say it can tear through even the gates of the underworld. Anyone other than me who tries to wield it usually has their chakra drained dry and dies. But if you can master it, it becomes an unparalleled weapon," Yusuke explained calmly.
"That powerful, huh?" Kakashi replied, visibly surprised.
"Legendary swords possess a soul. They choose their wielder. If the sword doesn't acknowledge you, you'll never be able to use it," Yusuke continued, still composed.
"Alright, let's head home," Sakumo said as he crouched down, signaling he'd carry Yusuke on his back.
Yusuke didn't resist. His body was completely drained of strength.
On the way back, the small family walked in a gentle, warm silence. It had been a long time since Yusuke felt this kind of peace.
But then, the memory of Sakumo Hatake's tragic fate in the original timeline resurfaced in his mind. Yusuke's gaze darkened with bloodlust.
If the idiots in this village dared to treat his father like they did in the original story, he wouldn't hesitate to slaughter every last one of them.
And whoever orchestrated that outcome… would not live to see the dawn. But first, he had to grow far stronger.
[Ding!]
[New Mission: Attain Chūnin Rank. Reward: One Random Logia-type Devil Fruit (elemental)]
A Logia Fruit...? That could make me unbeatable! Yusuke thought, fire burning in his eyes.
The Chūnin Exams must be coming up soon. He remembered Kakashi reached Chūnin at six—meaning they still had about a year.
He wondered… would Kakashi join this time too? His power was already far beyond the original.

The Next Day
Yusuke was summoned to the Hokage's office. The room was already filled with major figures: the heads of the Hyūga and Uchiha Clans, the famed Ino-Shika-Chō trio leaders, the Konoha Elders, the Legendary Sannin, and a number of elite Jōnin.
And, of course… Tsunade. In his past life, she was his goddess of dreams. Seeing her in the flesh now—yeah, just as expected. That body was insane.
"Hey kid! Who let you in here? This meeting is for Jōnin only!" snapped Koharu Utatane, scowling.
She'd never liked him. His father, Hatake Sakumo, was a rising political threat to her. This was the perfect chance to humiliate the boy.
"Mind your own business," Yusuke replied casually without even glancing at her.
Tsunade, watching from the side, raised an eyebrow in amusement. She often acted the same way toward the elders—no respect, no restraint.
"What did you just say?! Just because your father is the White Fang of Konoha, you think you're above everyone? You think even the Hokage isn't worthy of your respect?!" Koharu barked louder.
Some of the Jōnin and clan heads shifted uncomfortably. That kind of accusation was no joke—not even against Sakumo.
"Nice attempt at twisting words. But here's the truth: I was summoned directly by Hokage-sama. You, however, started interrogating me before he even spoke. So who's really being disrespectful? Or… could it be that you're plotting to usurp his power?"
Yusuke's tone was light, but the weight of his words struck the entire room like thunder. The boy wasn't just bold—he was sharp.
"Hmph! Koharu… are you displeased with my orders?" Hiruzen Sarutobi said coldly.
"N-No, not at all..." Koharu stammered, her expression stiff. She'd not only embarrassed herself but angered the Hokage too.
She shot Yusuke a sharp glare—but he returned it with a stare of his own… infused with Conqueror's Haki.
A wave of pure spiritual pressure swept through the chamber. Though most of it was aimed at Koharu, everyone felt it.
Koharu nearly collapsed. Though she was a Jōnin, her focus was medical ninjutsu—and she hadn't seen combat in years. There was no way she could withstand that force.
"Enough! How dare you use your power against Konoha's elders!" Danzo growled.
The gathered Jōnin looked at each other, realizing that what they'd felt wasn't just chakra. If that really came from the kid… then his power was at least on the level of a Tokubetsu Jōnin.
"And who said I attacked anyone?" Yusuke replied playfully, raising both hands.
"Watch your mouth! Who do you think you're talking to?!"
"Oh? Sorry, I forgot Danzo-sama only has one eye," Yusuke smirked.
Homura Mitokado looked like he had just swallowed a lemon. "Is this for real...? I'm the one embarrassed here?"
"Hahahaha! This kid's something else!" Tsunade burst out laughing.
"Tsunade-sama, you flatter me too much," Yusuke replied with a polite smile, wearing the air of a noble heir.
His cheeky-but-elegant demeanor made even Jiraiya chuckle. The tension in the room finally began to ease. Sakumo allowed himself a small smile.
He knew all too well that the elders had tried to suppress his son—and as a father, he couldn't help but feel proud watching Yusuke stand tall with grace and wit.
"That's enough. Consider me thoroughly entertained," Hiruzen said with a grin.
Still, he couldn't forget that strange pressure earlier. Was that… one of Yusuke's secret techniques?
"The meeting will begin," Hiruzen declared, his expression turning serious.
"There are two main items on today's agenda. First, this year's Chūnin Exams will be held in the Sunagakure. We need to appoint a supervising leader."
"I believe one of the Legendary Sannin should represent us," said a pineapple-haired Jōnin from the Nara Clan.
"Agreed."
"Seconded."
"Understood. Since the exam is overseas, one of the Sannin shall lead the delegation," Hiruzen concluded.
"As for you, Yusuke… I called you here to ensure you participate in this exam. I want you to win it and show the world the strength of the Konoha."
His words carried hidden weight.
Yusuke technically didn't need to climb ranks like this—he was already in ANBU.
"Of course! I won't let you down, Hokage-sama!" Yusuke replied eagerly, eyes burning with excitement.
Everyone present shared the same thought: This kid… he's a full-blown battle junkie.
"Now for the second item… Tsunade, go ahead."
Tsunade's posture straightened, her tone turning serious.
"I propose assigning one medical-nin per mission team. I also suggest we establish a specialized medical ninja training institute."
"Impossible. After the Second Great Ninja War, Konoha's economy hasn't fully recovered. There's no budget for something like that," said Homura.
"I object as well. Medics will weaken the team's front-line strength. They'll increase mission failure risk," Danzo added.
"Agreed."
"Agreed."
"Agreed."
"I support Tsunade-sama's proposal," Yusuke chimed in casually.
"Me too," came a gentle voice. A tall, handsome man with pale blue hair. Kato Dan, Yusuke guessed.
"You're just a kid! This isn't your place to speak!" Koharu barked again.
"Oh please… Do you want to control when I use the bathroom too?"
Yusuke shrugged. "This mouth is mine. I'll speak as I wish—especially when it's for Konoha's future. Or… do you plan to label me a traitor?"
"..."
"Hmph. Very well, Yusuke. What benefits do you see in a medical-nin training institute?" Hiruzen asked, clearly intrigued.
"Benefits, huh?" Yusuke raised a brow, his tone mildly annoyed. But before he could answer—
"Watch your tone! That's the Hokage!" Koharu and Homura shouted in unison.
"Shut up!" Yusuke snapped, finally losing patience.
A violent burst of pressure exploded from his body. The surrounding furniture cracked. This time, Yusuke was genuinely furious.
